I play the John Renbourn acoustic guitar version but I wasn't aware that it could be sung... I thought it was an instrumental. Hauntingly and mystically beautiful lyrics. Thank you! Uplifts the soul. Hello fellow Michigander! What a beautiful performance of this song!! I was looking for this song to share with my teen Americana/folk-pop singer-songwriter daughter Aspen. She has been supported by the Wheatland Music Organization's scholarship program to study traditional songs.

She's apparently a rising start in the folk arts and you have every right to be proud of that. I attended Wheatland's Dance Camp (usually on Memorial weekend) a couple of times, but the annual post-labor day festival many times. It's an amazing organization, so I wish your daughter all the best in her studies.
