You are correct about the source of the income for Alaska's Permanent Fund. More income is derived from the stock market and other investments that income from oil revenues.
The route you showed is not the Alaska Highway. The Alaska Highway starts in Dawson Creek on the British Columbia/Alberta border then proceeds to Whitehorse, then to Fairbanks. Access to this highway for Americans would start at the Montana/Alberta border then proceed through Alberta until Dawson Creek is reached.

What is easier, transporting tanks, infantry, artillery, and other military hardware first via boat to a beach in Alaska, and then moving the equipment across the rugged terrain of Alaska, potentially without roads, or, just transporting the military hardware via boat directly to a port like in Seattle WA? According to the internets, many cargo ships can go over 12,000 miles on a tank of fuel, which is enough to make the journey from Shanghai China to Seattle Washington (approx. 6,000 miles), potentially with enough remaining fuel to make the return journey without taking on any new fuel. Sea transport is the most efficient method of transporting large masses of equipment and supplies. Airplanes, trucks, and trains are all less efficient than large sea based transport vessels, in terms of transported kilograms per kilometer per fuel energy unit consumed. It is much easier to send a sea transport ship an extra 2000km (ex: to bypass Alaska and reach Washington state instead), than it is to traverse rugged terrain like in Alaska, even via roads. Tank treads wear out quickly, and they cannot drive around at high speed over long distances like cars, even on roads. For long distance transport, tanks are normally moved via railroad (and/or ship, when crossing seas). Bypassing Alaska altogether also would potentially eliminate need to trespass across Canadian territory to reach the mainland US. Basically, in terms of practicality of transporting large quantities of heavy military hardware, sea based cargo ships are better than roads. The seas are better than interstate highways, since the seas are not as vulnerable to sabotage/checkpoints/choke points/blockages (like destroyed bridges), and they already reach plenty of destinations on the mainland US. China has a massive civilian cargo ship fleet at its disposal. If it wanted to, it could easily transport all of their military hardware onto the mainland USA, basically in a single journey of their cargo ships (with naval military escorts), to any US port location (at least, after using enough nuclear and/or non-nuclear weapons to destroy any US military presence defending the port, prior to actually landing their own equipment). In a hypothetical all out war against the US, capturing Alaska would not likely be a high military priority. Destroying and/or capturing the US financial center (ex: New York), and the US seat of government (ex: Washington D.C.), would likely be much higher priority targets.

Fun Fact about Russia: It was Russia who saved The Union during the American Civil War as they sent their Navy to San Francisco and New York when England and France were just about to enter the war on the side of the Confederates since London created the Confederates. France was already in Mexico making a spear head movement to resupply the Confederates and to open up a Pacific Theatre and to create a port in California. England already amassed 11,000 troops and growing stationed at their Northern Confederacies border now called Canada ready to open a Northern Theatre to divert Union troops away from their Southern Confederacy then to attack The Unions naval blockade. The Union would have been completely destroyed and annexed by those two great powers leaving the Confederates to exist as either a puppet state of London or to be fully brought back into the fold of the British Empire. London was already courting (threatening/bribing) other countries to get involved like Spain while Russia was in talks with Prussia to ally with incase London was to intervene. Seeing all of this Tsar Alexander II wrote a letter to Queen Victoria saying “If you enter in this war it will be a casus belli for all out war with the Russian Empire”. The stage was set for the 1st World War and Russia stopped it. There is also a memorial in San Francisco for the hundreds of Russian sailors who came off their Asiatic fleet ships that died while helping the city put out a fire that threatened to lay waste to it during the War.
The Russian fleet also threatened to Shell Australian ports along with other British Pacific Colonies if Britain aided the Confederates. A confederate war ship spent a lot of time in Australian waters and was supported by the Australian public, some even signing on as crew members. This Confederate war ship laid waist to the US Pacific whaling fleet and is reported to have fired the last shot in the war. The name of the ship was called the CSS Shenandoah. Its surrender was at Liverpool England where Confederate Commander Bulloch was stationed. Bulloch was the head spy Chief for the Confederates and main go between for London, Montreal, and Richmond. He was heavily involved in the finance of the South with British banking and supplied the south with its warships as most of them were made by the British. He was good friends with those who drafted the Very discriminatory Confederate Constitution and those that would later create the 'Clan'. He was also heavily involved in the assassinations of Lincoln and his cabinet members. He was Also the Uncle to President Theodore Roosevelt (on his mothers side of course) and Teddy greatly looked up to him and learned much from him from a very early age. Teddy called him 'Uncle Jimmy'. This is where Teddy Roosevelt got the idea for the 'Eff Bee Eye' he modeled it almost exactly from Londons 'Em Eye Five'. Russia also helped Thailand (Kingdom of Siam) maintain its sovereignty from being completely Partitioned/Annexed from the British and French around the same time. The very word Thai (ไทย) means 'free man' in the Thai language which is partially to thank to the Russians as they might have ended up being a colony or part of another country/colony if not for their intervention.

I doubt anyone will read your correction in the description, so, unless you want people to continue ridiculing you, or writing you off all together, I suggest you make the needed corrections (yes, more than one, more than the capital {many commenters also lose credibility for misspelling "capital"}) and then reload the video. While most of what you present, I've either heard or read before, a layperson would easily doubt your facts and ideas because you got such basic things wrong. First, as many have pointed out, Juneau is the capital of Alaska. The Alaska Highway begins in Dawson Creek, BC, not Seattle. Adak Island in the Aleutians was a Naval Base. The Japanese invasion of Kiska and Attu was part of a bigger plan to attack the Mainland US, not as a defensive position. The Air Force had four major bases in Alaska, Elmendorf, Eielson, King Salmon and Galena. I believe it important to more accurately represent the Distant Early Warning (DEW Line) and Long-Distance Radar Stations, which stretched all the way from Thule Air Base in Greenland, across Arctic Canada, through Northern and Western Alaska and culminating in the current major radar base on Shemya Island, near Attu. Another major active radar installation also exist at Clear. The Army has Ft Richardson and Ft Wainwright, and Ft Greely is home to the Missile Defense System. The Coast Guard has a major base at Kodiak. I just believe that if you are going to make a case for Alaska's strategic importance, you point is made easier showing how fortified Alaska was at the height of the Cold War.

Our state is obviously massive, but in spite of that, I've been to most of the places and probably have a connection to each; I actually used to work at the lodge at 2:23. Why is it that millionaires, billionaires, and liberals keep buying ocean front property all over the world if their property is going to be under water in 30 years?
Sea level has been rising at a little less than two (2) mm/yr since the 1880s at the tail end of the colloquially named "little ice age." Despite the msm's constant commentary to the contrary, there has been no acceleration in that rate since CO2 levels started rising. As for sea ice, winter 2024 saw the highest volumn in the arctic in the last twenty years ... repeat, the highest ice volumn in the last twenty years.
Before it was banned, it was used as an additive for Chevrolet Corvette rear ends to stop positraction chatter . It was also used to stop rocker arm squeaking and was added to Chevrolet automatics to make them shift smoother.
During minute 14 of this video, you claim that "the great circle routes" are important because "they shorten the distance between the two continents." No, they don't shorten anything. They are shorter routes than going straight east-west across the Pacific, but they don't actually change the distance along the surface of the globe.
Informative. Here's a question for you. If I were to move to Alaska, other things being equal would it be more useful for me to be driving full size pickup like the Ford F150 Raptor or Tremor, or a full size suv like a GMC Yukon AT4 or new Ford Expedition Tremor, all having quality tires, so the tires don't make the difference?
It'd be better to officially move the capital to Anchorage than correct the video author. Juneau was a short-sighted choice built on a brief gold rush and is basically inaccessible by land. A vast, underpopulated state like Alaska can't afford any more de-centralization than necessary, and Anchorage is clearly the best possible spot for a city taking all factors into account. Putting the state government on what's effectively an island 570 miles away is the equivalent of West Virginia putting its government in Nantucket.
What is this silly "rapidly rising sea levels"? How can the sea level "rise " in one area and not another. Do you realize the water surrounding the Statue of Liberty is the exact same level as it was when it was erected?
That quarter inch of rising sea levels sure made a big difference. Why didn’t they just file off a quarter inch off the bottom of the ships long ago ? 🤡
The economic exclusion zone is not the same as territorial waters. The United States goes through the Chinese economic exclusion zone all the time as it exercises freedom of navigation.
Sea level is not uniformed like a perfect sphere due to gravity, typhoons. So a increase in one region can mean a decrease else where. However on average sea level rises 3 mm per year
You are clueless, aren't you? Get your head out of the sand and do some research, and you will discover that sea levels are actually rising. It is not catastrophic amounts but still is occurring.
At 2:13, you call Anchorage a "large U.S. city." Uh, Anchorage ranks as the 74th largest U.S. city. Is number 74 really large enough to be called one of the largest ???
Whale oil harvesting has not been done in Alaskan waters since the 1800s and the sea levels have not been "rapidly rising." Yes, less north sea ice has allowed much more shipping to access the arctic waters for transportation routes. Russia has been at the forefront of arctic shipping for a long time. The United States is lagging way behind with only one ice breaking Coast Guard cutter patrolling our waters.
Yes but is it REALLY rising and melting.? These changes are Very minor and seasonal and larger changes back through deep time correlate with changes in our sun. …. not cow farts

Alaska does not have universal basic income. It does have once a year pay out from the permanent fund due to oil royalties. The checks are not large enough to cover a year of expenses.......the check on average is about 1,600 or less...
Anchorage was capital of Alaska thene in late 70 all records were being moved to Juneau because it's harder to access by the people of Alaska ezyer to control by the fewer people government.
Pretty sure by the time I comment people have pointed this out, BUT, Dude, do your proper research. Anchorage is NOT the capital of Alaska. It is Juneau. They should change it to Anchorage, since the reasons it is Juneau are moot.
A very large part of Alaska's land mass is held by the US government which is not supposed to be a business r corporation. They will not give citizens this land anymore. They have no business doing this.
What. . That's bs.... tougher how....? been in Fairbanks for over 50 yrs . Hasn't really changed except things are easier.......you can't be from Fairbanks......this whole video is baloney......
Russia can dig a shipping canal across Chukotka Peninsula to avoid the Bering Strait, if need be, eliminating this choke point. Also the NW Route isn't feasable, as US trade with China is declining & US/Canadian CGs don't have enough big icebreakers for year round navigation.
Digging shipping canals is hugely expensive and would be even more expensive in a desolate isolated place like chukotka which has next to zero infrastructure for supporting or even starting such a project….plus Russia lacks the money and manpower to do it anyways between sanctions and the war in ukraine.
First of all, there's nothing sudden about it. Alaska has been strategically important for decades. Secondly, economic exclusion zone is not the same thing as territorial waters. As far as military vessels are concerned, those are international waters.

Uh, excuse me for being picky, but right now no one really knows the amount of oil that Alaska has.
Alaska capital is Juneau , not anchorage
During minute 15 of this video, you again mention the "retreat of Arctic ice."
However, the graphic that you show doesn't do much to support that idea.
Further, you don't specify how much "retreat" has occurred.
I have a relative who has lived along the Shoreline in a small town in Alaska. He has lived their for 40 years, and the water shoreline is the same today as it was 50 years ago. This lie about global warming melting ice and thus raising the water level is an out and out lie pushed to convince idiots to continue electing Socialists who only care about destroying our freedom!
Where can you prove that SEA levels are rising I live on a island in the pacific ocean haven't seen it yet....
I love his Tunes! Great artist.
At 2:32, please explain the value of whale oil.
Also, please list the uses of whale oil.
Before it was banned, it was used as an additive for Chevrolet Corvette rear ends to stop positraction chatter . It was also used to stop rocker arm squeaking and was added to Chevrolet automatics to make them shift smoother.
@@laurence72delucchi46 -- Thanks, I don't remember ever hearing of such uses.
During minute 14 of this video, you claim that "the great circle routes" are important
because "they shorten the distance between the two continents."
No, they don't shorten anything.
They are shorter routes than going straight east-west across the Pacific,
but they don't actually change the distance along the surface of the globe.
Stop lieing about the sea levels period. When billionaires and millionaires have House's on the Beach????
Yup, Obama, Biden, and Pelosi all own houses on the seashore
because they know about rising sea levels. HaHaHa
Japan invaded and held Kiska and Attu during WWII. This should be cited.
Sea levels have not risen in the past 100 yrs.
Rapidly rising sea levels????
Yup, that's probably the reason that Obama, Biden, and Pelosi own houses on the seashore.
At 14:59, you state that "Anchorage and Alaska" are at the center of shipping lanes.
Why did you say "Anchorage and Alaska" ?
Good video. Make some more.
I live in Northern Alaska. There's three ships more this year than last year. And thats because of ice breakers.
Clearly, you know nothing about Alaskan politics!
AI doesn’t know state capitals.
When the North Pole melts, Santa and his Dwarfs will need somewhere to breed reindeer.
Still more plausible than GloBULL warming… 😂
What is this silly "rapidly rising sea levels"? How can the sea level "rise " in one area and not another. Do you realize the water surrounding the Statue of Liberty is the exact same level as it was when it was erected?
well...the fact that Earth's mass is uneven (and in turn gravity) is at least one pretty large reason..
Are we a alternate fallout universe 🤔
And yes didn't watch the video 😁👍
America can reach Russia and China quicker from Alaska (just like it did in WW2)
Coast Guard Cutter NOT Cutler. 🤦🏿♂️
Japan only occupied 2 islands Attu & Kiska.
Alaska has a megga rail link and is home to c20,000 US servicemen I believe. Its probably the most important state in the US.
15:22 shiver me timbers🥶
There goes “THE LAST FRONTIER “
That quarter inch of rising sea levels sure made a big difference. Why didn’t they just file off a quarter inch off the bottom of the ships long ago ? 🤡
Within the EEZ (200 nautical miles from shore) isn't U.S. waters.
The geography "was shunned"? Nice malapropism.
The economic exclusion zone is not the same as territorial waters. The United States goes through the Chinese economic exclusion zone all the time as it exercises freedom of navigation.
“What’s the capital of Alaska?”…
“Jeanau?”
“No I’m asking you!”
0:35 Strike one - sea levels aren't rising
Sea level is not uniformed like a perfect sphere due to gravity, typhoons. So a increase in one region can mean a decrease else where. However on average sea level rises 3 mm per year

I wish people would stop crapping on about "RAPIDLY RISING SEA LEVELS". It's simply not happening.
You are clueless, aren't you? Get your head out of the sand and do some research, and you will discover that sea levels are actually rising. It is not catastrophic amounts but still is occurring.
@@MatAK49 Sea levels are not rising. Look at Maldives and Tuvalu. There is however rise and fall of the tectonic plates.
They've been *slowly* rising since the peak of the last ice age...people used to walk from Asia to America.
@@johng4093 how about - before you write something dumb, do a little research (like 4 years at university), then comment.
Alaska should be wealthier than Norway, with universal healthcare, world class universities, affordable housing. Stop dreaming
ya right. u guys have no idea. alsaka is poor af and it will be until oil price decides to skyrocket, or economy diversifies.
At 2:13, you call Anchorage a "large U.S. city."
Uh, Anchorage ranks as the 74th largest U.S. city.
Is number 74 really large enough to be called one of the largest ???
Yeah, you tell him Anchorage is not the capital although they keep trying to put Anchorage as a capital they found that it would cost too much money
I wonder if purposely breaking oce with ships has an effect on the amount of ice lose
I'D BET YOU'RE RIGHT!
Yes but is it REALLY rising and melting.?
These changes are Very minor and seasonal and larger changes back through deep time correlate with changes in our sun.

Berring wasn not the first to sail/navigate across the Berring straight. He was preceded by Inuit/Eskimo/Inuit, Native American Indians, Proto-Indians and possibly Denisovans and Homo Erectus.
How rapidly are the seas rising
You lost me when you can’t even get the capital right
Then why are we buying oil from other countries
Whole video is inaccurate. Not just the Capital part. Wikipedia skimmed slop
Anchorage is NOT the capital!!
At 1:18, you state that Alaska's capitol is Anchorage.
HaHaHa -- Yeah, sure -- When are you going to tell
the folks in Juneau that Anchorage is the capitol ???
Its loaded with natural resources and should be protected at all costs
Maybe you should consider covering UK.
Alaska does not have universal basic income. It does have once a year pay out from the permanent fund due to oil royalties. The checks are not large enough to cover a year of expenses.......the check on average is about 1,600 or less...
Sea levels aren't rapidly rising.
Russia sub off south Carolina 300 to 500 miles off the USA ones to
Juneau is the capitol of Alaska not Anchorage.
Anchorage is not the capital.
"are poised to play", does that mean more jobs for average Americans? Thus lowering the state's 4.6 unemployment rate? That would be awesome!
A very large part of Alaska's land mass is held by the US government which is not supposed to be a business r corporation. They will not give citizens this land anymore. They have no business doing this.

You said anchorage is the capital of Alaska more than once what's your problem what kind of research do you do get out a here
Russia can dig a shipping canal across Chukotka Peninsula to avoid the Bering Strait, if need be, eliminating this choke point.
Why u calling my home a wasteland? I love it here. My peaceful life outside Anchorage. Nothing better
Alaskas Capital is Juneau
Not Anchorage
Anchorage is the largest city
Apart from this glaring mistake, is there any comment about the rest of the issues or so called information.
Find a narrator able to correctly pronounce Alaska place names!
First of all, there's nothing sudden about it. Alaska has been strategically important for decades. Secondly, economic exclusion zone is not the same thing as territorial waters. As far as military vessels are concerned, those are international waters.
