In Persona 5 you get the Omnipotent Orb which nulls all damage except All Mighty fore the one that has it equipt. But the thing is the super boss does this one really cool attack that I wish my guy could do to so a better reward would be a skill card that teaches my Persona that attack. Somthing gamebreaking like an equipmeant that gives you unlimted Trance that you can take with in other Playthroughs New game Plus Style ore in KH 2 somthing that prevents Drive forms from running out. After the hardest boss they could give you stupid game breaking but Fun OP stuff. That would be fun.
Based on a variety of possible Kanji for Ozma's name in Japanese, and based on specific details about Ozma and how it functions visually and according to its script, I can hypothesize a lot about Ozma (if the devolpers intentionally named Ozma with even the mildest influence of Japanese etymology). Ozma's name essentially defines it as Space, or more specifically "The Peak Figure of Space", and based on its future reiterations, it must be the entity that created the Universe that Final Fantasy games happen in. It's abilities allude to creation of Time, Space, and Matter, the gifter of life and strength to mortals (Esuna Curaga) It is responsible for preparing the filament by wiping the slate clean (Death Curse and Mini) It has powers over both Dark Energy and Light Energy (Shadow Doomsday Holy) It is synoymous with the classical big bang, as upon death, thats exactly what it does. Man, Ozma is my favourite boss EVER! He's just an orb painted like ying-yang that doesn't need to be huge, monstruous or have TONS of HP to be tough. I like how they were creative with this one. The first time playing throught FF9 I didn't know about the friend quest thing and fought him 864736 times praying for the right algoritm to help me (Curse + Meteor, f*). And Doomsday, oh man Doomsday, the name said it all... healing it 9999 hp and damaging 9999 my entire party damm, it was cheap. I got my ass handed to me a LOT. I, now, know about the quest to weaken Ozma a little bit, but still, I think I prefer fighting him without that handicap. It's more challenging and more rewarding in the end. Anyways, I was stuck for a while, had to prepare for the fight, had to change party, change equipment, had to level up, etc.. and that really left an impression on me I think, probably because it was the first of my many RPGs frustrations, and I was just a kid back then. +Sylenis Holy dick. Ozma is by far one of the most annoying and difficult bosses in FFXIV for people new to Weeping City and that don't know his mechanics. My first time fighting him, the entire raid was new, and we wiped like 18 times on him. We timed out on last boss, which was killer.
An ancient being with a form long-forgotten, even to itself. It bends reality to its whim with unfathomable amounts of cosmic power. What mortal could dare stand against it and hope to win? And yet, it loses to a party of misfits by _blowing itself up._ Lovely.
I know when I versed Ozma, Quina was actually the best character to equip in your party if he had the blue magic "magic hammer" because it would lower his mp. THIS helped me out a TON because he could use most of his attacks. It would good have Zidane and Steiner be in trance because I could deal 9999 damage per hit. Haste is great so that you can attack him quicker. I had the other girl instead of Eiko to heal my party each round.
My team consisted of Zidane, Freya, Quina, and Vivi. I gave everyone shadow absorbing armor (except i forgot to give some to Quina) and I got pretty lucky. Ozma didn't use Meteor or Curse before I killed it. It used 2 Doomsdays which killed Quina, but since it Berserked Zidane, he kept shelling out 9999 damage in hits and Freya spammed DC. Battle went a lot shorter than I expected, I mean, I had Freya about to Jump with Trance with High Jump equipped. Even if Vivi and Z went down, Freya would be free and would be smashing Oz with damage.
I managed to beat him with a team of Zidane, Steiner, Quina and Dagger. Everyone had shadow absorbing equipment, plus, Zidane was at level 56 so he would use level 4 Holy instead of his stronger attacks, Steiner was at Level 50 so he used Level 5 Death for the same reason. Quina and Dagger were at 48 and 47. Zidane and Steiner had Auto-Life. Zidane used Thievery for 5000 damage, Steiner used Shock for 9999, Quina used Frog Drop for about 8000 and Dagger summoned Bahamut for about 4500 or was just supporting the party. It only took about five minutes because Ozma never used Meteor or Curse (Meteor = Game Over), but if he had used curse, I would've had Quina for Angel's Snack. Auto Potion on Zidane for the little animation so I can heal more from Auto-Regen. Fourth try, and first time fighting Ozma. I kinda hate him, but the battle was awesome.
Good guide and thanks for the detailed description. I remember seeing Ozma printed in some video game magazine or something when I was a kid probably back in 2001 and I was like what the hell is that blob? LOL Now I know from finally beating the game 20 years later on my PS4 just yesterday that Ozma is a lost Eidolon that assumed his sphere like appearance from his chaotic energy. I have yet to actually fight the boss on my own I beat every boss except Ozma and I'm actually kind of scared ha. Hopefully I can kick his butt and not have to fight him 50 plus times. Shit I even had trouble on Necron until I finally found Running Shoes and got all my characters using Auto Haste.
I saw a few other people mention this, but it is indeed a huge help to have shadow absorbtion on all of your characters, so your whole party will be healed when Ozma uses Doomsday. Sadly, it's been about 11 years since I've played this game, and I don't remember all of the skills that I used, but I can give you a basic idea, if you want to play with, what I though was, a strange formation. I used Zidane, Eiko, Amarant and Quina. Zidane and Amarant were my main damage dealers. I don't remember what I used on Zidane, but as the hero, he's easy enough to figure out. If I remember correctly, there is an island that can only be reached by airship, and there is a town there that sells higher level weapons. Buy 99 of the strongest one, and throw them using Amarant, and he'll hit for 8k or so each time. The main ability that I had Quina on the team for was Mighty Guard, and Eiko was the healer. On a side note, I just thought of a time when two of my friends were playing multiplayer, one controlled Zidane and Steiner, while the other controlled Vivi and Dagger. They were stuck on the Garland battle because they were too focused on dps. I took over the casters and they seemed to think that the concept of constant healing and buffing to be amazing. Of course, now as MMO players, they know well enough, but that's all it took. It was interesting to try playing it in a co-op style.
Also I really like how if you beat Ozma and then fight Hades he will be impressed and a bit scared by you. It's like the game knows how terrible Ozma is so they put some humor in there.XD
I can beat ozma 95% of times with my party at levels 70s. One multiples of 4 and 5 of course. Ozma will always use two attacks after you use two to three turns. So keep that in mind. Always have one to two guys just waiting to use remedy or gyshal greens. Have the other two guys inflict 9999. I use zidane, steiner, eiko, and amarant. Always use aura when someone doesnt have autolife. I do also have zidane steals so the thievory does max damage. This fight is about making the right decisions and countering. Make sure eiko has guardian mog. That may help a lot just incase. But victory isn't always obtainable. Sometimes metior will hit all for 9999 and then curse right after. Only time when I will lose and gusridan mog doesn't activate. Curse and then meteor is managble.
Also have shadow absorbent and the level 4 holy user have holy absorb as well. I think pumic piece doss both. If you did the sidequest have amarant have return magic. That will do two 9999 damage to omza. But I think that's the easy way and I didn't find it as enjoyable.
Is that just me or do the textures of this boss look like someone took a random conceptart from Yoshitaka Amano and stretched it over a sphere ? compare the light half with any of Amanos brighter artpieces
Yes, Ozma is doable at level 1 but he's never easy to kill. I mean, one combo can kill you before you can do anything. It happens rarely, but when it does, there nothing you can do. I've gotten lucky and killed him easily after trying more than 60 times first. He's a total pushover if he uses his worst moves and you never does Curaga...
@Hate24 I never played the Advance version of FFV, but based on what I've seen from videos, they nerfed the crap out of that game, like they did for FFI & FFII Advance remakes. So I would assume no. I'm pretty sure Omega in the original FFV was the hardest, I have a video on it, he can just randomly end your party with a chain of OHKOs and member removal move.
@Twilightrocks - Yup. And the Ozma card really isn't all that great. But it seems to be a common theme with beating superbosses in FF games. Aside from bragging rights, you usually end up with nothing. FFXII is an exception. Killing Yiazmat gives you 1 of 2 items needed to synthesize the greatest weapon in the game, but by then there's no real point in using it
once u level up your chars to lvl97 having garnet or eiko in party for healing zidane and steiner with the 4rth optional is a piece of cake .. curse is the only problem as long as i remember... carefull NOT to lvl up further from 97 and not lower cause ozma has all multicasts like lvl 5 death so u need to carefull on your lvl multiplier
for me is the easiest secret or final boss of all finals fantasy, it was dead in five minuts. You only have to have a good defense against his curses, auto-life in everyone and 2 warriors that can inflict 9999 each one...
Everyone who claims this boss is easy is because they likely did the 'Friendly Monsters Quest'. After successful completion of this quest Ozma is vulnerable to normal physical attacks and Doomsday. This makes it not only much easier to defeat him, but certain strategies can now be utilized that essentially makes Ozma kill himself.
Defeating this boss was extremely difficult. I've never had so much trouble or used so many tries with any other superboss in the Final Fantasy series than Ozma, even FFVII Emerald Weapon and FFVIII Omega Weapon were easier.
Some context clues exist. First it location is oddly in an eidolon cave. Which makes it a summon. Yet some stated its energy is not of this world. Due to how eidolon is based off belief in ff9, people may have forgotten who or what ozma is or suppose to look like. Making it a swirling ball of energy. Some ppl theorized ozma could have been another powerful eidolon a counterpart to the ark. As it does drop a a complete pumice upon defeat.
Ozma is said to have been an Eidolon that was so powerful and dangerous that it had been sealed away, meant to be forgotten. And that's exactly what happened. There is nobody left to remember what this Eidolon is supposed to be or what it's supposed to look like, that it has reverted into a mass of chaotic energy.
Struggled a lot with this boss. Eventually leveled up Quina and Frog Dropped him to death. Only thing that I could find that significantly hurt it! I still question the design today. So the hardest boss in the game is a giant ball? No other designs were available? Um ok.
Ozma (IX) or Neo Shinryu (FFV advance)(I found Neo Shinryu MUCH harder than Enuo). I honestly don't know which is harder. Probably Ozma, but not by much. Chac (FFX-2), Chronodia (FFI), and Ruby Weapon (FFVII) would be honorable mentions
Haha, that's exactly how i beat this..freaking hard boss. I always prayed for it not doing Curse + Meteor, and that Curaga. Yet I always keep a file before this boss so I can fight it again, it's pretty fun to beat it. Do you think this could be done on a Low Level Challenge? If it is possible, it must be a patience test..Looking forward for Kuja and Necron!
Do you feel that Ozma is even harder than Enuo from FFV advance? granted this seems like an incredibly hard battle. (I sorta feel ashamed for not playing ff9) but from personal experience, I found Enuo really frustrating.
how do you do this??? do you have to have all the chocographs first? because the only way i can walk around the sky garden is through hot and cold minigame
Every time Ozma used curse it could have resulted in a wipe. When he used death if it had not targeted Steiner that would have been a wipe. When he casted Meteor that could have very easily been a wipe. Overall, he was very lucky. Very very lucky.
I just hate how FF9 made some of their moves entirely luckbased, rng. You are at the mercy of luck on Comet and Curse at for absurd reasons gravity based attack can kill you
It's not really difficult. Having one character with nullifyig holy rather then absorb, and it's level dividible by 4 makes Ozma cast lv 4 holy which is really weak. Next tip is having one character with level dividible by 5- it makes Ozma cast lv 5 death instead of rampaging meteor or curse. Albo you can use "tent trick" to inflict darkness on it, so it will use esuna in one turn instead of mentioned meteor or curse. That's all I figured out myself.
Had they given ozma the same hp as omega or weapons in previous installments of ff. He would've been as difficult as them. It only has like 60 or 70 thousand as opposed to weapons having like 1 mil to 10 mil for weapons.
That's because you can use skills that attack multiple times in those games though. Lionheart attacks a whopping 18 times so of course Omega needs 1 million HP to be a challenge.

Xiii and xiii-2 were the last 2 to have it in a long time. World of FF brought it back and it was never seen again.
Kinda sad really
Final Fantasy VII Remake 👌
@@Matthew.Niverse You mean Disney-Free Kingdom Hearts?
Kind of made me think of The Winged Dragon of Ra's Sphere. I really thought it would morph itself or open up during the fight
SirBlackMage
I know that feeling! Luck is a pretty big part of this fight, I noticed.
8:50 WHOOPS!!!
When he uses Meteor you know you're gonna lose
Christian Giuliano think it does random damage or if your party is a multiple of 2
Christian Giuliano think it does random damage or if your party is a multiple of 2
Freya is such a BEAST
+Raptor Lewis Manipulating a script? Yeah ok. xD
Also I really like how if you beat Ozma and then fight Hades he will be impressed and a bit scared by you. It's like the game knows how terrible Ozma is so they put some humor in there.XD
My party: Zidane, Dagger, Vivi, Eiko.
Ozma: What a weak party.
....
....
...
Ozma: Impossible.
I remember the first time I beat Ozma. I was like "how do you like them apples"
0:13 IT'S A BALL!!!
It looks like something I'd create those cool swirl of colors like it was liquid metal or something.
There's actually these certain armors that can heal them rather than kill them from doomsday, that's how I won the battle with ozma
Is that just me or do the textures of this boss look like someone took a random conceptart from Yoshitaka Amano and stretched it over a sphere ? compare the light half with any of Amanos brighter artpieces
I hate curse I dont know if the attack has high damage or simply hit the occasional instant death?
Yes, Ozma is doable at level 1 but he's never easy to kill. I mean, one combo can kill you before you can do anything. It happens rarely, but when it does, there nothing you can do. I've gotten lucky and killed him easily after trying more than 60 times first. He's a total pushover if he uses his worst moves and you never does Curaga...
Omg! A giant marble!
Killing Yiazmat gives you 1 of 2 items needed to synthesize the greatest weapon in the game, but by then there's no real point in using it
You fogot to mention how attacking him when he's not mid animation will fill his ATB gauge and he'll execute an attack
once u level up your chars to lvl97 having garnet or eiko in party for healing zidane and steiner with the 4rth optional is a piece of cake .. curse is the only problem as long as i remember... carefull NOT to lvl up further from 97 and not lower cause ozma has all multicasts like lvl 5 death so u need to carefull on your lvl multiplier
THE SAME PARTY I USED AT THE FINAL BOSS AND TRANCE KUJA !
for me is the easiest secret or final boss of all finals fantasy, it was dead in five minuts. You only have to have a good defense against his curses, auto-life in everyone and 2 warriors that can inflict 9999 each one...
Really? Omega Weapon in FF8 was way more easier. Cast aura, use Lionheart few times and you got one dead boss.
what's your level while u fighting against ozma? to me is one of the hardest optional superboss @@
My strategy back then : 3 defensive toons, and Quina did all the damage with his frog drop (gotta eat 150 frogs to ensure 9999 damage).
Defeating this boss was extremely difficult. I've never had so much trouble or used so many tries with any other superboss in the Final Fantasy series than Ozma, even FFVII Emerald Weapon and FFVIII Omega Weapon were easier.
What even is this thing? And how do you maintain the focus to continue when 3/4 of your team is fallen?
I made sure I was super op buy the time I hit level 100 before facing him
i wonder what ozma actually is, as far as i know there aint an explination
Some context clues exist. First it location is oddly in an eidolon cave. Which makes it a summon. Yet some stated its energy is not of this world.
Due to how eidolon is based off belief in ff9, people may have forgotten who or what ozma is or suppose to look like. Making it a swirling ball of energy.
Some ppl theorized ozma could have been another powerful eidolon a counterpart to the ark. As it does drop a a complete pumice upon defeat.
DOOMSDAY LOOKS SICK!!! but that was broken as hell
The strong's weakness? It's their own power.
I'm not versed in the FF universe at all. What exactly is Ozma?
Ozma is said to have been an Eidolon that was so powerful and dangerous that it had been sealed away, meant to be forgotten. And that's exactly what happened. There is nobody left to remember what this Eidolon is supposed to be or what it's supposed to look like, that it has reverted into a mass of chaotic energy.
Taross Blackburn Thanks!
According to FF wiki, all the monster stats in FF5 Advance are the same as before...
If it is possible, it must be a patience test..Looking forward for Kuja and Necron!
wait what happened did he kill himself?
Do you feel that Ozma is even harder than Enuo from FFV advance? granted this seems like an incredibly hard battle. (I sorta feel ashamed for not playing ff9) but from personal experience, I found Enuo really frustrating.
LOve how Steiner had 'counter' and didnt do shit
wait a sec at the end is that final fantasy 7 gaia? the map look like it. I only got to the 2nd disc of 9
i love moogles
So after all that, the overgrown blitzball caused its own death?
how do you do this??? do you have to have all the chocographs first? because the only way i can walk around the sky garden is through hot and cold minigame
yeah all the chocograph pieces
This game needs to be remade or ported.
Every time Ozma used curse it could have resulted in a wipe. When he used death if it had not targeted Steiner that would have been a wipe. When he casted Meteor that could have very easily been a wipe. Overall, he was very lucky. Very very lucky.
Welcome to Ozma. He's a pretty luck based fight, aside from AI manipulation strats.
Eiko's Phoenix could've been used when everyone but her died!
And that's when you say, "I did everything so now what?" lol
If you think this is hard, you should look at the Demi-Fiend Boss fight From Digital Devil Saga 1.
Completely irrelevant. This is the Final Fantasy Series were talking about.
@alexandercns Look up my video vs him. The second part of the video shows what Omega is capable of if he feels like ending you.
Watching the cheAting versions on YT, this is a fucking good effort
Had they given ozma the same hp as omega or weapons in previous installments of ff. He would've been as difficult as them. It only has like 60 or 70 thousand as opposed to weapons having like 1 mil to 10 mil for weapons.
That's because you can use skills that attack multiple times in those games though. Lionheart attacks a whopping 18 times so of course Omega needs 1 million HP to be a challenge.
lawr11 Even then you needed like 5-6 Lionhearts and it wasn't a for sure thing to come out.
AsusanXT Well if you used Meltdown you only need two Lionhearts if you have everyone else using their Limit Breaks
if he had 1 mil hp, he wouldn't be beatable.
Who's harder this or Nemesis? The bosses in FFxii were hard as fuxx too.
So is the omega weapon of this installment?
ICEGOD2 Nope. None of the weapons are.
I lost because of curse.I hate it.
The only other boss tha'ts harder than Ozma is Chuck Norris.
Think you could do the Yiazmat boss from Final Fantasy XII?
Only used meteor once in the whole fight. Some people get all the easy fights aye 😉
OH great pumice and dark matter, thanks
Dracon crest comes from which weapon?
Holy Lance
Epic!!
*couldn't* I meant
This boss is ridiculously strong much worst than omega weapon
Im here because of ozma encounter on ffVII
