  • One of the most common questions I get is how I make my nice cream or smoothie bowls so thick and creamy. Many people struggle with this because they use too much liquid in their bowls and/or no frozen fruit. In this video I give you a full tutorial of how I make my perfect smoothie bowls with that fluffy, creamy and thick texture everyone wants!

If you don't have an expensive blender you can use a food processor and use the cheese grater attachment and a little almond milk and it'll come out really well. Also, it's super important not to over blend. Your blender/food processor heats up pretty quickly when you're using it and it'll start to melt the fruit. Blend for the minimum amount of time

woah... cool but I don't even have a food processor... the only 'blendy' thing I have in my house apart from a hand mixer is the Oster mason jar blender. It literally only blends liquids, soft fruits, and soft veggies. Help. 😂

Guys ! YES you can make an banana ice cream with a cheap blender ! But you just have to put your banana and blend, for me it turn into a small piece but next i take a spoon and push the banana in the bottom of the blender and blend you just have to repeat this 2/3 times and you have a banana ice cream without any milk ! When i put milk the ice cream melts faster so dont put milk or water :)

    • @ulazalyte
      @ulazalyte 4 роки тому +45

Tea Is spilled oh she called it right. And it’s not ice cream, it’s nice cream. Nice cream is like a thick paste of blended fruit , often milk or nuts too. It has to be cold , so it often tastes like ice cream, but way healthier of course.
A smoothie bowl isn’t always cold. It can be warm too

Actually Vitamix recommends speeding up to 10 pretty quickly when making thick things like nice cram, nut butters or hummus, because it activates the internal cooling fan and will actually cool your engine better than on the lower speeds when the internal fan is not on full blast. So using full speed actually protects you Vitamix from overheating and stopping :D You are more likely to overheat your engine making these things on low speed! (This information is from Vitamix themselves by the way, and I have the exact same blender as you and I love it!)

    2 C frozen watermelon chunks
    1/2 C frozen dark cherries
    Put into food processor with
3 TBS MCT oil (to help not freeze solid)
31 C cocoa ( more or less to taste)
    1 C water
    1/4 C erythritol
    1 tsp almond oil
Pulse for a couple minutes, then
Blend until smooth and we’ll combined
I can’t even taste the watermelon. It’s just a tangy sweet chocolate flavor. 😋 Yum! Try it!

Protip, buy one of those small single glass "personal size" blenders and they work just as well for things like this. They can blend as well as a vitamix but only cost like 15-30 dollars. It works because they use the power of a cheap blender but the glass is simply smaller so they have way more power proportionally. The downside is you can't make a bunch all at once but its not hard to work around.

Great video :) Personally though, I make nice cream every day for breakfast, and I use 2 fresh bananas along with the jucie from half a lemon. Then I add around half a cup of frozen mango and about 8 frozen strawberries. This produces the same result more or less, and it's easier since I never have to freeze anything, can just buy already frozen strawberries and mango :P Cacao nibs are a great topping, and I usually add a handful of cashews into the food processor towards the end of the blending, just to add a few nut chunks in there. Great taste :)

Yes there is. I have experimented with many combinations of frozen bananas with other fruits:avocado, blueberries, strawberries, frozen pineapple, mangoes etc. ( and combinations of them)
They each give their own distinct flavors to the mix and help avoid the boredom that can result from eating just bananas no matter how much you like them.
There are tons of nondairy ice cream recipes on UA-cam. It’s fun trying them out.

There is a banana flavour but I personally think a fresh banana tastes more "banana" than what a frozen banana does. Try mix with it combined with raspberries! you can use also use full fat thick coconut cream with any frozen fruit but it will be more creamy consistency if you use fruit with less water content (like bananas) as papaya ang mango :)

I used to religiously peel the bananas beforehand and put them into the freezer in plastic baggies.
Then I got lazy and put them in plastic baggies WITH the skins on. I peeled them with a small paring knife. The skins peel off easily.
Now I am even lazier. I just toss ripe bananas into the freezer without baggies.
I have not experienced any difference in taste or quality of eating experience.

Chop ripe unfrozen bananas into smaller pieces and then freeze them overnight. Freeze any other small pieces of fruits that you like. Thaw them out for four or five minutes and then blend them quickly ... and quickly refreeze the results for awhile...your decision how long.

ANY frozen fruit works. In the summertime when fruit is plentiful and cheaper at my local farmers’ market, I stock up on not only bananas, but blueberries, pineapple, and strawberries.
I wash them, pat them dry, then put one fistful into small freezer baggies. I build up quite a collection in the freezer.
Then, when I want to make a smoothie or some “nice cream,” I just reach in and grab the fruit or fruits of my choice and blend away. It’s fun to mix and match them for variety in flavors.
There are some great avocado ice cream recipes. Canned coconut cream also makes a great ice cream as an alternative to dairy ice cream.
You freeze it IN THE CAN. Then when you are ready to use it, you just scoop it out and toss it into the blender. There is also a coconut cream CONDENSED MILK. It is very sweet.
You chill it in the can, add it to the mixer with the frozen coconut cream, add a little vanilla extract. You end up with a non-dairy version of vanilla ice cream.
Get yourself some of those soft ice cream storage containers. They look like the round Ben and Jerry or Haagen Das containers. Then you can whip up several batches of nice cream and store them in the freezer just like regular ice cream containers.😀

Love the comments above! As they say, you can use full fat thick coconut cream with any frozen fruit but it will be more creamy consistency if you use fruit with less water content (like bananas) as papaya ang mango :)
