    Would you recommend replacing the high pressure fuel line bucket at around 75,000 miles if you haven't had any problems just to be safe?

      I try, but the gas left in the line always finds a way out after. Like when I pull the fuel rail I shoots out. Or when the engine is already out and totally disconnected I'll pop the fuel line and there is still quite a bit of pressure left.

      I was prepared did exactly like you had rag wrapped and even put plastic over motor under the fuel line lot of electrical connections etc. but couldn't get quick connect line off even after shaving down 5/16 plastic removal tool. There's only .35 of an inch clearance for tool get on, did take lil more than I wanted off tool it was down too .30 of inch (measurements done with calipers)

    Hey you think I should change the camshaft After I change fuel pump I just seen this and concerned cause I haven’t change mines since I got it I change oil engine on time I even changed the transmission oil a while back still happening the symptoms I looked up are similar she driving fine but sometimes I’ll get a really hard jerk while that is occurring the gas pedal would be floored but the car engine feels like it don’t want to proceed acceleration then the jerk will happen then back to driving fine idk if it’s the fuel pump catching the camshaft or what I done changed spark plugs ,Coils the purge valve connection ,next is the fuel pump , some car people say it’s either suspension problem or my motor mounts but this seems something else vital Can you tell me what’s going If you know please and thank you

    This is a great video! I appreciate you trying to help guys at home checking and fixing their cars. Would you recommend pulling the high pressure fuel pump to see if the engine was properly baked before diving into other fixes on it? T30 Torx works better. I broke a T27 on the first bolt. Replaced my pump because the cam follower bucket had a hole in it. Just removed the replacement cam love bucket 3 days later and it’s wearing a bit. Gonna continue to try polishing the cam to try and avoid replacing the exhaust cam.

    What causes this to be replaced? This happened to me but not sure what was done to cause it to fail. Been on top of oil changes and always change a few hundred miles before what they recommend. Thank you in advance.

    • @FordBossMe
      @FordBossMe  Рік тому +1

      Well it could be because the pump itself was starting to go bad not supplying enough fuel pressure to the high pressure injectors or it could be that the bucket that the pump Drive rides on wore out

    Hi, Thank you for the video, really appreciate you sharing the details on the engine. I currently have a 2023 ford maverick (EB 2.0), and I notice the HPFP is getting louder compare to when I first got it, and I noticed some strong gasoline smell from the engine oil cap. The dealer said everything is normal and within the "normal" range :(. I was thinking about to change the HPFP to the Bosch one, and would you recommend to do so? Also, without removing the engine, is it still possible to crank the engine to the "flat" spot when installing the new HPFP? Thank you

    Took my 2014 ford fusion se 1.5 to dealer for an no start (car would start for 10sec/5mins sometimes than cut off and would be hard to start again) they said HP pump I changed it plus tappet and still no start do I have to make sure surface is flat in order for it to start or no ?

    • @FordBossMe

      No seems like they were wrong it could be low pressure pump

    • @FordBossMe
      @FordBossMe  Рік тому +1

      What happens is if the low pressure pump goes bad the vehicle will still start because the high pressure pump will pull vacuum on the fuel system enough to barely be able to get fuel up there and it will run kind of rough it won't run right and it will take a while to start

    Question on the 1.5L. Working on a 19 escape involved in an accident. Front end cosmetic. Car driven in and out of shop past couple weeks with no issues. After winter storm over the weekend, developed fuel leak. Traced to LH end of head. Looks like a small core plug is missing from a hole. Am I correct on this missing core plug or pressed in ball? My tappet has a hole in the bottom of it and some small metal chipped off. What should i do?

    • @FordBossMe
      @FordBossMe  3 роки тому +1

      Honestly if you got metal in the oil its only a matter of time before something bad happens with oil pressure to be honest with you
      I will try to find a magnetic drain plug that fits your car do any metal that's in there will collect on that drain plug can you can change the oil few times and try to clean that metal off
      And I would do a couple of oil changes weather in short intervals but now you're at the mercy of whenever that Metal gets into a bearing and scores up the surface
      The fix for metal inside a motor is, motor Rebuild or replacement.

  • @petervarga4592
    @petervarga4592 2 роки тому +1

    Hi Tanks for the very detailed video. Just one question. If I change the oil every 10K kms (roughly 6000 miles), how long do you think the tappet will last? I mean, do I have to have it inspected regularly or is there a certain mileage or time during which I can be certain it will last?

    • @FordBossMe
      @FordBossMe  2 роки тому +1

      Change by every 5k max not 6k
      The tappets last a long time there is no number and should be the life of the vehicle

I have kept up with oil changes for the most part, but there was one or two times that I let it go a few thousand extra miles. It has 123,000 miles on it. Today I checked the vvt solenoid and the screen on the end was covered with bits of stuff.
