First time using a gaming laptop... After 3 weeks using my brand new Victus 16, I can say that this screen wobble was hyper exaggerated. I've never had a problem with it. Besides that, this review is absolutely spot on. No regrets buying this laptop.
I've been using it for over a year and I have no idea what these reviewers are saying. I mean yeah, if you're actively shaking your laptop or pointing a leaf blower at it, then it's pretty hard to use, but with normal use on a table it's not noticeable whatsoever.
I appreciate how much originality and effort u put in ur videos my man, this video is a great example of it. The leaf blower, breaking wind, wife reference, and even the little diss u made against Alienware x17 for not having secondary keys lit up were all amazing. Keep up the good work my man.
@@mohammadfaris1306 If laptop is on table and I'm using its keyboard, screen is not moving at all. To get full HD/60 fps I never go below very high settings. Really, a dumb suggestion? Do you understand how many people have laptops that they hook up the docking stations when they get home and then end up taking it to work or on vacation or anything else. I bought an I-7 version of this. My primary reason was that I wanted the 'improved thermal cooling'. It is so painful that you get a cooling pad, and the 'laptop' still burns your hands if they are too close to the machine. Let alone what the machine does on your lap. The cooling pad should be built in and not weight anything either. Better bulk than weight for cooling. Most 'laptops' are bulk with the cooling pad, and weight with the combined laptop and cooling pad. It looks good on paper, but a night of gaming can leave your hands aching.

These are a good budget gaming laptop but they are also a good companion laptop for example I have a 3080 rig at home so I really didn’t need to much power on the go but needed something that could game decently if I’m not home for 2-3 days. I went with the 3050ti 6800h model with 16gb of ram. Was on sale for 800$ at micro center
I almost bought the same one but didn’t because of all the cheapness of the overall build. I was able buy an updated predator for only $200 more, discounted price of $999. It has a 12th gen i7, 3060, 16 gb ddr5 dual ram. But more importantly, it feels more solid with it aluminum chassis

Hi! Planning to buy a gaming laptop but I am torn between ideapad gaming 3 ( which costs around $900) in our country and hp victus ($920). Both models that i am considering have RTX3050, 8gb ram, and 512gb SSD. However, the ipg3 is on i5-11320H and is 165hz while the latter r5-5600H and is 144hz. I am kinda worried about the wobble issue on victus but cost wise, I am leaning on getting it because it is offered in our country with pre-installed ms office (wc is impt for me as a student and my part time jobs). But if i buy the ipg3, i need to add around $50 to have MS Office installed. Which one do you think i should get?
Nice video, I am planning on getting one. I basically only play World of Warcraft on a PC, so I assume it will work fine on it. One question I always have, do I need to keep the charger in whilst gaming, or it can go without? I plan to use a keyboard/mouse in any case, for gaming.

I think you got the "bad" display, I can select between the 250nits and the 300nits on the hp store. Same for the srgb (or whatever it is), the 300nits display also states 100% srgb. It costs 50€ more but I think it's well worth it. Anyway, do you think the wobble is going to get worse and worse? Thanks Anyway, do you
@@JustinTechTips I guess it's really hard to find a perfect spot. Comparing display with my old Samsung monitor, colors are really good. What's most noticeable for me that smaller letters are blurred. It's really noticeable for me. Maybe it's normal for laptop screens. But when I'm gaming I try to use monitor or Tv whenever I can. So wobbly display is not an issues for me. What is the price of the gtx 1650 intel i5 version today?
I use victus 12700H, RTX 3060 115 watt, 2x8GB 4800 Ram. I am so happy.
The model in the review with Ryzen 5800h has the 3060 running at only 95 w, it's noticeably worst?
Hey Justin would you recommend this laptop for school?, I would also be using it for gaming
impress on the fan noises
count me in for the next one
No problem Mighty Leg! Thanks for stopping by!
What about the same laptop but
CPU : amd 5 5800H
GPU : amd RX 5500M
RAM : 8GB
Is it good for after effect and some games ?
Hello. I have a question about screen wobble. Does it have any problems ?
Can you charge this one using the USB C port?
Is it good for editing videos ?
Another great review, good to see a lower priced gaming machine. Thanks
No problem Tiggzg! Glad you enjoyed it!
Hey justin i recently bought victus 16 with r7 5800h -512 gigs-rtx 3050-8gigs ram(will expand it later)-144hz-for around 875$ just wanted to ask was it a good deal?
How far does this laptop open, as in hinge angle?
Another amazing review!!!! 😎👌, what about the new omen 17?, do you think🤔🤔🤔 to do a review about it?
Thank you Tago, yeah I’ve been thinking about that one too. I’m going to do some keyword research to see how in demand that one is compared to how many videos there already are on it
So all of the variations have only 2 m.2 slots? Or some have extras or just one?
I want to buy this for game and school as well is it a good choice? Sometimes I bring my laptop to library and study :)
im on a budget do you recommend me getting an hp victus with a gtx1650 and ryzen 5 5600h and 12gb ram or do you recommend me getting something else?
What did you get?
@@r.a.tanco_ I did get HP Victus , but opted for the model with i7-11800h, 16gb ram, 1TB SSD and RTX 3050ti 144hz.
@@AyuzawaMisaki42898 And how it's going ? Any problem ?
Damn, that screen wabble it's nuts! But still great video man!
Yeah Luswin, it seems like there has to be some instructions somewhere on the internet that show people how to tighten it
Nice video, I am planning on getting one. I basically only play World of Warcraft on a PC, so I assume it will work fine on it. One question I always have, do I need to keep the charger in whilst gaming, or it can go without? I plan to use a keyboard/mouse in any case, for gaming.
You usually want to keep it plugged, without the charger every gaming laptop cannot fully power the gpu
Yeah Jack Tihs, you should keep it plugged in if you want to have smooth FPS during gameplay
ayo homie, I have an HP victus and would like to know how to unlock the advanced option in the bios?
Hey UltraCenterHQ, it should be under the performance section
@@JustinTechTips the bios on my hp victus 16 just looks like the generic hp bios
Great video. Between this and Acer nitro 5, which one would you say has the better build quality?
Should I buy this laptop or Asus Zepyasrus G14?
I would go with this laptop over the G14
This laptop with Ryzen 5600h, RTX 3050 ti and 16gb RAM for 905 USD. Is it a good deal? Or shall I go for Ideapad Gaming 3 with same specs and price?
Is that laptop got hang?
Im thinking about getting the fully decked out r14 are you going to do a review on that?
Yep I've got an R13 on its way. It should be quite a bit faster than the R14 since it will have the new 4600mhz DDR5 RAM and 12 gen intel
@@JustinTechTips thank you for informing me of the 12th gen cpu. I almost bought the r14. But i think you've switched my mind now
@@JustinTechTips also i believe the ddr5 ram is 4400 not 4600 but i could be wrong
Yeah you're right. That's what I meant
Woble Test Was Amazing
Lol thanks Xtreme Android
Hey Justin I'm wondering if the I7 veriant of this laptop would still be the same. Also I'm picking between an ROG G15 (Ryzen R9-3060(115-130w)), Nitro 5 (Ryzen R7-3070(100W)) and Victus(I7-11800H-3060(not sure tpd)) which one should I choose or is there any better one in the price range? my budget is around 1700$.
Hey Phuc Mine, you're talking about this G15 right amzn.to/3GYi5aH ? That one will be a little more expensive than the other two but will definitely give you the best performance
@@JustinTechTips I meant the strix version with that spec xD i think it's a regional one.
The screen wobble is a huge downside for me I'm crossing this off my shopping list, thanks for the review.
No problem Kobby! Glad I could help!
@@JustinTechTips hi Justin;
Asus ROG G512 Strix
HP omen 15
Common specs are i7 10th gen and rtx 2070, which of these offers a bang for buck? I could use your advice
F
Is it not possible to thighten the hinges so that it does not wobble?
You just earned yourself a subscriber lol
Love the sensitive wind blowing part after the laptop closed. 😂😂
Have you made, or will you make a laptop review with 100% color accuracy affordable laptops.??
If it has 300 nits for this laptop does it make it worth it for video editing on a budget.??? Would really appreciate it if you'll give your honest opinion.
Thanks for the sub Marcos! Honestly for me editing without 100% color accuracy doesn't make that much of a difference to me. My favorite displays have been Oled displays. More so due to the deep blacks than the 100% color accuracy
Hp victus 16 ryzen 5 5600h
Or hp pavilion ryzen 5 5600h
Which one is better?
I want laptop for programming
Plz reply 🥺
It doesnt matter, both can handle it just try having atleast 16gb ram.
you're talking about this Victus right? amzn.to/3LPUJHr Yeah I would personally go with that one over the Pavilion
I just bought one. I find the fan a bit too loud. I'm afraid that it may be due to the fact that it was on display in the shop...
Hi, I have a doubt... which one to choose between victus (i7- 11800 - Nvidia GeForce rtx3060 6gb, 16gb of ram and a 1tb ssd) and acer nitro 5 with the same specifications for photography and video editing? Do you think the wobbling of the display in the Victus is a big problem? Many thanks in advance. 😊
The nitro is shit
First of all You really did Such a Helpfull Video.
Just 1 Question!
Why can't show this laptop on the website of HP?
and is it really true that we cannot get company warranties for this victus laptop?
please reply 🙏
Hey Blue Entertainment, what country are you in? Here in the US I see several warranty options on HP's website before purchasing this laptop bit.ly/HP_Victus16
But if that doesn't work for you. Best Buy has a great protection plan
bestbuy.7tiv.net/rn1xgD
ok I'm from India.. I can't see this laptop in the website of official HP..
don't know why🙄
I bought one a week ago. When doing heavy task the fans goes at full speed, whe the task is finished the fans still goes at full speed and never change to calm. Only after a disconnect the power supply the fan change the speed to low. Do you now if its normal. I'm in time to return it. Thanks.
That's really weird Pablo Smiht! 😕 Did you contact support about that?
I wonder how to fix that screen wobble.
should i buy the $850 HP - Victus 15.6" Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i7-12650H - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti - 512GB SSD - Mica Silver?
Hey Virus, yes that's a pretty good deal for a solid machine like this one.
@@JustinTechTips also, what does it mean by "144 hz?" i assume it is good tho
@Virus thats the refresh rate on the screen. That means that every second the screen refreshes 144 times. This makes motion look really smooth
Wow.. where that's price? In Italy Is more expansive... But i find victus r7 5800h with 3060rtx at 800$ used 3 months. Do you suggest this? Or similar price it's Better Asus TUF d15 with i7 11370h +3060rtx.. thx u in adv
Actually I got the i5 12th gen 12500 and rtx 3050 but everything else is still the same
Is it 100% sRGB screen ???
Depends on the model. There are 100%, and there are 67%. Read the specifications for each model, mainly models with a 144 Hz screen have displays at 100% sRGB
How much srgb does this have is it good for rendering and digital art or i just need to buy another monitor
Can you use it on a studio display? Couldn’t find any definte answer yet.
I'm about to get this one with the RTX 3050 Ti and R7 5800H. Is it a good option? Or Acer Nitro 5 with same specs but with i7 11370 exceeds.
Did you revieuw the newer version of this (if its a newer version) Victus 16-e1430nd 16.1" Ryzen 7 RTX 3050 Ti
And if its not good what would you advice to get ?
Got the exact same laptop use it to play all the totalwar games on max settings works great
Bro should I go for HP VICTUS 144 HZ Or HP PAVILLION GAMING 144 HZ i want a better battery backup plz suggest which should I go for (wobbling is not issue for me). And in same price I am getting lenevo legion Ryzen 5 (4th ) gen and Acear Aspire 7 With same specs as Hp with 120hz RR.
Hey SPARK, you're referring to this version of the Victus 16 right? bit.ly/HP-Victus16 . Yes I would go with that one over the Pavillion
on amazon it said it had a 1.5 GHz core_i7_family processor but it also said its max boost is 5.0 does that mean it runs programs or daws slow?
How does it perform in a music daw with lots of vst plugins loaded?
Hey Jack Black! Honored you would take time from filming Jumanji 3 to stop by the channel! 😉 Unfortunately I don't have the machine with me anymore so I can't run that test.
The fart joke was hilarious 😂
The fart closing the laptop was so satisfying 🤣😃🤣
😂😀 That part was fun! Glad it made you laugh!
Guys i need help... Am abt to buy the pc online so i cant try it at the shop.. Am wondering if the wobbling can make a problem especially if its not stable and will bother me working or studying on it.. Do you recommend it ?
Hey El. Yes I still recommend it. I had fun making fun of the wobble but it honestly didn’t bother me too much. On a solid surface it won’t wobble. In your lap it will but it’s more so due to loose hinges than a defect
Hey justin.. awesome videos u post here.. if you don't mind.. would you review the new r13 or 14 aurora?
Yep I've got an R13 on its way. It should be quite a bit faster than the R14 since it will have the new 4600mhz DDR5 RAM and 12 gen intel
Can't wait to review by you justin! Looking foward for it since I want to buy it :P
what is the audio quality like when watching a movie on this laptop?
Hey Sweiry Tal, I would say it's about average for a gaming laptop. Just as Bla as the rest of them
I bought the Vectus with I CORE 7-11800 WITH AN RTX 3050 TI + 16 G RAM.and display rate 144 hz and an SSD of 512 GB.

Hey nahshon, sorry for the late reply. They are nearly equal but the 1650 will have better overclockability so I would go with that one
@@JustinTechTips thank you very much. I did get the 1650 variant.😅
hi is this the i5 or i7 machine?
If the video review doesn't have the screen wobble, it's not the victus 16.
Hey bro... I need an answer am about to buy an asus f571 i5 9300h the specs are good (windows10) but the processor at this time is it good or not am not a pro gamer !!!!
Hey El 7ou, sorry for the late reply.. If you don't game much that i5 should be fine. It might have some trouble with higher end graphics on the big titles though. But then at the same time you could always just turn the graphics quality settings down
Is the screen wobble noticible when gaming and typing on a desk ?
what screen reso and nits brightness did it have to begin with?
Hey Chris M., just over 300 nits with a 1080p resolution
Is it good for coding and programming.....
Hp victus 16 rtx 4050 ryzen 5 8645hs vs lenovo LOQ rtx4050 ryzen 5 7535hs. Which is the best?
I think you got the "bad" display, I can select between the 250nits and the 300nits on the hp store. Same for the srgb (or whatever it is), the 300nits display also states 100% srgb. It costs 50€ more but I think it's well worth it.
Anyway, do you think the wobble is going to get worse and worse? Thanks
Anyway, do you
Bought it with that display. Great laptop
Hey RoyalTrashing, no I don't think it will get worse. I just think it was not manufactured to be very tight at the hinges
@@JustinTechTips I guess it's really hard to find a perfect spot. Since having it over tight would also mean it's gonna break off much faster(I despise center hinge laptops and i always think they are the ones who'll break off fast most of the time). Although i really want to ask this, what do you feel about the hinge sturdiness? You think it will be fine for like 4 years?
Comparing display with my old Samsung monitor, colors are really good. What's most noticeable for me that smaller letters are blurred. It's really noticeable for me. Maybe it's normal for laptop screens. But when I'm gaming I try to use monitor or Tv whenever I can. So wobbly display is not an issues for me. Plus using external I'm getting better performance and free sync/ g sync 👌
@@michaeldidikof634 So it supports g-sync? I didn't know that
Can you do comparison Victus vs Nitro vs TUF?
