Congratulations to the Oilers Management keeping up their "tradition" of, "We can win the Cup WITOUT Having any defense". It has worked out so well now hasn't it? What a game by the Golden Knights, the defense was tight and Adin Hill was absolutely sensational with a crazy 39 saves night. Everyone was betting on the OIlers and yet, the cohesive well structured Golden Knights pulled through. Props to the Oilers though, they were a very very difficult opponent to beat, with high pressure all series long. They definitely made the Knights earn that Conference Final ticket.
Defense was tight enough to allow 40+ shots, another meme of a team from Gary Bettman's Hockey-in-the-Desert TM program. I wonder how many attempt-to-injure plays they'll be allowed to make on Seattle/Dallas as the NHL looks the other way.
I don't think anyone was betting on the oilers to win this series, lol.

I feel sorry for the Oilers, but unfortunately they don't deserve it either after the weak last three games. It's a shame, especially Draisaitl, who had carried the team alone in the previous games, was somehow no longer visible.
In this respect, one must simply say: Congratulations, Golden Knights, on the deserved advancement.
I don't know how you can say Draisaitl was on his own. You're just going to ignore that McDavid leads everyone in playoff scoring?
Maybe because of the attempt at a career ending slash on Draisaitl in the previous game. Draisaitl will take some time to recover from it. Should be good for next season.
Skinner is another example how one person can make the difference between a win and a loss. He really is not the caliber of goalie that can take Edmonton past the 2nd round. He really looked lost out there most of the playoffs.

Eichel outplayed mcdavid
Did you even watch the games? I'm not even an Oilers fan but Eichel wasn't at all, up to Mcdavid's standard. Eichel scored on insane rebounds given by the 4.5 GAA goalie. Eichel's assists were lazy shots to the net that should have been covered. Mcdavid worked much harder for everything and played better defense too.
Whatever makes you happy. But I'm saying that is you truly looked at their play objectively Mcdavid was better.
Also a very easy way of judging talent is to compare them on even playing fields. In a garbage team (Buffalo Sabres), Eichel didn't make the playoffs. You could even argue that the Sabres were a better base team than the Oilers. What Mcdavid does each year is remarkable, and I'm surprised you don't see it.

Head to head Edmonton lost two of three games to Colorado. So, had they been in the same division, Colorado would have finished ahead of Edmonton.
It was really the first playing the third best team in the second round. If you meant the two best teams remaining, then that is true.

As the avs have struggled for so long to get to the top. I feel the oilers are on the same path. All love for my home town team. They battled hard.

oilers havent improved a bit, still relying on two players and power plays. one of them, draisaitl, without any enthusiasm when the opponents lead. scores goals, but still a weak and wimpish performer.
