I love the Ohio State band. I think they’re the best in the country and I love the uniforms
I was there in the 1970s and some people were advocating for an "updating" of the band uniforms (thought them "too military" as the country was in its "Vietnam hangover"). Good thing it didn't go anywhere. Some things should never change, they are touchstones in alums lives. Hate people that keep wanting to change the football unis ("all black is so dope"). No. The Ohio State University represents timeless tradition to a lot of us.

The 360 FPV videos available on UA-cam are fabulous. They attach a camera to the Susaphonist who dots the eye, and it's amazing. There are also 360 FPV videos of trumpet, snare drum, bass drum, and others. Any BDBITL geeks out there will dig it.

Takes me back to 1975 when I was the drum major of the gorilla marching band in Pittsburgh, KS. We used to march from McCray hall to the stadium for the games
Back in the 70s Ohio University would take over the streets in town and the marching band came right on down every friday! Loved it.

My only requirement for the DJ at my wedding was this had to be the last song of the night. Carmen Ohio was the first song after the obligatory dances.

Old school! ❤ I miss the camaraderie of my college marching band, but I do not miss wearing the 2 extra layers under my uniform in the cold! Go Clarion Marching Golden Eagles! After 30+ years, I still sing the fight song to pep me up.
I miss all of it!
I wore thermals under my uniform nothing worse than playing a brass instrument and shivering in the cold.

There is a big difference in power 5 school bands and the bands in the HBCU’s. The entertainment view and feel is much different.
Each marchers deserves a band scholarship!!!

Very unique. Definitely different from an HBCU entrance. Love the style and discipline.
Both are great in their own way. But being from The South.....HBCUs are something to see.

People can say what they want about DIE, but I’m seeing more colored people in the band than I ever have, and the band is just as good as they’ve ever been. If not better.
