To answer MA question at the start of the video, yes Malus starts at full possession at the start of his campaign and since full possession no longer has that lower casualty replishment rate thing from Warhammer 2 in base and SFO, its not that bad.
19:00 To answer your question, archers with shields in SFO have lower reload speed than their unshielded counterparts. This is most noticeable at low experience levels, but the gap closes a ton as the unit gains experience. Shielded and unshielded variants of units in SFO cost the same and have upsides and downsides rather than the shielded version being strictly superior, but more expensive.

I think the garrisons are beat up because of the way they're loading in, they don't 'spawn' at full health when you upgrade the settlement. As a result, freshly upgraded settlements will have beat up garrisons. This was a problem in the earlier games iirc, and it might just be back because of how SFO handles/adds garrison units? Because you get more garrison from generic military buildings sometimes as well.
Either way it feels like while SFO is still slower than base, it's also not as goddamn saturated with unnecessary faff as I remember, maybe the streamlined it
Maybe battering rams are usefull in SFO?
Older games as forward as shogun 2 (exceptions Napoleon and empire) are worth it

The normal darkshards probably reload faster, since the missile damage is calculated over 10 seconds, it look like a lot more.

Problem with skull cannons is by the time they're in position to shoot your army has completely murdered the enemy
