    You're making me so anxious to be riding them this April when I'll be down there for the Texas Fandango in Bandera. Funny, i was assembling my rear view mirror as i was watching. I've also down the seat and Airhawk thing. Larry in Fort Worth.

    I miss the Twisted Sisters. That was a great trip. Good to see Leakey score the concrete. Wish we could have gone to that museum. Those cabins are nice.

    Shiiit ! I feel sorry for Louie on the hog that got hit by a deer .... Luckily no Human damage tho' .... Reminds me of when my late Dad told me about the time he hit a wild boar on a BSA Bantam . He said it was like hitting a brick wall . It just got up & ran away & his bikes front end was stuffed !

    Man, I live vicariously through you bro!
    I want to become a biker myself. And the Rebel 1100 DCT is EXACTLY the bike I was looking to break into the culture with.

      Motorcycle culture is great if you can find like minded riders in your area. The real joy for me is just the Zen of riding. Of course, it's always better if I can share the experience with others, but it's the ride that clears my mind. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

    Im curious to know how "technical riding" translates from cross country dirtbike riding, reading the terrain and body positioning, to road bikes. Soon to find out

    One thing I've noticed is ,if you use a REFLECTED OUTER HELMET SHIELD it will make the inside helmet temperature cooler. Although they do scratch easier.

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  2 роки тому

      Agreed! I usually switch over to my reflective Iridium visor on long daytime trips. It helps to keep the sun off of my face and cheeks to prevent sunburn. 😉👍 --QM

    I enjoy your videos and have subscribed to your channel. I’m about to pick up a Rebel 1100 dct and would love to have your take on a good passenger seat and peg arrangement. I really want my wife to be comfortable. Thanks for any ideas.

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  9 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for the feedback and support! The Rebel 1100 isn't an ideal 2-up touring bike because of the limited rear suspension travel and the overall ergonomics. The passenger accommodations are limited (at best). You'll need to purchase the Honda OEM passenger seat kit to get the left passenger footpeg bracket and the folding footpegs.
      I would definitely invest in a good touring windshield from MadStad Engineering or Memphis Shades to give you some relief from the wind pressure at freeway speeds. The Rebel's seating position can make you feel like a flying squirrel, and that gets exhausting after a few hours of fighting the wind (e.g., hip flexors, upper body strain, etc). A decent windscreen will help to make the ride more enjoyable. Adding an engine crash guard with a set of folding highway pegs is also a good idea to reduce hip/knee stress on longer rides... that's still on my to-do list for my Rebel.
      The best option to increase passenger comfort is probably an aftermarket 2-up touring seat from Mustang or another quality aftermarket company. I would also strongly recommend adding a passenger backrest. The Honda backrest is decent, but it only provides a butt stop and maybe a tiny bit of lumbar support. An aftermarket unit with a taller support would be a better idea so your pillion has something to lean back against. You can see a good example on @LifeOfBurch with his Rebel setup.
      Good luck with your upcoming Rebel 1100 purchase! They are fun machines with a lot of character. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

    Great riding.
    What is it attached on the wind shield like convex mirror?
    What do you call it?

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  3 місяці тому +1

      That's the RiderScan Blindspot Mirror: amzn.to/3nJjXLp . If that one is out of stock, then there are several knock-offs that are cheaper and seem to work almost as well ( amzn.to/49WKaNu ). You can search Amazon or Ebay for "parabolic blindspot mirror" to find alternatives.
      This mirror really helps situational awareness in traffic. There is a learning curve to use it properly because the image is distorted by the mirror's convex shape, but it becomes second nature after a few hours of riding. It's very rare for me to be caught off-guard with a cager hiding in my blind spot while I'm riding with one of these mirrors. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

    Do you like the middle mirror? I bought one after watching an earlier video but haven’t put it on yet. Thanks

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  2 роки тому

      Yes, the Rider Scan mirror is great! The placement on this Daytona Blast Barrier isn't ideal because my arms block some of the peripheral view. Otherwise, it's still a valuable aid in traffic. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

    Does the Airhawk get hot? You know how MEGA hot bike seats get after you leave them in the sun for anything over a minute. Its so hot these days😭

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  2 роки тому

      The AirHawk's cover is an open-weave nylon mesh that promotes good airflow. It will get hot when left out in the sun, but it cools off quickly when you sit down on it... unlike a solid vinyl seat cover. 😉👍 --QM

    Which passenger seat and backrest was this?

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  25 днів тому

      Those are the Honda passenger seat/pegs and backrest kits. I never ride with a pillion, so I removed the backrest. I left the pegs and seat on there for strapping down luggage. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  Рік тому

      Howdy! The center mirror is the RiderScan Blindspot Mirror: amzn.to/3nJjXLp . If that one is out of stock, then there are several knock-offs that are cheaper and seem to work well. This mirror really helps situational awareness in traffic. There is a learning curve to use it properly because the image is distorted by the mirror's convex shape, but it becomes second nature after a few hours of riding. What size and model of Airhawk do you use for your rebel?

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  Рік тому

      Howdy, Steven! That's the AirHawk Cruiser Large: amzn.to/3Ll1Dod . I have a couple of these that I swap around on my different bikes and scoots. They just strap around the original seat... only 1 minute to put on and 10 seconds to take off. I couldn't have done several of my recent cross-country rides without these AirHawk pads, that's for sure! 😉👍 --QM

    Hey man, I saw in your original video you had to make adaptations to get the bar end mirrors to work, in a later video you received adapters for the bar end's but there was no follow up I could find. Do the adapters make it so you wouldn't have to dremel or modify anything to fit the mirrors?

    • @QuasiMotard
      @QuasiMotard  2 роки тому +1

      Howdy, Qball! That's a good catch from the previous video! Those Daytona bar-end adapters that I ordered from Webike Japan didn't work for me... they are for 1" or 1.25" mirrors, probably a specific mirror from Daytona. So, I'm still rolling with my hack using the stainless-steel flat washers as spacers. The CRG mirrors on the factory bar-ends are still working great. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
