Great performance, amazing sound, so much emotion! It's such an honor you revived these jewels; the first song is simply divine! The Sirba could be named "Youth Sirba" since it's so joyful and full of energy. The Doina for mrme seems just a little bit too fast, but maybe is just my impression. You could name it "Ardeal's Doina".
these pieces make me nostalgic for the now-lost cassette tapes in my grandparents house, esp 6min and on... I also hear elements of taraf de haidouk's piece inspired by horses galloping
Thanks, Tamar! Glad you were reminded of horses galloping... the rhythm of 6:00+ also definitely reminds me of watching the horses gallop, and also the movement of horse carts, something I often see when I'm in Transylvania (even on major highways!🙂) It's a foundational rhythmic and visual aspect of the region, I think 💙
It's not supposed to be romanian folk music but klezmer, it bears a very strong resemblance to our folk music because it developed from it but is now a distinct genre in itself. I think acknowledging the romanian origins of these tunes, modified as they may be is as much respect as they can grant the source material.
History, culture, diversity, union, divine. Just a few key aspects discovered. Congratulations and much success in what you do !
Beautiful
Excellent.
This video demonstrates the complexity of the Maramures and Transylvanian culture.
Hoping for better days for all.
Beautiful! So glad you posted this. Incredible playing. Looking forward to seeing the rest of these.

@@zavalonzavalon2739 We’re playing in Sighetu Maramației, Romania which is on the border with Ukraine.
Evil cannot create, only pervert and destroy. Sounds vaguely like something from Maramures but without the wormth and the soul.

@@florentin5840 Thanks for making the point for me.
romanian music also imported a lot from turks, slavs and hungarians. it|s normal, no nation has unaltered virtues, get over it
Cringe...
get over yourself loser
meh... some resemblance. some
You know that most of this stuff is new, don't you? Art and culture in general moves. It is called evolution.
:))) nu sunteti romani...n-aveti cu sa o cantati...noi o simtim...luati exemplu ua-cam.com/video/3JPaqk8fpCw/v-deo.html
