We’re making a critical mistake when we make size comparisons by implying that a thinner handgun is always better for everyone. There are many people, myself included, who do *not* shoot thin handguns as well as thicker handguns. There will *always* be a need for these options. Just because a Sig P365X Macro can squeeze 17 rounds into a thinner package than other handguns does *not* mean those other handguns are obsolete, inadequate, or “lesser” than. So I’m not sure the size/capacity comparisons are as relevant to the average gun buyer as we’d like to believe.
@@spnfirearms I wasn’t suggesting *you* were saying that, I was making the general point about (we) prospective gun buyers making the critical mistake of believing a smaller, thinner, higher capacity handgun is always a “better” handgun for concealed carry, so we start comparing guns & dismissing good ones purely on the basis of dimensions & capacity. I apologize if I didn’t communicate that correctly.

the two Taurus g2c 9mm pistols I bought and reload for shoots flawlessly and accurately with no exceptions. I want a g2c 40 sw to have . my Taurus pt845 / 45acp also flawlessly and accurately with no exceptions. what will the x series do my g2c won't?. papa 😊
Where did SPN Firearms get the idea that "Cheap Guns might = Bad Quality"? My hypothesis why Taurus needs to sell guns cheaper than others is because they made a bad reputation for themselves in the past. So therefore today they're probably not selling well compared to SIGs, Glocks, Smith's because their historically bad reputation is kinda still following them to this day... So they're cutting their profit margins on their guns to catch up and remain competitive to those big gun manufacturing players. After all don't Glocks have simpler and fewer internal components? Then why are there guns selling for more than $500? It's because they can: high demand = high prices and vice versa. I bet if somehow Glock company is financially underwater, they can cut and sell their Glock guns in half to start surviving. Anyway I've been following you for a year and I always find your videos informative so I thought I would chip in.
Haha I really appreciate that. I don’t get it. The gx4 and g3c are actually decent. This handgun just is terribly made. The internals look like they were machined by a 4 year old. I don’t know why people don’t like honesty
@@spnfirearmssure the internals do look bad I agree.... But you and I are both not engineers. If it runs 10s of thousands without flaws, then we don't really care how pretty the internals look. Besides this gun is probably the first batch of initial production. We'll see how they improve over there in Brazil. I just feel like it's a stereotype from the gun community to label cheap guns as potentially low quality/reliability which you just proved may not be true from the g3c/gx4.
Being the owner of G3C in 9 and 40 and a G3 I can say I understand why taurus went this route. It's basically a gen 3 of the G3C as the G3C was a gen 2 of the G2C. Being that the gx4 was made using the tx22 platform and those all being a hit (with the small batch of gx4 recalled) it only makes sense to update their entire line-up to said platform. By the naming style of Taurus I see a G3 replacement as a GX3. I mean Glock has been making updates to their firearms since forever with the gen 5 now the most current so why can't Taurus do the same? While I do agree they should have kept the p226 style mags and came out OR they have to build around the gx4 so those mags are in use and they always wait about a year before the OR's are released. As for brazil built, well if who ever is in charge keeps their QC pace going then it doesn't matter if here or there as long as it's QC'ed properly which Taurus isn't going to go backwards or course correct if something happens as they did with that gx4 batch. As for the bad triggers on the G3 line, Galloway and mcarbo now make adjustable triggers to fix the current G3 line issues so there's that.
They aren’t even close. The gx4 and g3c were machined properly and were decent quality. The gx2 is not. Open one up, look at the internals, take it to any guns smith and they will be honest with you
@@spnfirearms Thank you for the reply. I wasn't discounting your concerns over the GX2. I was just stating that I doubt taurus is going to sit back and revert their upward trajectory and that if these are not reliable then they will rectify it. It wouldn't make sense business wise seeing as to how popular the GX line has been even with the batch of recalls and the long running G line. As far as machine marks and everything you have mention there have been firearms that were rough around the edges and still performed so it's just a matter of testing. You really like the stoeger but a few people have had issues with those, same with the exodus which I own as well and have an issue with it. Even the all mighty canik has issues with their TTI Combat but everything else they you like. I know your gettin some heat for this video but it is your firearm and you can hold it to whatever standard you deem fir for duty and I do agree that this firearm is an odd duck. I'm sure a few more hundred rounds down you'll report back or someone else will with the findings. Thanks for the videos.
@RoadWarriorMP88 I dont ever see that and im in a mostly free state 😂 granted the used arms market ain't what it was when arms list was like using Craigslist 15 years ago.
AIM surplus has Glock police trade ins right now for $279. They are in .40 cal but you can swap to a 9mm barrel and you essentially have a Glock 19 and a 23 for under 400
Also in the defense of the Taurus I understand you can get better guns for 150-200$ more but if someone is looking for a great gun in the 250-300$ range I don’t think you can go wrong with the gx4 or gx2 that extra 150-200$ for a “better” gun could be spent on ammo, holster and other stuff you would need or want as a first time gun owner or buyer or someone getting into carrying
Im confused. Is there an argument going on about taurus or something? Why is this comparison video out here right now? Every time a gun comes out you guys compare them as if youre trying to convince people of something. Yall gotta chill. Its people out there that dont have every other hand gun. This gun is perfect for someone who is holding it to save their lives on a budget.
When I was flat broke, had no money, I still worked my butt off, worked over time, found side jobs and found a way to afford training and a quality handgun. Everyone can do it. People need to stop playing victim. Self defense is serious.
I think you may have gotten a bottom of the barrel sample for mags anyways. Some other reviews on YT definately have better looking mags than the ones you have.
I kinda don't understand the purpose of the GX4, especially when you have the g4x family and g3 family. This gun only makes sense if it is replacing the g3 line.
@michaelchan877 the g3 family sells like hotcakes though. That's is one of the top selling handguns in the country (the g2/g3 family). The main reason being affordability. Most sell for under 240 bucks. I bought multiple for $150 a piece (used) including the TORO version.
I know you don’t like the quality but I’ve seen rough machining on caniks and the psa dagger. The canik was a dud but the psa dagger has thousands of rounds through it with no issues. This gx2 is a good looking gun. That being said the quality of the Taurus revolvers are god awful and I’ve traded every one I’ve ever purchased. The tx22 is amazing.
Not understanding the point in this video. “Here’s this other pistol not a Taurus, it’s better” But here’s this Taurus it’s fine. Here’s this other, it’s better but here’s this Taurus it’s good.
I love my p10s that’s my main carry. But I picked up a Springfield xd sc for 220 bucks it’s an old one the pre grip zone lol it’s a little thicker then the cz but it’s shorter length not that it matters but I picked it up as a beater but now I kinda like it lol. I owned a g3c and yeah I’d take an old used xd over there pistols. I felt like it was snappier then a lot of others and mine didn’t like many brands of hollow points. Even after I polished the chamber and feed ramp it was picky.it wasn’t the worse pistol but again I’d take a used pistol from a different company over there semiauto’s.
I will say this you don't have the king of the Tauruses which is the gx4 carry model it might be the best budget gun on the market but when it comes to the gx2 I do understand what you're saying especially since the Ruger rxm and Anderson Kiger are out , and both are in the same price range and hasve way better quality ergonomics and takes Glock mags
@@daronporter5538 yes. The glock mag is thick. It makes the grip thick and it just never feel "good" to me. Almost any gun feels better. I have an pcc that takes glock mags and really want a pistol with glock mags. I had high hopes for the ruger to feel good but it doesn't work for me.
This just isn't for me. Im not a gun snob, but im also not a broke college student anymore. I can spend 250 with a rebate or catch a sale and get a Smith & Wesson SD9 2.0 or a CZ pd10 S. I know taurus has come a long way but come on.

You have to run 1000-1500 rounds through this gun. You have made so many predictions for this gun you have to take the time on your channel and prove or disprove at this point. I get it that you have "concerns" but are they warranted? Are they so far out of reach that you cant verify and put the claims to rest or show an issue within 1000 rounds. At this point we are all guessing, but you've got some strong concerns there. Is the point to be hypothetical or are you planning on showing us an issue that will show up according to you. What if nothing happens? Will you do this with the next gun release?
Of course I will. If my next gun release has terribly machined internals of course I will. That’s called being honest sir. I test all of my stuff passed 1k rounds.
@@spnfirearms what if the "terrible internals" amount to nothing? The fact that this convo is mainly had here, I would love to see the answer here. I dont wanna watch someone elses channel try to figure out these concerns. Are you going to stress test the gun and make a full report? or is it always gonna just be observational complaints. I have no problem with honesty its just the way you see to harp on it. The gritty feeling you notice when YOU handle a gun may never register for someone else. So my point is does your complaint hold ANY WEIGHT? Have your other Taurus pistols failed you? Im interested to know because you seem to have a hard on for pointing out things many others seem to not care about when knowing its a budget gun. Also do you expect the gun to fail eventually?

Well one you have no idea how long something will last and since it is a brand new gun it has some things to work out just like other name brands like sig and S&W and other have both had and still do yet let us piss on Taurus cause they are brown . Also gun life is very much owner dependent and if the person who owns the gun will care for the gun I understand you are going to cookie cutter talking points of all gun people on the net but some of the things you folks say are well crazy . Yes Glocks are carried a lot by cops because they are practically given away to keep the market share up and the lie going . Most cops never pull their weapons so yes if they are all carried and very few break it isnt because they are being used it war ! I have a hi-point I have had it for 14 years it has had the barrel replace it has that many rounds on it yet if you see it it looks brand new so should I tell the world Hi-points are the best once you understand hot to use them ? I just dont understand the logic of pissing on something that has not been out long enough to make a mark one way or the other .
Well that gx2 has no barrel issues. So it is true, I had a shadow systems and would not run a full mag. Took 800 rounds to run, trash. This gun in your video seems to run well from the jump.
Because the QA was crap... Look, every gun manufacturer has teething problems when new platforms launch, SIG really pisses me off as they beta test their customers. The gx4 issue was minor when compared to SIG on the P320 and P365... Yet people only remember Taurus and give SIG a free pass.

armory Derya DY9 🤔??
We’re making a critical mistake when we make size comparisons by implying that a thinner handgun is always better for everyone. There are many people, myself included, who do *not* shoot thin handguns as well as thicker handguns. There will *always* be a need for these options. Just because a Sig P365X Macro can squeeze 17 rounds into a thinner package than other handguns does *not* mean those other handguns are obsolete, inadequate, or “lesser” than. So I’m not sure the size/capacity comparisons are as relevant to the average gun buyer as we’d like to believe.
No one said that?
@@spnfirearms I wasn’t suggesting *you* were saying that, I was making the general point about (we) prospective gun buyers making the critical mistake of believing a smaller, thinner, higher capacity handgun is always a “better” handgun for concealed carry, so we start comparing guns & dismissing good ones purely on the basis of dimensions & capacity. I apologize if I didn’t communicate that correctly.

I have that Taurus pocket pistol and it’s ass failed on me at the range and it’s terrible to put back together after cleaning trigger ass too but usable
How is it compared to hkcc9.?
I have the gx4 carry and it’s my favorite gun before that I carried a canik mete mc9 also love the channel and you’ve been making me think hard about getting a used Glock 40 sw
I just got a gx4 carry a couple weeks ago and it is so underrated
Keep a lookout on PSA website gen 4 Glock 23 for 300$ and gen 3 and 4 Glock 22 for 300-320 theyre used but they're police trade ins
@ that’s facts it feel almost exactly like a 43x but better and shoots super smooth and I’m normally not a Taurus guy
Gx2 has better grip and pinky fit. Thst alone beats any of those glocks to me
I agree. I don't understand the love for the short fat Glocks that you have a pinky hanging off of. So much better out there in terms of features, grip, and they rival the reliability....example....Shield.
@blang38 Bingo
I will stick with my g26 and g30s
Very smart, very well said! Respect
Haha bet you will
the two Taurus g2c 9mm pistols I bought and reload for shoots flawlessly and accurately with no exceptions. I want a g2c 40 sw to have . my Taurus pt845 / 45acp also flawlessly and accurately with no exceptions. what will the x series do my g2c won't?. papa 😊
My GX4 trigger is better than my G2C, G3C and G3Toro triggers. It has a longer reach, a shorter pull, and breaks clean and crisp.
@@spnfirearms People love honesty....but you have to be consistent with it and be honest with yourself as well.
The gx4xl and carry are only $250 after rebates these days
My GX4 has 2k plus rounds and my G43 has 3500 rounds. I'm good with carrying those 2.
You forgot to throw in the GForce arms RPX9 exodus in the mix. 🤙🏼
Walther PPQsc 👑 10rd pinky 15rd full grip.
Always loved the taurus look just not the consistent hit and miss problems they have.
For me, the only Taurus I will buy is their revolvers... I stick with major brands like Glock, S&W, Colt and just got my first Springfield Armory..
How much,
Finding glocks under 400 is wild. I sold my 6/7 year old gen 4 g26 for 450
Occasionally I see $375 but only on 42s or 43/43x/48s. Even police trade ins don't go lower than that where I live
@RoadWarriorMP88 I dont ever see that and im in a mostly free state 😂 granted the used arms market ain't what it was when arms list was like using Craigslist 15 years ago.
AIM surplus has Glock police trade ins right now for $279. They are in .40 cal but you can swap to a 9mm barrel and you essentially have a Glock 19 and a 23 for under 400
@SamplersAndThings ill have to check that out. I just picked up an echelon a week ago. So I don't need another butttttt 😂
@@ssbolts88 tell me about it. Just bought a Beretta A300 because it was $917 shipped. Gotta stop buying 😂
@@DeckTechGuru and you get a warranty. People miss that part.
I paid $370 for my 33! Still had the grease in it!
Wish Cali had this on the roster 😢
GAWD I hate Glock fanbois ! Just can't justify subbing to your channel.
Buy something else if you can. Barretta, RUGER, S&W have similar priced options.
I kinda don't understand the purpose of the GX4, especially when you have the g4x family and g3 family. This gun only makes sense if it is replacing the g3 line.
I think the G3C isn't selling very well because it looks ugly to some Americans so Taurus released this GX2 to hopefully sell better... My opinion
Taurus gx2 looks like a oversized gx4 for now I will keep my g2 c proven reliable
It’s just bad quality. That’s all I’m saying. Love my gx4 and g3c. This is a step down.
I’m kind of jealous of your pile of pistols.
I feel ya on that 1...Great collection though and they just don't sit he actually trains with them👍
Not understanding the point in this video.
Love.d.super.carry😊....and.sig357s.glocks.😊...great.pistols...amazing.ammo😊..all..ur..pistlols..are.freeking..nice😊
Heckler and Koch is such a disappointment right now
I will say this you don't have the king of the Tauruses which is the gx4 carry model it might be the best budget gun on the market but when it comes to the gx2 I do understand what you're saying especially since the Ruger rxm and Anderson Kiger are out , and both are in the same price range and hasve way better quality ergonomics and takes Glock mags
Have you put your hand around a RXM? WHAT A TOAD
@@johncadloni4538 you thought the grip was to thick
@@daronporter5538 yes. The glock mag is thick. It makes the grip thick and it just never feel "good" to me. Almost any gun feels better. I have an pcc that takes glock mags and really want a pistol with glock mags. I had high hopes for the ruger to feel good but it doesn't work for me.
Dam bro all them guns given me a chubby 😂😂😂😂😂
Jk.
Some people just don't have an extra 100 or 200 dollars bro its a cheap budget gun
You have no idea how durable it is. Mine got go 5k for all you know.
Wow the gx2 is wider than the gx4 😮 why did they do that??
its a similar frame to the TX22
This just isn't for me. Im not a gun snob, but im also not a broke college student anymore. I can spend 250 with a rebate or catch a sale and get a Smith & Wesson SD9 2.0 or a CZ pd10 S. I know taurus has come a long way but come on.
Daisy sue subscriber should get for gabe,
I need steel smith and Wesson one day when I find money
Jezzzz dude, you are prepared for GGW3... Anyways, I still dont believe Taurus leased GX2 with so freak low quality magazines... They look like shit... and this finishing? Hopefully they do better here in Brazil.... Yet, USA deserve better...
only taurus worth buying is any one of their revolvers, because theres no one else on the market that can match their quality and price point. yes i said quality. The 1911 is also decent, but these days, why would someone buy that, The beretta knock off is excellent also, like all of them. it is just a decent design. I like the pt740 but they quit making that.
Do the new doublestack savage stance xr 13 rd capacity optics ready an light rail
Why can’t you handle honestly? Can you honestly look at the internals in the video I showed you and tell me it’s quality? Quit lying to yourself.
@ why would you want something that is terrible quality? I don’t understand you guys? It’s mind blowing. Do you want a terrible quality car? A woman with terrible qualities? No you don’t so why make excuses
@ and yes my gx4 came from the factory with a dead trigger! That’s been documented on the channel as well!!!!!! They repaired it after 3 weeks and it’s been good since
I still think you have too many guns....😂
This review was so biased from the start it lacks even a modicum of journalistic integrity.
Lmao bias? You mean being honest about the garbage quality? What a joke
I need to buy my guns where you buy your because where I buy my guns it's not that cheap
Revist the db9 yo
Where G3s or GXs 😒🫣 come on taurus
The GX2 is a waste of time. It isn’t even optics ready.
Wha wha wha...blah blah blah...grow up !
Shadow systems cant run 250 lmao
That’s just not true what so ever. We all know that was a barrel issue that they fixed.
Well that gx2 has no barrel issues. So it is true, I had a shadow systems and would not run a full mag. Took 800 rounds to run, trash. This gun in your video seems to run well from the jump.
Also would you say those Brazil mags are worse than a Pmag the SS comes with?
Because the QA was crap... Look, every gun manufacturer has teething problems when new platforms launch, SIG really pisses me off as they beta test their customers. The gx4 issue was minor when compared to SIG on the P320 and P365... Yet people only remember Taurus and give SIG a free pass.
Hey guys that was a barrel issue! For a gun that cost double than the gx2! Lol, this guy just wants to dog taurus
Taurus has improved, but i wo t buy one, waste of money....junk
Improved and junk?
@michaelchan877 yes, over the last decade, they're have improved. But they are still well below dependable...
Really don’t know what you are speaking on. All of my Taurus have over a 1000 rounds and have completely reliable.
