Hey sir you might not see this but i tried this on my 1988 jetta coupe with a 5 speed manual and all i heard was a click from the starter then it stopped and didnt work no more. Now when i flick the switch for the hazard lights the relay just buzzes. Do you know what the issue might be and do you know if everything will all be fine if i just simply change the relay?😊

Why do I see a lot of info on failed ignition switches? ..is it because there are only these $10 pieces of chinashit replacements available? Is there a $20 or even $40 OEM quality replacement available?...this is a serious question!

For me the OEM cast metal piece broke at end of the key cylinder. My ignition switch was fine. But good luck finding an oem key cylinder 😉 I found an OEM on eBay
