    I got my Christmas gift early - a beautiful 8" telescope. I really like your channel. You get to the point, no fluff and information that is very understandable as a beginner. I'm very impressed with the editing of this video, again very beginner friendly. Thank you.

    I like this list. I am going to try to get my first images of the Triangulum Galaxy tonight as its going to be a clear dark night in New England.

      I just finished with my first attempt at the Pinwheel Galaxy (M101), so that's next on my "To Do" list too ! Good luck with your imaging session.

    Great list! I imaged the Heart Nebula last night with an L-Extreme filter and I am going to try M31 tonight, without the filter. Love the fall! Dr B from Manitoba, Canada 🇨🇦

    Last night I set out to get another Andromeda image. I captured about 90 minutes of data. While my astro rig was doing its thing I was using my 8 inch dobsonian to check out saturn,Jupiter and Mars. This was one of those rare nights where the atmosphere was very calm. Even with 8mm eyepiece and a 2 times barlow the planets were exceptionally clear. It was a great night to sit alone out in a field and enjoy the peaceful night.

      It sounds like you hit the jackpot with your night! I was doing something similar tonight, Imaging Andromeda and catching some peaks at Jupiter through a pair of binoculars! Keep up the great imaging and observing and please share your final image with me over on instagram!

    Great video! I’ve been doing Astrophotography for a while but still need to brush up on what’s up there this time of year. I completely forgot about elephant trunk so thanks to you I’m now on exposure 3 of 60 @300 seconds. 😝

    Amazing video this is super helpful and I hope you continue to do this for every season! I'm headed up to the 100 mile wilderness tomorrow to a class 1 dark sky site and this was VERY helpful! On a side note, is it possible I can order some of your photographs on a good paper to frame?

      That sounds wonderful! I am very jealous of the sky you are about to be under! I actually already have a video like this out for Winter, Spring and Summer. Feel free to check them out and I'll let you know if I ever end up selling prints of my images! Take care and clear skies!

    Thanks for the tour Michael - nice list of things for me to go after. So my question for you is: how long are you getting your exposures with the use of your star tracker?
    I just started to use one and I wondered what others can expect. Thanks.

    • @LateNightAstronomy
      @LateNightAstronomy  2 роки тому +1

      Good question! I've got some tutorials on the steps I use over in my astrophotography playlist but for most objects with my equipment I am doing 15 to 90 second exposure depending on the object and whether I am using a light pollution filter or not.

    It's not a deep sky object, but I did finally see Uranus a week ago when it was in conjunction with the moon.

      Excellent observation. I was able to see Mars close to the Moon earlier this week! The planets are out in full force right now!

      Those are wonderful targets but I consider them to be winter targets. I've already covered them in the best objects of the winter night sky!
