- "Hells Bells" by AC/DC. Recorded live at Donington Park, England on August 22, 1981.
Unfortunately the video is incomplete. The original clip is probably part of a documentary or something, with German speaking voice over. I replaced the original audio with a good quality audio bootleg.
I was at this concert, 18 years old, the whole day was epic. Slade were increadable, had the whole cround singing and it was pissin' down. Oh how I miss the 80's.
Me too -also 18. Nobody was bothered out Slade till they came on. They were bloody epic. In the daylight. Everybody knew their songs, without realising. It was a fantastic event.

Me too, singing an xmas song in amongst that sweaty smelly lot. 16 and was actually my first ever gig allowed to go to my ow, down from manchester on the coach. Went to see Whitesnake, came away a massive Slade fan and thought, well now, this ACDC lot are pretty good, need to go get some albums. A great day, aside from the piss in glasses of course!
I was there and all bands were filmed. Where's the rest of the show? Surely must come out some day such a great gig..

I was there too. Only 17, slept in a bus shelter before hitching home. Kipped under a caravan while BOC were on and remember it raining not just rain but pineapples bottles and other er 'stuff'. What a day what a gig miss the 80s so much man. And Slade were ace like other's say. They played "We'll Bring the House Down" and they did!
I was there. First of the five times I've seen AC/DC. Still rocking out forty years later.
I was 16 we had drunk too many party 7s, couldnt go for a piss because the bands were so good, foget the pissing weather, bad sound and shit facilities, it was one of the best days of my life.
I was there too as a 19 year old travelled over from Trim in Ireland. Blackfoot and Slade were effin great. What a day never to be forgotten
I was there first one I ever went to .sound was crap ac/dc taking massive breaks but became a huge whitesnake fan

Was there with Peter Brama RIP (Hadrian Park Wallsend) Both aged 16. We looked at a big map and thought Donington looks close to Leeds! Jumped in a bus there and I recollect asking for directions from Leeds bus station, thinking it's just down the road. We had to hitch from the motorway (despite us not knowing it was illegal) A lorry driver took us to Derby and we used two buses to get there. I remember walking with hundreds of others to the site. I also recollect some shop on the way selling some disgusting bottles of pop which had "bits" in them💩 People were spitting it out lol. Can anyone else remember???:
Same here. What a great show. Fireworks at the end going over the crowd. So awesome.
Happy crazy memories , I was 19 and it was my first festival , onelasting memory (apart from the music) was any plastic bottle / canister flying through the air spewing out it's contents .....sometimes flat beer and sometimes not :) fantastic day ... Blackfoot were on fire !

My very first festival, crap sound except for AC/DC, when I saw them again in 1991 the sound and technology had improved dramatically, brilliant concert.
Why does it take so long for stuff that was filmed to be shown ? Before digital cameras ,and now phones, any recordings were valued memories of that gig regardless of quality...
Anyway was there,ac /dc quality indeed,remember cringing at blue oyster cult,shocking facilities and transport arrangements compared to now,saw a double decker bus being rocked side to side by an angry crowd unable to leave site back to derby after what seemed like hours of waiting,but the music was great,as most of the bands were on form in 81,for a 17 year old that i was then you were sure it would last forever ...happy days
I was 16 a few days earlier, this was a proper trek to get to. Me and a bunch of lads. Brilliant day, Slade smashed it even though it was pissing down..😎
I was a 16 Yr old novice in the rock world. But, this was the most epic way to get my stripes. Slade were unbelievable, Blackfoot rocked, Whitesnake were still a blues band and AC-DC were the dogs b*****x

I was there at 18 years old my second MOR at Donington was the year before in 1980 With Rainbow,Riot,Priest;April Wine.But best bands in 81 was Blackfoot and Slade and Whitesnake.Great day !!

I seem to remember after something was thrown on the stage the lead singer of blackfoot shouting no one throws stuff on my f ing stage, the air was full of cans and bottles, so Tommy Vance had to come on and plead to stop as it was damaging the equipment

I also was at this gig. I still have slides taken from my old CanonAV1 camera..great times.....I also saw AC-DC in 1984 headline monsters of rock also.
Never will forget when Slade played Crazy. The place just erupted. Glory days many thanks.

wow I was there! it was an awesome show, my biggest memory of that day was when Slade threw toilet roll streamers into the audience, and the audience threw everything back at the stage, cans, glasses, everything!, it was mayhem!
Yes and bottles of piss too, it was a good day though.
Can you remember Noddy asking what we wanted to hear, Everyone shouting Merry Christmas". Fuck off says Noddy, we are not playing that in August (Then they did) Cracking show.

I was there ! Quels souvenirs, un super festival. J'y retournais en 83 et là c'était WHITESNAKE la tête d'affiche. Et quelle formation !! Whitesnake commandos : Moody,Marsden, Neil Murray, John Lord & Cozy Powell.

This was one of Brian's first shows with AC DC and when he got to the side of the stage the security refused to let him on and tried to have him removed. It was only when Malcolm walked over that the security guy got the message.
Ahh no, they just finished recording For Those About To Rock before this gig.
Remember this so well, Slade had got the party rocking, Tommy Vance had been booo'd every time he came on stage, I like most there was drenched in other people piss, and on the way home tho coach smelt like a urinals and everybody was steaming, but what a day.
Was this the year when helicopters circled above stage and Cozy Powell soloed surrounded by flame effects then his kit actually set on fire? If not must've been a couple of years later when Whitesnake headlined. Many people missed coaches home including a 14 year old me and mate Daz. Police stopped already full buses and over-filled them with stranded idiots waiting at the exit. Luckily, Daz and me got a lift home sitting in the aisle of a coach owned by a different firm to the one we left Grimsby with.
Rainbow was the year before this so that might have been when Cosy Powell set fire to his drums, i missed it but i reckon it was the best line up ever with Judas Priest too. There was people trying to get a lift on coaches too this year but luckily we caught ours
So this was his first show with the Jay Dee SG?
