HOT HALLOWEEN TREND: Thrifted Ghost Paintings (with STENCILS)

- In this video, we are hopping on one of the hottest trends in the art community for 2023 and that is Thrift Store Ghost Paintings! For this trend, go to your local thrift store, grab some old paintings and turn any old picture into Halloween decor by painting ghosts or other Halloween favorites. As much as we love this trend, we know it can be a bit scary (pun intended) if you don't feel comfortable free-handing these designs. But it doesn't have to be spooky (pun intended) because you can use your STENCILS! We show you several examples of how to use your Halloween background and pattern stencils to create this super fun trend!
In this video, you'll learn how to paint on different surfaces, like paper, pre-printed canvas, frames and glass. You'll also learn how to choose which type of paint to use for the different surface and how to pick and choose bits and pieces of your stencil to create a story.

That one without the frame u could add a mist of grey or do a light coat of dark.bluenor purple and actually change the time.of day before u add the ghost

Could be expanded beyond Halloween and add big foot to woodsy scenes. Or UFOs. Or anything holiday related like Santa Claus or Cupid or paint Jack Frost in a winter scene

How would you make the ghosts transparent?
You can use a really like blue for that look. We did that here with butterfly wings
