I find this exciting because a lot of people like the gx4 over the g3c but preferred the g3c because of the safety. This is great for people who wants something more modern yet budget with a safety. I'm buying one. Everyone is entitled to their opinion
It’s funny that people get pissed when Glock doesn’t make any significant changes. But Taurus totally revamps an over decade old design and everyone gets mad. Y’all are crazy
To understand why this happens, you need to observe how UA-cam works. If a UA-camr makes a simply "normal" video, it will get "x" views and comments. If there's some controversy, the tendency is to get more views and especially more comments. The more comments and views, the more the video will be "distributed" by the platform, bringing more visits to the channel. If the UA-camr sticks to the same old thing, they tend to get fewer views... and competition is fierce in the world of videos. 👍
A Glock is one of the most issued and carried gun in most countries. The gen 5 is 10 times better than the 3. It’s on every approved list anywhere as an approved carry weapon. Taurus is cheap garbage not on any approved list. You’d be laughed oofff the job working security with a Taurus Stop being poor.
It’s an inexpensive option that might appeal to first time gun buyers. That’s it. Why tf is anyone getting their panties in a twist over the next $250 Taurus?
I kind of stopped watching " guntubers" awhile ago because most all of them either became entertainers or are just in it for a cash grab and are completely Disingenuous. I am Grateful this man is still doing it . Pretty much my go to for info !
Dan has a good honest straightforward unbiased channel. He's one of the very few genuine good ones. Like myself I'm not even monetized and don't have sponsors not really interested in any because why then you owe them something. Of course at this point I am a flea in the face of UA-cam but it is what it is. Honesty and real information that people can use. I also agree with Dan on his take with this pistol it's very vanilla a good pistol yeah, something to get excited over no. It looks like a G2C and a GX4 did the hippity pippity and this is what came out. And then you have all these gun tubers with their vested interests selling it like it's oh my God look at this new groundbreaking concept 😂.
@@nelhead4807guys trying to make a living can't blame him. It's your job to read between the lines. I watch him so I can look at his commando face when he shoots. You got to admit it is kind of funny, not trying to insult the guy it's just funny.
Dan, having worked in a large, very well stocked gun store, I can tell you the Taurus pistols outsell the Glocks, HK, Springfields, SIGs, Rugers, S&Ws by 10 to 1 at least. We were getting G2Cs delivered 20 at a time and usually they were sold before they arrived. Virtually none were ever returned as defective. Most of the customers coming in to by their first (perhaps ONLY) firearm are VERY attracted to the the price. They look at the others and they can't 'see' any difference. They don't care about triggers, sights, red dots, optics ready, interchangeable back straps, etc., etc., etc. They just don't. More bourgeois gun owners would buy one (or two) for a 'spare', for a drawer gun, for a glove compartment gun. How many Taurus handguns do you own, Dan? No one is going to run out and trade their G2C for it, but I think this is more of a phased replacement for the G2C than a separate option. Just as the G2C was a replacement for the PT111 G2. There was virtually no difference between those either. The error Taurus made with this one is not continuing with Mecgar magazines. I believe that is going to cause them issues. Is it underwhelming? Well, yes...in the same way ANY polymer frame, striker fired, 12-14 round 9mm handgun in 2025 is. The virtually identical HK CC9 is just as underwhelming, but costs three times as much. This one will sell like hot cakes.
The G2C’s came with Brazil mags. Never an issue. Yes this is supposed to phase out the G2/G3 lineup with GX ergos. Not too hard to understand. In any case, Taurus can always go back to mecgar for mag production
GX4 Carry 15 round MecGar Magazine fits good in GX2, just need to change the base plate. ua-cam.com/video/kXqrfHJ7noI/v-deo.htmlsi=sm_1QUqze-oA5dRc&t=142
I agree probably to replace the g2c and it’s being made in Brazil so they can keep the low price point. Probably can not make the g2c here for that price anymore.
It's simple to me. Taurus is refreshing their line. The G2 and G3 pistols are being replaced by the GX. Taurus can streamline their product line. Makes sense. Exciting? Does anybody remember the 2012 Toyota RAV4. The 2013 RAV4? They were decent cars, but I would rather buy a 2025.
I didn’t have a Taurus at all. So I got the GX2 last week. Did some range time. About 250 rounds of blazer target ammo. I love it so far. Zero malfunctions. The grip is the best feel I’ve ever had in my hand. The thinness combined with the swell in the right places is money. The slide is a little stiff to charge/rack. Compared to my glocks. But other than that. Zero complaints. It’s a good shooter.
I think Taurus released the GX2 for a really budget pistol with a chassis system for people just getting started with pistols for protection that don’t want or need the bells and whistles of more expensive pistols.
Personally I think it's what some people have been asking for, a G3C style gun with the TX22 grip frame feel with the GX4 trigger system and here it is. I have both the G2C and G3C and love them but lets face it the triggers suck, to much take up and they break to far back. I'm not going to run out and buy one but I will get one down the road.
This is true, at least for me, when looking for a new "budget" EDC. I'm interested in the G3C, but am not a fan of the trigger. I like the trigger on the GX4, but it feels too small for my hand. The GX2 looks to be a happy medium, and would be a strong contender, especially if the price is right.
Mark my words, the GX2 is going to be a massive success. It is built on the GX4 platform. As Taurus releases more SKU’s of the GX2 with optics-ready options, ported/comped slides, & modular grip frames at roughly *half* the cost of its competition, people will buy them. Taurus won’t be able to manufacture them fast enough. People won’t care about rough machining as long as the guns are durable, reliable, comfortable, sexy looking, & inexpensive. All indications are that Taurus nailed all of these things. A street price of $250 for the introductory SKU of the GX2 was wise as it makes adoption very appealing to increasingly cost-minded consumers. Lastly, the G2C might be going away but being that Taurus released multiple SKU’s of the G3 platform fairly recently, I think those will remain.
Good point, too much complaining about not much. As if all those different Glock models are really necessary... they are same old, same old. It's about revenue for all of those gun manufacturers. If you like to try out a new clone, like the GX2, then do it. I have several Taurus models, each offers a little bit of a different thing. So, it's a collector thing. Don't have the money, don't buy. Feel comfortable with your current firearm, then stick with it (until it's really out of date, and then it all starts over again). Ok, I am having fun a little bit. Enjoy the discussion and explore the options.
The Bubits designed Taurus TS9 is a truly innovative pistol with real improvements such as a low tilt barrel, side ejection, and an ultra tall extractor claw for reliability. It’s been adopted by Brazilian military forces and Philippine police after 20,000rd trial testing. I own a pair of TS9 pistols and they are the very best Taurus pistols in my opinion. There is a compact TS9C version available in Brazil. Taurus needs to bring it to the US as it would be a genuine upgrade for the large base of G2C/G3C aficionados.
I think they're going to sell like hotcakes! I would not get rid of my GX4 Carry, Shield Plus or any other firearm but at such a low cost of entry ill get one, especially since it can use GX4 mags. Appreciate you Dan! #2A🔫
I ordered the stainless version of the GX2 a few days ago. I'd always considered Taurus to make good budget pistols but never bought one because they never had all of the features I wanted but they really pulled out the stops on the GX2. It's amazing how many features they could implement without running up the cost. My application is the most pistol I can put in my rear pocket. Optics ready isn't an option that interests me for this application but there are some good lights, lasers and light/laser combos that will fit nicely on that three slot rail. I wish it didn't have an external safety but that can probably be safely deleted. I may black powder coat the stainless slide. You may not understand why Taurus made the GX2, but it may have been to finally compel potential customers such as myself to buy a Taurus handgun. Small size but relatively high capacity. Deep beaver tail cut for lower bore axis and low muzzle flip. Three slot Picatinny rail under the barrel. Drop free mags that are easy to insert. Lots of attention to ergonomics.
A GX4 Carry is in my CCW rotation and I carry it more than any other gun. I love it. I'm not going to buy the GX2 but maybe someone low on cash or looking for their first CCW will.
I jumped into Taurus at the gx4 mark. Never wanted anything else because gx4 is awesome! Now they brought gx4 features to gx2. I’m interested only because of this, to be honest. Great idea!
I couldn’t disagree more. I am very excited about this release. I have been a Taurus handgun person for many years. Owned the G3, GX4 and still own a G2S and TX22 along with several Taurus revolvers. I like the G3 and G2 series especially for dry fire practice with their double strike triggers. I still own a G2S just for that even though I don’t much like that trigger group except for the double strike. I liked the GX4 trigger a lot. I didn’t care for the recoil on any of the G series or the cheap sights. I am a huge fan of the TX22 and longtime owner. The GX2 frame reminds me of the TX22. I love that TX22 frame and always wondered what it would be like in 9mm. The range reports that I have read and seen all comment about how flat shooting and well behaved recoil wise the GX2 is. So maybe the GX2 with its TX22 ergonomics, GX4 trigger, G2C size and capacity and manual safety which I like, will be just the ticket for me when I get to try one out. Sorry it’s a nothing burger for you Dan.
me too until recently when it got stolen from my night stand, or lack of a proper stand. I plan on getting another when it's on sale. People shouldn't be tossing it under the bus. Ironically if they did rerelease the G3 or 4 in 30sc it would have made since with the simple barrel and rod swap than try to place the G2 line with non compatible mags. The same people who will poo poo the idea of a 30sc ignore the fact that 40s are already made in the G series
G3C is the pinnacle. Inexpensive, but not cheap, uses common sights, takes SIG magazines, and the engineering and design is similar to every striker gun on the planet. Mine just runs.
@THORR-mh9px my buddy that's a Glock Fanboy said it was a piece of shit it was going to jam. So I said okay let's see how many rounds it will run reliably without jamming. Years later it still hasn't jammed. And I keep counting🤷♂️ the Taurus g-series of pistols are phenomenal guns. Just as reliable as anything else on the market. At a third of the price. My buddy just got a glock 26 and it's jams every magazine
I personally own almost all of the pistols you just showed and I love all of them. I might have to disagree with you on the GX2, putting the GX4 trigger is what the G3C lacked
Yes, I have a G3c and it is good for what it is. The trigger is OK for a defensive pistol but so differant than other striker pistols I own. The GX2 uses the newer GX4 trigger group(good) and has a longer barrel & grip the original GX4 (good). 13 plus one and a longer barrel for less money than the GX4(great). Not trading in my G3c but more than likely buying a GX2 it proves reliable.
The purpose of this launch is to replace their G2c/g3c line. It’s an update to a decade old design that sells for 250 bones. It aligns their basic no frills gun line with their more premium conceal carry gun that everyone loves.
👍👍Thanks Dan. Sometimes I think they just throw stuff out there because they run out of good ideas and they feel like they have to put out a so called new product. Hope you’re having a great day Dan.
The problem is, that the US market is so demanding, that is starts to demand dumb things, not only in this case but in other brands, products. Just look at the car industry, most have nice designs, but don´t work well... this could happen to the weapond industry.
I have said for years now that if Taurus took the design cues from the TX22 and slapped them into the G series pistols it would make an already popular okay pistol even better. The Taurus TX22 out sells virtually every other .22 caliber semi-auto pistol on the market and not because of price but rather it is that stinking good. People love the ergonomics, grip texture, and overall reliability as well as capacity. The GX4 was intended to compete in the micro market and it does it rather well. People were wowed by how decent the trigger is and asked why the G series couldn't do away with the double strike trigger for something as good as the GX4 was sporting. Well the GX2 is that pistol that many have been hoping Taurus would release. It is not overwhelming but I promise you it is going to sell and probably pretty well as long as it will eventually provide options for optics, suppressors, and such. Let's face it the PT 111/G series is to a degree dated and probably reached its pinnacle in advancements beside offering a non double strike trigger from the factory.
It’s meant to phase out the G2/G3 lineup moving forward, just as the pt111 was phased out by the G2 and then the G3. Not sure what’s hard to understand. Moving forward I’m sure they’ll have toro option and possibly go back to mecgar, but the original pt111 and G2C Brazilian mags were fine. Future customer base will appreciate getting into the new lineup that has GX4 ergos..not rocket science here
Personally I am kinda bummed that we never got a g3 g3c with a decocker. Taurus moved away from the decocker after the 24/7 but the g2 and g3 trigger systems were basically the same functionally as the old 24/7, millennium pro, 709 slim, restrike systems. To add the decocker back into the mix would have been easy peasy.
The G3C is my first gun and my carry gun. I love it and range practice with it at least monthly. I see the GX2 as a replacement for the G2C and a pathway for Taurus to raise the price of the G3C and it’s variants by say $50 each while still maintaining a quality low, low, price entry level gun.
I don't own a Taurus and I like what I see in it. I noticed you did not mention that the gun performs poorly. Given that I like the grip on it better then the Gx4 I am inclined to try it.
I think a lot has to do with how comfortable one feels with a particular firearm. If it feels awkward, then it's not for you. I like the G3X, because it has the good parts of the G2 and G3, a full grip, higher capacity. Despite the still short barrel, it shoots well for me, smoothly, accurately and dependably. That's what I need in a good gun, should I ever have to protect myself. The rest is 'toying' around and collecting.
Sig started this “minor variation of the week” deal. Nobody has enough dough to keep trading in for minor marketing adjustments. I held out and got the g4. Pull the trigger-bang. Good sights and fits my hand. About all I need. My 9mm collection is already too big anyway. I like the way Hk does it. Make a high quality product and stick with it. Nice vid.
If i'm neither a G3c owner nor a GX4 owner, but looking to buy my first Taurus or first firearm in general, I might consider the GX2. I don't see anything wrong with the GX2.
I have to agree with you Dan. I have a G2C and a G3C (your reviews helped me decide to get them). They're nice, I really like them, and they're are part of my carry options. But from what I've seen so far about the GX2, I don't see anything to gain by getting one. However, if I didn't already have the others, then the GX2 would be something to consider. So maybe the GX2 is aimed at people who don't already have the others.
I mean, I’ll go get the GX2. I have the G2C, G3C G3 full size and a butt load of their revolvers. I like Taurus hand guns. They’ve never let me down. My Glock let me down over the weekend at the range and I do believe it was magazine malfunction. But, no Taurus has ever and I do mean ever let me down. That’s why I’m gonna keep buying them.
I have Taurus G2 9mms..with Seismic 185gr rounds that are more powerful than a .45 and 40 caliber and Taurus are said to be one of the Best.. Self opinionated bs doesn't work anymore... All you have to do is research on the computer..I would never give my Taurus 9mms up for any Glock
Im glad they made the GX2. I've wanted a G2 or G3 with a GX4 trigger. I love the g3 but hate the trigger. And I usually carry hammer fired so with a striker i like a safety and dont care about optics. So ill probably try a GX2. Always enjoy TFG👍
Honestly if they can give us the gx4 trigger for the g3c price that would sit pretty well with me. The gx4 and g3c are both "budget" guns, but the gx4 (especially depending on which one you get) can creep up in price a little more than the g3c. I like the G3 series in theory, and I get the attraction of wanting what is effectively a double action striker fired pistol, but I'm really not a fan of the trigger and heavily prefer the gx series for the trigger alone. I probably won't switch personally, but I can see recommending this to people wanting their first taurus who also don't like the G3 trigger.
I understand your beef. They already have pistols to do the job(s) this one does. I'm not TOO excited about this for that reason. I currently have the G2C, G3C, and GX4 (my wife's EDC) and have recently gifted a G3 and a G2C. Fantastic, utilitarian platform for cheap. Great! But I see it like car manufacturers that keep a model almost exactly the same for 8 years but by year 5 they redesign the grill and tail lights to make it seem like a new release. Or perhaps that's what the G3C was and this is the "8-year" redesign like a car that suddenly is very different. The 1st macro-generation had 3 MICRO-generations - the Millennium series. The 2nd Gen had the PT111>G2C>G3C. It's time for a refresh and the GX platform is already there AND popular. This is the replacement for those, but it is on a thinner-profile, chassis-based platform that WILL be expanded on and be more versatile than the G series. Also, the plan for this is to be a "happy medium" like the G3C and kind of a catch-all for everyone that's not going for the smaller GX4 or the larger GX4 Carry (and wants the manual safety). The thing IS 12 whole years newer in design and technology that the G series. It was time. Also, the $309(?) MSRP is incredible and the obvious selling point. Who is going to fork over $250 for a G series when they can fork over $250 for the new design? Yeah, there will be some. I prefer the 2 to the 3 because of the rear sights. But this is how they'll flood the market with the new "best seller." Now - what *I* am most excited for with this release, is eventually we will have a market flooded with lightly-used G2Cs and G3Cs that will go for LESS than they are going now (or remain the same as other prices creep upward). And I'll still be happy to score this GX2 in 4 or 5 years when it is being reworked and released. I believe it will be a great gun, and better than the G series (which is also great). But... it's just an update/replacement that's not all that exciting otherwise. I do think it looks sharp - like the GX4 Carry and TH9 had a baby. 🤪
Yeah. I was thinking it was a new G4X but then they said G2x and I was really confused because it favored the G4X soooooo much. Sticking with my hellcat and Stoeger 9mc for now. Good to see people being honest about it instead of blowing smoke.
I suspect Taurus will eventually replace the G3C and G2C lines with the GX2 line. The GX2 follows the GX4 style .... I think it is probably a good idea for Taurus.
What Taurus did was correct the shortcomings of the G2C and G2S which the GX2 is intended to replace. They integrated the features of the G3 and GX4 that people liked into the new pistol. I call it evolution of the design. I will be buying a GX2. Not to replace my G2S or my G3X but as another addition to my gun collection that I will love shooting and carrying.
Taurus's Underwhelming GX2 Launch - TheFirearmGuy I am satisfied with the G2c that I am invested in and saw no reason to get a G3c just for the upgrades. I see even less reason to get a GX2 just for the single action trigger. Taurus is looking to replace the G series DA/SA restrike trigger with the GX series SAO trigger and that is what all this comes down to. I agree with you, Dan. But I think they are trying to get away from the DA/SA restrike trigger to a SAO trigger like everybody else. Yes the GX2 is not needed with the GX4 line already in production that is virtually the same type of pistol. I still think its about dropping the G series for the GX series so they want a comparable size pistol for a replacement to their benchmark G2c and G3c. I am happy with my 856 +P Defender three inch snub. Any barrel less than four inches is considered a snub. I will carry it over an auto because even though I shoot autos well I shoot revolvers better and shot placement is everything. I still carry my autos in some situations but will carry the revolver over them if I can.
I finally broke down and tried Taurus again after having three ruin my opinion yrs ago. Now after all these pod nobbers, saying they’ve turned around I tried a th 10. Out of the first 140 rounds one out of every 5 had NO primer strike what so ever. And seven times out of that 140 the hammer fallowed the the slide back up after cycling. Still waiting for Taurus’s answer on what they’re doing about it. If anything.
IDK, I like the texturing on the slide, the manual safety, 2 13rnd mags, The multi slot picatinny rail, are you sure you're not being a lil tough on them? I do not own a Taurus but I do like them even tho they get a bad rap from time to time.
I think it's pretty simple the G2/G3 Line is aging so Taurus is phasing that line out. Taurus is streamlining/modernizing their product line replacing the G2/G3 line with their new GX2/GX3 line. Now the GX3 hasn't come out yet but I wouldn't be surprised if they release that soon. Still nothing wrong with the G2/G3 line of pistols they work but they are a bit dated when you looks at what's out there on the market.
I’m with you. I have owned around 10 Taurus handguns. Four months ago I bought my second G2C , this one in 40 to go with my G2C 9. I like them both a lot. A LOT. However, I am totally with you, I am not going to run to the shop and replace either of my G2C’s. Why would I? I have two really good, comfortable, genuinely easy and pleasant to shoot Taurus G2C’s of basically the same dimensions as the new GX2. The G2C is a fantastic carry gun as it is. Why would i throw down another 250 for another Taurus carry gun, then I would have to buy night sights for it. Then I would have to go through at least 500 rounds of ammo to be able to trust it. I already have that in my G2C 9. I don’t have time nor do i want to spend more money to get another Taurus carry gun, all for one additional round capacity. I am essentially underwhelmed as well.
@@TheFirearmGuyWhat if you didn't own a G2c already? Would you like the grip and trigger better on the new Gx2 and buy it over the G2c for the same price? I honestly can't get excited over any new compact 9m pistol. This GX2 does interest me though. 13 plus 1 is the sweet spot in grip lenght for me and a 3.2-3.5in barrel is just right for carry. Hope it proves reliable.
@@johncadloni4538 I am actually fine with the G2C trigger. No complaints as I am not looking for a match trigger with a defensive gun. The fit of the gun is perfect in my hands so I don’t really want it to be shorter or longer. And while more is always better I am happy with the 12+1 capacity in 9mm. More ammo means more weight so its 13 rounds are my happy medium. I actually use a lighter weight bullet (with high velocity) for defensive ammo to keep it as lightweight as possible. I have not held a GX2 in my hands but I am not running out to the gun shop to check it out because of all the reasons why I am content with the G2C.
It's meant to be an improved version of a good budget price gun. Every year, something improves, and like Glock, which has looked basically the same since the 80s, it just gives you a new small improvement.
The point of the gx2 launch is to give you the gx4 features at g2c prices. I do feel they will phase the g2c out after this. Because the gx4 is a slightly higher price bracket especially the gx4 carry model which I feel this is closer to in size. example (g2c 219 beans at my local shop gx4 is 409 beans)
I think folks misunderstand ahere this falls in the Taurus lineup. I think this replaces the G2c only which is why it is not optic ready. The G3C and all the GX4 variants will still exists.
Since you have all of them. Does the grip on the GX2 feels the same as the GX4 or the TX22? If it feels exactly like the TX22, there is your answer about exciting release. I will wait for the GX2 TORO though.
Thank you Dan, I was asking myself this exact question all weekend, what is the big earth shattering innovation with this gun? Watched a bunch of other you tube videos this weekend and all others are acting like its a big deal. Taurus is saying its the replacement for the G2c. Seems like artificial marketing to me.
My G3c's are fantastic -- comfortable, accurate, reliable, inexpensive. I have no reason to want to go out and buy this. Now if they made a modular FCU and released a bunch of grips, that would at least be interesting.
I think it's exciting because I like the gx4 I have one but I don't carry it because I don't like carrying without a safety. I love the g2c and think the g3c is phenomenal. I have been wanting a g3c with a gx4 trigger or a gx4 with the safety. For a while now and they've kind of merged the two. So I'm excited I'm definitely picking one up
I don’t necessarily disagree, but you could’ve made the same argument when the G3 C came out. The G2 C already filled that role. I agree it’s not an exciting release and it’s not a compelling product. It does show that they haven’t forgotten how to put a takedown lever on firearm though. I’d be more excited if they came out with a version of the GX 4 that had a takedown lever. So having said that if they follow up with a rebate offer on this like they had on the G3 C and the GX 4 a couple years ago, I’ll pick one up no doubt. I tend to stage these inexpensive. Taurus pistols around the house for immediate access. Another one would be welcome. I already have a couple of G3C and a couple of GX 4. Specifically for staging around the home.
What magazines interchange with the GX2? The Taurus website link for "accessories" is grayed out at the moment, and no reviewer I've seen has yet bothered to try other magazines.
@@photobyseat . . I have not seen that review. Thank you, that's good to know. I just think it's self defeating of Taurus to release it without their website offering any meaningful information on it. The day it was released, and I saw a video informing me of it's existence. I went straight to the website, and it didn't even offer basic specs. Barrel length, capacity, action, safety, . . nothing. It's just weird, imo.
My first 9 mm was G3C now I have a GX four which has a better trigger. The G3 C has been totally reliable with a little bit heavier and I prefer to carry the GX four maybe they’re strategy is one day replace the G3C with the GX two
I have the GX4 and it’s in my carry rotation I am interested in the Taurus carry also too. The GX2 will sell like crazy I have seen reviews on the GX2 all where good so far. But it’s just like everything else everyone needs too try the gun and see and form their own opinions on it.
Taurus updated their PT22 not so long ago. The G2 is now getting updated. I see nothing wrong with that. Walther moved on from their PPQ and gave us the PDP. It happens. Still like my PPQ, still went out and got a PDP. I think Taurus will sell plenty of their new GX2.
I think the goal is to turn more heads to Taurus and i think its going to work. I like that gun but not more than my G2c and g3 only because i can fit them in conversion kit and I want the double strike capability. I think all these functions should be basic on all guns. along thumb safeties to complete the pistol conversion.
Pretty sure I showed you about 10 Taurus handguns

Some people are all about brand name. I have yet to see a criminal ask what you using to shoot at me.
I honestly think this is a win for Taurus. Only thing they could have done differently was to retain mag compatibility from the G 2/3.
I absolutely agree
It’s an inexpensive option that might appeal to first time gun buyers. That’s it. Why tf is anyone getting their panties in a twist over the next $250 Taurus?

I get that point. I hear you Gary. Thanks. Btw, I own two more than I showed
Good insights. I thought the g3c was the replacement for the g2c? Did not the g3c have a better trigger?
I agree probably to replace the g2c and it’s being made in Brazil so they can keep the low price point. Probably can not make the g2c here for that price anymore.
It's simple to me. Taurus is refreshing their line. The G2 and G3 pistols are being replaced by the GX. Taurus can streamline their product line. Makes sense. Exciting? Does anybody remember the 2012 Toyota RAV4. The 2013 RAV4? They were decent cars, but I would rather buy a 2025.
Very good point I honestly didn’t think about it from that pov but you make a very good point
I'm thinking it could be to compete with the new H&K compact pistol.
Yep, I was thinking maybe it's easier for Taurus to manufacture this model, so they're trying to convince the customers it's "new and improved".

Noooooooooo long live g2 😢
I think it’s and option/ choice for ppl that don’t already have one of the other models.
I think this is the coolest drop of the last 2 years honestly, I'm definitely hyped to see what they put out
It's the replacement for the aged out G2 line. Would you buy a G2 today or the GX2? New things replace old things. Old man yells at sky!!!
Been seeing the TS9 selling for just $250 lately, I imagine I'll be getting one of those instead of the GX2...
I had a ts9 no fibor optics to fit it so i sold it
I bought one last April for $275. I like it, very accurate and never had a malfunction.
Never ever take a content creator word for anything always research what they are claiming taurus are incredable guns and very reliable
You didn't watch the video because you wouldn't have said something so foolish
I believe this is replacing the G2C. They are also around $100 cheaper than a GX4.
Idk where you shop, but you can get a gx4 for $225. 🙄
@ they are 299 at my local shop and a GX2 is 239.

To each their own I guess. Money saved, is money earned. More bullets bought. lol
A GX4 Carry is in my CCW rotation and I carry it more than any other gun. I love it. I'm not going to buy the GX2 but maybe someone low on cash or looking for their first CCW will.
LOL, my head is spinning. So many Taurus'. Thanks for the heads up. Rock on.
I jumped into Taurus at the gx4 mark. Never wanted anything else because gx4 is awesome! Now they brought gx4 features to gx2. I’m interested only because of this, to be honest. Great idea!
Even car companies make small changes to their cars every year to keep people coming into the dealership.
So, fanboy then. It's alright, we all have our favorites.
@ So I must be a Sig, Glock, Ruger, and S&W, fanboy too since I have plenty of nice things to say about some of their handguns that I still own…….

I do daily carry a 30 super carry though lol 😆
me too until recently when it got stolen from my night stand, or lack of a proper stand.
You poor lost soul.
G3C is the pinnacle. Inexpensive, but not cheap, uses common sights, takes SIG magazines, and the engineering and design is similar to every striker gun on the planet. Mine just runs.
How many rounds thru your G3c?Thanks
How good is the gx2?
@@THORR-mh9pxmine has 6,850 rounds through it without a single malfunction
@speedygonzales8144 How did you keep up with the numbers...I had returned most for repairs...
I like Taurus. 🥰
I just ordered a GX2 from my local gun shop...arriving Thursday. Looking forward to my range time with it.
The purpose of this launch is to replace their G2c/g3c line. It’s an update to a decade old design that sells for 250 bones.
It aligns their basic no frills gun line with their more premium conceal carry gun that everyone loves.
I have the g2c and carry it every day good gun never had no trouble with the gun
As a man who likes Taurus guns, and who has disposable income...I picked up the GX2 to go along with my two TH9s, my G3 and my G2C. STOP complaining
Nice vid.
I think it was 10 yrs ago I bout my first pistol ever, it was the Taurus 24/7 G2, still have it today, chambered in 40
Very cool man
I'm still waiting for them to come out with a comped version of the Gx4 Carry. What are they waiting for?
It does seem like some minor useful improvements. Depending on your preferences.
STOP being a HATER, there just simply trying to test the market to see where everyone is, it's called market research & development
That's not how you test the market. I can tell you are not a business owner
I'm excited Taurus is doing a good job another gun i must get ...
This GX2 is the replacement for the G2C from my understanding. I'll wait til they work the bugs out. I have a GX4 Carry, I'll stick with that
I feel the same about that Ruger/Magpul glock knockoff.
My buddy picked one up honestly it feels pretty good I like it more than the couple daggers I have
I mean, I’ll go get the GX2.
I currently own a GX4, and while I wouldn't mind looking at a GX2, I have no plans or desire to buy one.
Extremely exciting for those who prefer striker fired over a hammer fired handgun.
This is basically a remodeled G3C in striker fire setup.
I have Gx4 carry and G3c... I agree, I'm not at all excited... good point sir. Good message.
Agreed
I'm very happy about Taurus bettering their quality of their guns. I'll be the happy camper, and keep my 3xl.
I think going back to making them in Brazil is what makes me nervous about getting one.
But this is how they'll flood the market with the new "best seller."
Now - what *I* am most excited for with this release, is eventually we will have a market flooded with lightly-used G2Cs and G3Cs that will go for LESS than they are going now (or remain the same as other prices creep upward).
This.
They put tx22 grip on a gx4 trigger but I love the tx22 grip because it fits great in the hand.
I think they are combining the GX and the G2/3 lines . Its going to be their new entry level pistol.
Yawn🥱 And we can tell where your heart is when you wear a Kahr hat while filming a Taurus video.
Basically this is the new g3c. They probably discontinue that line and rebranded it. They probably will release a optic ready version next.
It is of no interest to me
G3C fits me fine as it uses Glock sights, uses G2 holsters and most important uses P226 mags. G3C is small enough
Taurus's Underwhelming GX2 Launch - TheFirearmGuy
I am satisfied with the G2c that I am invested in and saw no reason to get a G3c just for the upgrades.
Same here- I really wasn't sure how it was different than the other models. And it seems it's only available with a manual safety for now anyway.
My thoughts are that the GX2 will replace the G2C and G3C. Those started as the PT111 G2 Millinium. It follows the GX4 design.
My g3c carry all day 3,000 round no malfunction 💪
IDK, I like the texturing on the slide, the manual safety, 2 13rnd mags, The multi slot picatinny rail, are you sure you're not being a lil tough on them? I do not own a Taurus but I do like them even tho they get a bad rap from time to time.
Own a G3 Taurus and not a bad handgun. Would rather try the new Ruger rxm and spend a little bit more money for the options had.
Spot on Dan the Man. I love my TX 22’s and my G3 but this one doesn’t make much sense to me
I think they did it for new gun owners they not missing out on anything respect 4 taurus
Great comment Radomguy
Why did Taurus introduce a G3c? The G2c is a fine pistol.
I have all those tauruses you named and still like plan on getting a gx2. It looks interesting to me.
So I'm excited I'm definitely picking one up
This should have been made in their US factory and not imported.
I think it's a nice upgrade, same trigger as the gx4 series and internal frame and it's way cheaper
Still rockin the PT111 millennium g2 pro.
Love the gx2 excellent triger, great for collectors.
I was saying after the gx4 carry this gun didn’t need to be made. Gx4 carry is a very good gun
I want that gun. 😁
Only a few years ago Taurus came out with the GX4 Carry 15 rds. What happened with that , a good carry size .WOW YOU HAVE THEM ALL , NICE COLLECTION ❤
Thanks! Yeah, I like the GX4 too.
They have a $25 rebate on this GX2 up until January 15th 2025
What magazines interchange with the GX2? The Taurus website link for "accessories" is grayed out at the moment, and no reviewer I've seen has yet bothered to try other magazines.
Some reviewers have shown that it will take the Gx4 carry 15 round magazines. So there are some future options coming for sure.
Wow, I had never heard that Taurus created a 10 mm. Now, I'll have to look into it. This GX2 doesn't seem necessary at all. It's odd.
Does it have the same ergonomics as the TX 22 I love the way that gun feels in my hand wish they would make a nine mil with those ergonomics
