Hi David, that was a fantastic watch, you used the "necessity is the mother of invention" proverb so many times, fixing things, getting around problems, all fantasti ally done to perfection. The round base of the stand was a case in point, you cannot see that there was any repair done to it, thats the mark of a craftsman. It was also a nice touch and great idea to put your clients property name on the cue holder using the little wooden pieces, very classy. Once again a brilliant restoration so professionally done. Hugs for Daisy ❤ 🐕
Awww thanks so much Kate, what a really lovely comment and thanks so much for the SUPER THANKS gift, it’s really appreciated and very generous of you. I’ll give Daisy a big hug from you 😀🐶❤️❤️
I am a snooker fan. I have seen your previous snooker scoreboard restoration. It is so nice to see such tasteful designs. And of course you have brought them back to their best state David ❤️❤️❤️
I always enjoy the more unusual projects and also the problem solving. Glass blowers have a saying, "It's not about what you can make, but what you can fix."
Oh my those will now take pride of place in your customers home they are so beautiful ❤️ Two genius ideas in one episode you really are spoiling us David. One from the customer to hold the cues in and the one from you for the engraved wood toppers 😍 Used to love a bit of snooker when I was younger Alex 'Hurricane' Higgins was one I watched among some of the most amazing players at the time. Never played it but I did play pool a lot and even for 'a woman' I was quite good at it I may have upset a few of the regulars in my local (if I am honest it was a lot of pure jammy luck 😂). Couldn't play these days sadly. Thanks for the clips and the humour and of course thanks for Daisy 🥰
Hi Lynda. Thanks so much, you’re really kind and so generous. I remember Hurricane Higgins very well. Snooker was a massive thing in our family at that time, Steve Davis was a family favourite. In fact, one year I went to Butlins with my grandparents and my Auntie Jill ( she’s 3 years older than me) and she played a frame with Steve Davis and Ray Reardon!!! They were doing exhibition matches. 😀😀 we also had a small snooker table in the dining room on top of the dining table. So glad you enjoyed the video and thanks again for your continued support 😀🐶❤️❤️
Your patience and humor makes it a pleasure to watch you meet these challenging restores. Daisy always makes me smile and laugh at her sassy personality.🥰😆❤
Another masterpiece. After all this time I am running out of superlatives to describe your beautiful work and your insistence on perfection, always. Superb manual skills teamed with sensitive artistic flair and original ideas. Your client can add more of your creations to his snooker/billiard room with pride and confidence. Well done Daisy for her selfless devotion in keeping your weight down at lunchtimes. This act of self sacrifice on her part shows how much she loves you. What a beautiful soul.
Hahaha thanks Pamela, your comments are always so brilliant and I really appreciate them. Daisy is very selfless and even though she really didn’t want any of my pie, she was just trying to look out for me 😂😂🐶😀❤️❤️
Don't let your efforts get bogged down in side inserts of cartoons/movies. They take away from your hard and excellent work...and I mean excellent work!
Actually I'm thinking he's right, you're showing both the base and the top right side up. But if you were to flip the top upside down you'd find some kind space or way to hold and protect the cue tip. You can tell exactly how many times I've been in a pool hall. Like never.
Lol, I was basing my deduction on the flat piece of wood next to the base. And when you took the holder apart it did look like the piece of wood used as it's base had been what I described above. I really hope your clients Snooker hall becomes a great place for people to get together and have fun. I don't know how it is in England, though I do know Brits have a reputation of betting on everything. Most of the pool halls, are not family friendly places. Can you imagine how much fun a family friendly Snooker hall would be? P.s. Thank you for pronouncing baize. I'm an avid reader. I think I've read everything from Christie and many of the other great British authors and I never was sure how to pronounce it.
Apart from being in awe of your workmanship, I’m particularly impressed by your patience! If it was me, the piece would have gone on the fire, my video would have been taken down and my account suspended for bad language! 😳🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Great to see Daisy is still a little love - fame obviously isn’t spoiling her 😜
Hahaha I get that comment a lot about my patience. There are the odd times where the language coming out of my mouth isn’t for publication 😂😂 Daisy is keeping it real 🐶😂
Once again David, you hit a home run! Your sense of humor is showing…..I loved the animations! Your progress has been enjoyable to watch. I realized while watching this video that your problem solving skills are something one can learn from, not only for wood working, but other aspects of hand crafting! Way. To. Go! Sending you warm wishes for continues success from sunny Arizona! 😎👍🏻👍🏻
Your customer must have a very impressive billiard room with all your wonderful restorations within it . Beautiful. All the best to you daisy and your wife in 2025.
Absolutely brilliant...they will stand the test of time for many years to come...BTW did you weaken off camera and give Daisy some Pie...I know I would have done. ..lol
You do the most unique pieces of furniture and other wood items David. And you’re quite the master of coming up with the best way to repair too. This went from gross to handsome and I bet it’s gonna be a show stopper in this man’s house. Well done. Beautiful work ❤️👍🏼
Wow! That was some work on the two piece cue holder! Doth holders turned out wonderful! I am particularly fond of the round one though. Love Daisy - she is so cute begging for lunch…. Just like mine, they act like they never get anything to eat!’😂❤❤
You brought out the beauty, as you always do, regardless of how damaged and unloved a piece may be. It might be an older video that you'd forgotten but well worth watching. Skilled as you are David, I think your co-star, Miss Daisy, is stealing the show! 🐕💕
Just gorgeous work! Looking forward to many wonderful videos this year. When using the ratcheting strap, you can use double-sided tape with sandpaper to keep the strap from slipping. It's a trick I learned from my dad. He would glue strips of sandpaper which were then removed during the stripping/finishing.💕
Stellar job, it came out nicer than it has probably ever been. Wound rope from natural fibre will wrap around any shape and tighten with a twist, with enough grip to pull odd things together and stay in place..
Being an ancient snooker/billiards player I have seen the wall mounted cue holder before and the leather belt did not go all the way across. There were tongues of leather sticking out and as the cue was pushed into the gap the leather tongues would flip outward which stopped the cue falling out. Good restoration 👍
I always have so much fun watching your videos. This one was no exception. The stain and finish on the upright snooker cue rack is really nice. I especially like the wooden chips spelling out the name of the client’s property. 👍
Poor Daisy! She so wanted to share your lunch. ❤ I have to say, that you have the patience of a Saint. I would have given up long ago. As is usual for you, another brilliant job completed. Well done David ❤.
Hello. I love seeing Miss Daisy, mighty huntress, pouncing on her toy. This piece is very beautiful. I doubt i have the patience for all those fiddly bits.
😂 how Daisy was looking at you eating was exactly how Pippin was looking at me the minute she heard your voice - because i didnt tell her what i was watching! Beautiful restoration and lovely to see Daisy being Daisy, whilst Pippin was sat paying attention throughout 😊
I only know about staining what I've seen from watching. One thing I've learned from watching is that that after you sand it with the 240 you can remove the dust, spritz it with water to open up the grain again, wipe it down, let it dry and Bob's your uncle it will accept the stain better. AT restorations is amazing with matching colors. But he usually uses Hardin's water based stains. They're a bit fussy to work with because you need to apply it all at once and wipe it down immediately. Love the Jacobean, Jay uses it a lot too. Such a beautiful color.
I'd heard of snookers but never knew what it was. Looked it up. Never knew it was like billiards. Feel enriched. And what wonderful work you did on the pieces. So much skill and patience went into the work.
I'd never heard of Snooker, thank you for telling us what it is. I'm glad to see the beautiful restoration. I'm sure your customer and his family will enjoy the holders for a long time. Amazing job David, with the support of Daisy!

Thanks so much Ismail. I love everything you do also. 😀❤️❤️
An awesome restoration as always! You are a true artist! And Miss Daisy is always a treat to watch.
Thanks so much 😃🐶❤️
When you have done all the pieces, I'd love to see the collection in their 'natural habitat'.
I think the customer sent me some pics of them in situ. I'll look for them and post on my community page 😃👍
Talk about making a silk purse out of a sow's ear! And an uncooperative sow's ear. That's a lovely restoration.
😀🐶❤️
Those look great! Your customer will be well-pleased!
Thanks very much 😃
Something about old wood that when refinished, takes on a beauty that compares to nothing else. It's just beautiful. Well done. Hi to daisy.
I agree, every piece of wood is different. I love it 😀😀
Wow! Such a lot of work and thought went into this project! Looks great! Daisy looks great too! 😊🐕❤️
Thanks so much! 😊🐶❤️
What I love about your channel is that your projects are so unusual and very different. This one turned out gorgeous, as usual.
Thats very kind, thanks Sibylle 😃😃
Love the idea of the letters spelling out the property. This was a tricky restoration but you handled it beautifully. Love it.
Thank you so much!😃

I had fun putting those in 😂😂
Agree, the clips distract. I’d rather more Daisy if anything.
I liked the cartoon and movie clips. They were fun and did not detract from the wonderful job you did on the furniture.
They look brand new 😊. Awesome work as always and Daisy’s adorable too 🥰
Thank you! 🤗🐶❤️
Outstanding work ❣️❣️❣️
Tedious but stunning results 😊
Thanks so much 😊❤️
What a brilliant restoration! And the Snooker Hall will be complete now that the remaining items have been brought back to life. ❤
Thats very kind, thanks so much 😃😃❤️
A Billiards Stick holder, is my guess!
🤔
Yes, something from the snooker hall...
Actually I'm thinking he's right, you're showing both the base and the top right side up. But if you were to flip the top upside down you'd find some kind space or way to hold and protect the cue tip. You can tell exactly how many times I've been in a pool hall. Like never.

@MayfieldRestoratins🐾😊🐾🐕❤️
1000% better. Love the new colour too ❤
Thanks 😃
I was stationed at RAF Lake heath and that was back in the mid eighties. I can still remember a snooker champion by the name of Steve Davis.
Steve Davis was a family favourite of our family 😃😃👍
wow another historic treasure saved great job!!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it😀
Great restoration! That took a lot of patience and persistence! Well done David.
Thanks so much 😃😃
Absolutely brilliant...they will stand the test of time for many years to come...BTW did you weaken off camera and give Daisy some Pie...I know I would have done. ..lol

Aww Jodi, what a lovely comment. I really appreciate your support 😃🐶❤️
I haven’t played snooker in years. I was not good but I had fun. Great work. Happiness is Daisy with a cork.
Me neither, Snooker is harder than it looks. Daisy certainly is happy with lifes little pleasures 🤣🤣🐶👍
It looks awesome! I love the letter tiles spelling out the name.
Thanks so much 😀🐶❤️
Wow! That was some work on the two piece cue holder! Doth holders turned out wonderful! I am particularly fond of the round one though. Love Daisy - she is so cute begging for lunch…. Just like mine, they act like they never get anything to eat!’😂❤❤

Thats a great tip, thanks so much. Ive got a drawer full of double sided tape, why didn't i think of that 🤦♂️🤣👍❤️
Hi David, Excellent turnout!! Paying attention to detail even with the details changing. God bless and take care from your California subscriber 🙏 🙌
Thanks, you too!😀❤️
the jazzy music fits! great work!
Thanks so much 😃😃
Once again you have done a brilliant job and adding the name to the piece just adds to the finish
Thanks so much 😀

Hello. I love seeing Miss Daisy, mighty huntress, pouncing on her toy. This piece is very beautiful. I doubt i have the patience for all those fiddly bits.
Thank you so much 😊🐶❤️
Absolutely beautiful. But how will that upper one attach to the wall?
If you look at the final reveal shots you’ll see I added some brass fixing brackets to the side. I didn’t film it because I had to order them 😀👍
😂 how Daisy was looking at you eating was exactly how Pippin was looking at me the minute she heard your voice - because i didnt tell her what i was watching!
Beautiful restoration and lovely to see Daisy being Daisy, whilst Pippin was sat paying attention throughout 😊
Awwww, I love your Pippin. That’s really cute and just told my wife, she said the same ‘Awwwww, cute” 😀🐶🐶❤️❤️

Thanks so much and now you know what Snooker is 😃😃👍

😀👍👍
Beautiful restoration. You are a true master master craftsman.

I'd never heard of Snooker, thank you for telling us what it is. I'm glad to see the beautiful restoration. I'm sure your customer and his family will enjoy the holders for a long time.
Amazing job David, with the support of Daisy!
Thanks so much 😃🐶❤️
double sided tape, like what I use for sewing. you can get it in various widths. would hold down your metal holders while you screw them in. it's very thin so won't change the seating of them once they're done.
Why didn’t I think of that?? I’ve got loads of it! Thanks for the tip 😀😀👍
