Have found w mint and w privy coins, would like more details on airmen 1/4. That makes it collectable.
I found a 1943 Double Die Obverse at a local laundry mat in the change machine. All the quarters were taken from the washing machines. According to the 2023 coin book the value of this very very rare quarter is....$2,750.00. Best find of my coins. So rare there is no listing of mintage strikes. Not bad huh?

I've yet to find a silver, but my last box had 4 W quarters and a Panama Balboa. I was happy with that.
Silver quarters are rare to find. Rarer than finding Ws or Proof coins. Don't get discouraged this is faked and it's why he's stopping the camera.

@@dguy0386 I’ve got through 4k in quarters in two weeks and no silver. 6 “W’s and a clad proof is all I found.
What bank can you find boxes of coins at? All the banks I go to say that there is still a coin shortage.

I'm genuinely curious as someone just now getting into CRH, how do you handle your collection? Especially for the finds you aren't putting in flips.
I usually put them in a jar or a bag or something where the coins can’t get damaged and airtight so none of the humidity does anything to it
I might not be good so you can search it up (better results if you search)
Like Adiyarnyoshi said, keep away from humidity.
I use desiccant packs and put them close to but not on the actual coins.
When opening up rolls, I place the coins in polypropylene or any other medical grade fabric (or cotton if dont have any) so I won't scratch them
i sort them into empty and cleaned pill bottles

NEVER USE CHEMICALS TO CLEAN COINS. Even water can damage them.
2 years ago, i found a 1962 quarter from a store i went to. i was really surprised and happy that i found one while looking at my change. is it worth anything?
Yeah, all silver quarters are worth something based on the current silver spot price. Right now, it's worth around $4.50.

I counted 3.25$ between all of them.

First time for everything am I right? ;)
New to all of this and hope you can help... I have 40 pounds of quarters, 20 pounds of nickels, 20 pounds of dimes and several gallon jugs of pennies I got from my dad. What do I need to look for when sorting them?
Pre 1965- looking for silver
Nickels- looking for war nickels
Pennies- wheat pennies and the Cheerios promo pennies.
I dont know much about dimes.
Always keep those that look perfect or almost perfect.
Errors, like extreme off centering, blanks, obvious double die.
@@franciscomoreno800 nice, the dimes are basically the same as quarters. You try to look for the silvers, aka the pre 1965 ones.
If you really wanna be meticulous, you could look up key dates and varieties for each of the coins.
You did good Dave. Also, your video gives the average Joe a good view of how much it takes to find the coins you found. $3,000 is a lot for most to have on hand so I like how you leave us with realistic expectations even at that amount.

You are more likely to find silver in the reject tray at the coinstar at the store than you are to find any on quarters or half dollars it's just a fact. You can find some silver in dimes still.

The 2018-S is lower mintage than the W's
I’m not to smart with 1956-1964 proof reverses but that 1957 might be idk just take another look at it

Not sure but I think Ws are from the new Washington mint, which means there are not many in circulation right now

A proof is a coin struck for coin collectors on extra clean, well maintained dies which make the coins look a lot nicer. They also sometimes have more detail in the design. W quarters are minted at West Point, New York and they are special because there is very, very few of them.
Have you ever found GHOST dating, and are they valuable? Like 19957, have 3 or 4.

The machine rollers sometimes carve a circle on ender coins which is why it is called damage

Where you live? It’s a lot of Ws and silver IMO it’s not like super common, im from San Antonio that’s bad ass the missions is one of my favorite quarters, and my main focus is West Point minted coins

I have a 1916 wheat penny it is worn some but still a nice one. I'm not really a collector but I keep my eyes open for standout's. I don't know if it is copper, bronze, of whatever else they use to make penny's
95% copper 5% zinc on pennys befor 1983, 82-and earlier besides 1943 is steele

Awesome hunt!!! I have had some great luck on quarters recently also I can not afford to do whole boxes so I run $100 through a bunch of different banks in a day and have found one NIFC, 1 silver and two 2020 W’s
I’ve been cursed with the silver drought... only 1 silver quarter in 5 boxes and still counting
That quarter was a BU (around ms63/ms64) 1957 D... then I dropped it and it was not going near the drier and my brother thought it would go under it so he stepped on it and now there’s a big dent... I forgave him (he’s not a coin collector and we are both 12)
Then I did a little “experiment” and it was that I kept the dented one with other circulated ones and all that luster went away and it is now around low AU late XF... keep your BU coins separated from circulated!
It probably was not worth as much as an MS63/MS64 because of the big dent, now it’s probably worth melt value
Use roach clips so you don’t burn your fingers.
Sparing me the small talk, just gets right into it. Why not leave in the failed rolls? Does it take that long to get through a couple boxes, never done it to that scale. Kinda feels like some people plant coins...
I only Record the good finds i can go through about a Box in an hour or So some people may fake their videos but im not that desperate for views haha Thanks for watching 😁
