Throughout history, our planet has been through multiple ice ages and fully covered in ice at least twice. From the poles to the equator, the Earth was a giant snowball at least several times.

This is the second-largest ice sheet on Earth. It has an impressive thickness of nearly 2 miles [3.2 kilometers], covering 80% of the area of Greenland. Here, rapid glaciers like Jakobshavn move at an astonishing 150 feet [45 meters] per day, reshaping the landscape, while coastal waters create icebergs towering 300 feet [90 meters], about the height of the Statue of Liberty.
But these things are not what makes the island unique.
To this day, the frozen surface hides all kinds of secrets. But scientists have already started uncovering some of them, and what they’ve found was difficult to predict…
No mention of Greenland's recent past . During the Roman warm period and Medievil warm period ,(1500 and 1000 years ago ) Greenland was farmed by the Danes and Vikings as these periods were up to 5c warmer and a lot of the ice had melted . With the onset of the ''Little ice age '' in about 1500 the farmers left and the Greenland ice sheet returned .
Danes were also vikings.

Was Greenland once a lush rain forest because it was located closer to the equator (through plate tectonics)? Or because the entire planet was warmer at that time?

It's crazy the resolution of time between the hiawatha impact and the approximate estimate using sand crystals to date back the impact, one is in a moment of minutes and seconds, with this being an appoximation to a million years, but to think about the discounted to the hundred thousandth ie instead of 57 million years, 56.94212 mya.
