I wanted to like it more than I did. I ended up selling it. I found it was a little buggy but wow the compressor, effects and on board synth are killer!
i have mpc 5000 too and love it man. I'm with a problem and can't find the Solution. When i turn on my mpc all things are normal in program 1 but all the time synth it's open automaticly i return to program 1 but synth open again 1000 times without stoping and I did not touch in synth button.... I dont know if it's a issue or a definition in machine that i can't find. Can you help me sir?
You will love the synth in it!!!!!!! I just gave my daughter mines for her all female band called The Most! They pretty dope and needed something to run click tracks! I got the MPc LIVE now and it’s a beast!!! They got it right this time!!!
@@antraxraptuga Wow! Not sure! The first I heard of this! Do you have the latest update. I believe it’s 2.0? Yeah that is weird and frustrating. I will try to dig around online to see if others have had this issue. Standby….
Hey man can you tell me what was "buggy" about it? Try to ignore the faults of the one you received regarding its prior use. I'm trying to find something I can fix up and pimp that has a more old school workflow. I Am debating the older MPCs but like the in the middle era for the connectivity....
Would an older MPC's learning curve be a bit too much for a beginner who's never owned an MPC???........opinion or alternative more user friendly MPC for a BEGINNER?
This model has a lot of features. It’s almost a lamer update to the 4k. If you want simple, the 2000/xl are both units that are simple to use with good visual cues. The editing on the 60/ii/3000 is non visual. The 500 is like that as well. Once you’re familiar with the way Akai does things on a 2000/xl…you can use any of the family. But starting on a 4000/5000 can be overwhelming if you don’t know what you’re doing. The 500 is powerful, but it really helps to know what you’re doing to overcome its limits. The 1000/2500 with JJOS is the starting point for modern MPC style (live, one, x, key). It’s NOT how old Akai implemented the OS.
The sequencer drifts . I troubleshot for months and finally confirmed its doesn’t lock with MTC (midi time code) If you use a hybrid setup DAW Vst’s its wont lock to DAW
I sold the whole thing. Turns out I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. It was kinda buggy. Now I'm left with an MPC1000 and 2000XL. And I have an MPC3000 on the way so there will definitely be some videos about that coming up.
@Harzurner 2500/1000 works like the 2000/XL and does even more. And JJOS feature-wise probably owns all except *maybe* the 4000. However, purely sound-wise, yes 4000 and below all day.
@vintagestereos You can get the entire PCB wih smooth jogwheel. The 5000 has the same board as 2500.
I've had my 5000 for around 8yrs now, and love it....that actually looks awesome with the sides off...I like having the slider/fader q-links too

Still the best in my book ;) bought mine new when they first came out and still rocking with it
1000's of COUNTLESS hours invested on the 2000, 2000xl, 2500 and now I own the 5000 since it poped off!
If you not into sound like that, you will love the mpc x, & the workflow is fast & easy

@@antraxraptuga wow man!! Man so sorry for your troubles! Wish there was more that I could do bro!
the synth sucked so hard haha but it was the first mpc with the function
It's this MPC is what I emulate with My Akai MPK49 which looks very similar with Reason.

You know you can buy a brand new 2 tb hard drive on Amazon for 54 bucks?
He might want to try an SSD conversion if he’s just gonna go and ‘slam it in there’ 😅

Hi man, I use 2 gigs usb thumb on the X.
I have the opportunity to get a 4000 for the same price what do y’all recommend? (For sample based workflow)
Get the 4000. Their prices will sky rocket soon. 5000 is still much more easier to get.
Where did you get your stand for it??
It's a stool I found in the garbage that I've since sold.
Would you say $400 is a good price for this? I seen a few of em for $4-500
where?
@@navienta locally I seen one for 350
lmao i dont think ive ever seen a 5000 in person, dont know why ive never stumbled upon one
i saw some used mpc x for around 800-900€...
Where is the compressor at on it?
I’ve been looking between the 1000, 2000, 2000xl, 2500, 4000 and 5000, which do you think would be best for making more early 2000 beats?

What are you standing it up on ?
I had it on a metal stool. Not safe but was only for the video.
@@vintagestereos okay, cause I have mine on a stool as well but looking for the right stand for it. I think guitar center has one
how to remove sides? thank you

Did you sell the side panels?

the mpc 2000xl has a multi-cardreader. I think you are misinformed
The blue version does, but not the beige.
@@vintagestereos right but we upgrade to one.Its been like that for 20years ..you can buy a mmcard reader for the beige... I have one!
can i buy your side panels off you? if so let me know
You know what, you can have them bro. Some tabs ave broken off but they are usable. If you pay the shipping they are all yours.
Get the X
I got the Live. Sold all my MPCs and just the Live now. It's out of this world.
