Um problema que encontrei no passado não é com a tradução de uma língua para outra (para entender o significado das letras), mas é como fazer isso mantendo o mesmo esquema de rima. Gosto de ter letras que rimam, mas muitas palavras que rimam em uma língua não rimam em outra língua. Algumas músicas não fazem sentido quando traduzidas para outra língua (particularmente quando traduzidas para o inglês). Essas músicas perdem seu simbolismo ou contexto histórico e cultural. Uma famosa canção chilena como "Gracias a la Vida" quando traduzida para o inglês parecerá muito simplista de uma forma infantil e excessivamente sentimental. Além disso, a palavra "Vida" quando traduzida para o inglês se traduz em uma palavra difícil de cantar, pois não termina em uma "vogal latina". O inglês não tem uma palavra substituta apropriada que termine em uma "vogal latina" ou ressoe da mesma maneira. Acho que as músicas em inglês não são tão sentimentais quanto as músicas escritas em espanhol, português, francês, italiano, etc. Se você quiser me enviar por e-mail material traduzido para o inglês, talvez eu consiga trabalhar com isso, mas meu processo de composição pode ser muito aleatório. Indeed. This was a somewhat controversial song when Gerry Goffin and Carole King wrote it back in 1960. It was doubly serious when you think about the fact that Carole King was only about 18 years old when she wrote this "grown up" song.

Motown refused to release it "Oh No we can not do that with such a Taboo topic' so Berry Gordy said he would walk taking all his expertise & artists with him. @@loublackvideo It's one of the best live cuts that I've ever seen from that era. There's probably more of these live cuts out there, but with all the changes in ownership of the tv stations and record companies, I imagine you really have to dig deep AND have good connections?

I was lucky enough to find this entire concert, which came from an Australian rebroadcast of a British ITV show. I was told by the producer of this concert that the raw original (high quality) footage has lost or overwritten decades ago. I think this is the challenge of having very little of our musical history properly documented and saved, but every so often someone discovers something in a vault or attic.

I'm not familiar with the "Oh Boy," but I did a search. I couldn't find any free downloadable footage, but it seems like others have found footage and posted it to UA-cam. Right? Live performances can often be unmatched. Some of my favorite songs by certain artists are the live versions. The artist is feeding off the crowd, improvising, and channeling that energy, something that is very hard to recreate in the studio. There is a Nashville band that I’ve seen a dozen plus times, but I have never bought their CDS or stream their songs, BECAUSE the energy of their performances aren’t captured on their recordings (3D versus 2D)

Meu amigo Christian possui e toca muitos instrumentos exóticos. O instrumento que ele está tocando no vídeo é algo que ele chama de "dulcimer de montanha". Eu nunca tinha visto um antes, mas ele tem um tom muito interessante. Ele tem tocado esses instrumentos em shows com mais frequência porque é mais fácil para ele se transportar para um show quando ele está andando de bicicleta.

So, someone took a live recording and added strings after the fact? That is a bit of a cheat which defeats the whole point of a live recording. Live performances with all of their flaws is hard to come by for that era, which is why the record companies insisted that all TV appearances involve lip syncing.

Goober? Thems fightin' words, you..you...Hayseed. LOL. There is a ton of 1960's lip sync stuff out there to stream or download, but pure raw unedited live performances from that era are extremely rare. The technical challenges can come from the fact that the video footage itself was source from 2nd-3rd generation kinescope tape copies, and the audio is 1960's TV set mono quality. I came across a clip of Gene Vincent from that same show, but it was too blurry to work with and the audio had way too much static. The only reason I ever colorized this entire concert (also featuring Jerry Lee and Little Richard) is because one old gentleman in Scotland insisted I do so. He is in his 80's, and he wanted to share this with his friends who were at the same concert. He is also friends with the producer/promoter of that concert, who admitted that he regrets the higher quality film/audio copies of that concert were lost over the years. Colorizing is a ton of work btw, but these old concert goers wanted to relive their experience the way they remembered it (in color and with that Brit surf band as backup).

They wouldn't be able to. There was an entire generation of musicians back then that knew that they needed to give "performances," an actual show.
