    appreciated the video althoughI wish you filmed the parts where you physically installed the control arm. I get not being able to do it while holding the phone but it would have been nice to see it being installed in real time

    Hey man, really enjoy your videos they are super helpful. Had a question for you - I am looking at picking up RC loaded struts for my Rebel to level it, but cannot figure out if I need the 2" or 3.5" version. Because I would be taking out the stock spring and replacing with RC's - wouldn't I want the 3.5" version to net 2.5" of front lift? Many Rebel reviews for the 2" loaded strut version state those actually levelled their Rebels just fine, super confusing!

      @WaterFowler41  Рік тому

      Yes, when you remove the factory spring you’re losing an inch so you’ll need the 3.5”. Safest way is to check with RC though, when you select the struts for your truck. They may already take that 1” loss into account when showing your compatible struts.

    Another great installation video! My 21 Rebel is stock, but after seeing one of your first UCA replacement videos, I have always wondered about the amount of plastic in them. Can I get CORE 4x4 UCA's for a stock Rebel? Thanks!

      You could but I wouldn’t worry about it unless you plan on lifting

      @WaterFowler41  Рік тому

      Yup, it’s really only in lifting where new UCAs are beneficial

    Hey man thanks for your content, I love it. I have a 2021 Rebel and ran 5100’s at max height with stock upper control arm for 45k miles and it has been great. I recently installed the 6112’s at max height along with core 4x4 upper arms (same as your set up) I also changed out wheel tire combo and went from a -12 offset wheel to a set of Icon Alloy 0 offset wheel combo. I am in love with my new set up, however at full steering lock my tire now rubs the control arms because these core 4x4 arms are soooo “squared” by design. I don’t like tire poke and do not want the run spacers or invest in another set of wheels so unfortunately I’m at a loss with these arms. I’m taking truck in for alignment tomorrow. Question, after you installed your arms did you have problem with positive camber? These arm joints are not threaded out at all, in fact they are threaded in as far as possible and I’m hoping alignment shop can correct. Thanks.

      Reach out to Core4x4, sounds like they are aware of some set ups causing this issue and are developing a solution for the tire rub.
      I did not have an issue with too much camber, alignment shop was able to get everything back into spec.

    Any ride quality difference over the factory style as compared to the rod ends? Also how are the Bilstein holding up to salt exposure?

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  3 дні тому

      No ride quality issues, the UCA were great. Bils held up very well. They looked great up to when I sold the truck.

    Great video. When you torqued your uca did you torque them with the wheel off up in the air? Or flat on the ground? I just did a similar build with my 2020 1500 and I'm getting some guys on the forums say torque them flat on the ground and some say if you have a lean you may have to preload your upper A arm either left or right depending.. Do you have any knowledge on this?

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  Рік тому

      All of the videos I watched from the big brands showing how to install their UCAs show them torqueing when the wheels are off. Its a super tight fit once I reinstall my wheel. I suppose you can torque in the air, drive for a few hundred miles then retorque with he truck on the ground but I really feel like your splitting hairs at that point.

    Mine made the same noise and it ended up being my lower driver side ball joint

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  Рік тому

      On my last truck, that ended up being my issue, the second I looked at my UCAs and put my hand on the joint and felt the vibration.

    Do you have a part number or link to buy those arms? I cannot find them on Core 4x4’s website.

      They are on the second page of the control arm options under the Ram 1500

    Probably a silly question.
    Can you install with the wheel still attached. I already have lifted and have plenty of to work. But if wheel has to come off thats fine.

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  2 місяці тому

      It would be a huge pain in the ass to work around your wheel especially because you need to get a hammer on the upper knuckle.

    Just put these on my rebel with 6112 bilsteins and my tires hit the control arms. Stock tires and stock rims. I'm beyond pissed. I'll be contacting them tomorrow.

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  Рік тому

      That’s the 6112’s causing the issue, what setting are you running them at? If the cores are hitting more than likely your factory UCAs would hit. This is why most leveling and lift kits recommended running a lower or negative offset to move the wheel away from the UCAs.
      Rough country makes 1/4” spacers and bore makes 1/2” spacer that should help.

    • @edwright5008
      @edwright5008 Рік тому

      @@WaterFowler41 They're set at clip 7. Put the factory back on temporarily and they don't hit. If you hold the factory next to the core you can clearly see the difference in the dimensions. a coworker has the same truck with a level and running zone UCA's and has 1/2" more clearance. just sent pics to core. Thanks for the advice.

      I was going to ask this very question on the set up. I’m considering the 6112’s at the top ring up front with 5160’s in the rear with a dual rate 1.5” lift coil and airlift 1000hd airbags, (which tow a 7500 lb travel trailer). I’m running stock rims and tires so I was curious about them fitting with and without new UCA’s.
      Keep us posted on the outcome.

      I'd check your tie roads and sway bar end links. Sway bar links on these trucks tend to fail prematurely.

    So do they come with ball joints or do you have to purchase them separately

    What happen to the RC uppers you had installed?

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  10 місяців тому

      Swapped them out when I installed the Fabtech lift kit which came with new UCAs. The uniballs in those UCAs failed so I replaced the whole UCA with Core4x4's.
      The Rough Country UCAs were re-homed a few months ago. Great budget UCA.

      Nope, they were great. Ran them before the Fabtech arms.
