- This short video demonstrates my use of a few of my favorite Kutzall rotary burrs (files). They're carbide. They're U.S. made in Michigan. They make sculptors happy.

Salem your work is absolutely stunning and amazing thank you for sharing it with us.
Thank you!
Your work is amazing!!!! Just stumbled across your channel and love you videos! Hope you post more soon! - New Sub!!!🔥👍
Also, i think your channel would blow up if you approached it how little king goods (leather works type channel) did it. Peter McKinnon interviewed him and it was an amazing story. Just a thought!😄💪🤗
Great video!
Thank you for being so open about how and what. Sharing really is awesome and it's a way of teaching which I find much more rewardable than the "keep it to yourself" types. Each their own, though. Love your work and I hope to one day get some video up myself of some mini sculptures I'm currently working on with no power hand carving tools. I've been doing a lot of research on the electric power carvers for a while and SO happy you posted this because I was looking at Merlin ll and the Arbortech, but they both are out of reach atm. May I ask what model Milwaukee yours is? I'll hit Ebay up. Have an awesome day!
So sorry for the late reply!! I overlooked it! The die grinder is model 5194. I bought it in 2003. Still working great after a few changes of the brushes, trigger switch, and spindle bearing.
@@SalemBarker hey, thanks so much I appreciate it. I figured you were busy. No need to apologize. I really appreciate you being so willing to share. Have a wonderful day! Thanks again.
Yes, I clog them all the time on the smaller shaft ones.
Love your work. May I ask what speed control unit you use. Thanks.
This is the exact one I use, and it's been working great for over ten years. www.ebay.com/itm/Newest-For-Router-Fan-Variable-Speed-Controller-Electric-Motor-Rheostat-AC-120V/273382438951?epid=7031132593&hash=item3fa6dcf827:g:FM8AAOSwfk9bYSLR
@@SalemBarker harbor freight sells them to.
Can you go from extreme grit to fine if you have a soft touch or do you have to use a course burr in the middle? Have you ever tried to hollow out a shape and if so which shape of burr would you recommend for roughing out? Thanks!
Yes, you can definitely go from Extreme to Fine burr.
Hollowing is best with the spherical burrs, and the Extreme 1/4" is really good for this.
@@SalemBarker HOT DANG I just got one of those delivered, thanks a ton for your responses. Your work is incredible and inspiring. Any other bit you find yourself going to more often than others?
I think the most often used burr is the 1/4" Flame Burr. Both the medium and fine one. I have 2 of each and when one clogs with wood resin I put it in a lidded jar with the liquid gum & pitch remover from Orange Tools. It will unclog as I use the other one.
@@SalemBarker I can't thank you enough, I really appreciate sharing things youve learned. On the shoulders of giants stuff ya know
