    Nice video! I have a 10 acre property, and I use a Cub Cadet XT1 lawn tractor for my grass area. However, I have a small gated pool area I can't fit my driving lawn tractor in. Therefore, I purchased the Ryobi lawn mower in this depicted video. I think the mower works like a charm. I like the light weight and easy storage too. Love the self propelled adjustable speed. And The Home Depot had it marked down $50 bucks.

    My son just got this for me on father's day lol as my Toro gas one carburetor went and I got it used. He has a zero turn one Ryobi that he loves. I noticed that I hear a squeak noise when I run it but I didn't notice that in your video. I used it with the mulch plug and the side discharge and my yard looks awesome. I have .44 acre but probably a third of grass.

    I got tired of pushing my Greenworks electric mower -getting too old.so Home Depot had the exact model self propelled mower you are showing here, and I was so glad to see a slow demonstration that I could listen to clearly and watch. I have the battery charging as I type this. I had a self propelled gas mower on the past but could not handle hurting my shoulder trying to get the mower to start. One thing I have a little difficulty with self propelled is my difficulty cutting the grass by borders (like the brick/stone kind) and circling around trees with self propelled because my natural tendency is to pull it backwards and forwards and to get into the cracks (Around large tree roots for example) so to speak. Not everything is straight lines, so I was hoping to see you cut around the large tree near the end of the video and along the stone garden border -particularly rounded ones. I have not used self propelled in so long, I believe there is no reverse so is the blade still spinning when they yellow (?) levers Are pressed? Can the lawnmower be pulled backwards and I wanted to say the young man go around a curve and so I could see how he transitioned from row to row.

    • @OuzoLouGarage
      @OuzoLouGarage  2 роки тому

      When cutting the lawn by trees i usually go straight into the tree then turn right or left . We don't going around the tree like a circle. When cutting by the brick border cut about 2in in front of brick. And we use a cordless weed Wacker around the trees and borders. Hope this helps

      @@OuzoLouGarage Thanks for reading and replying. We had rain and then tornado warnings around here so haven’t used the new lawn yet but should be interesting . A lot of times I would walk -like walking through a maze. Start on the outside and work my way around to the inside partly just to get a little variety . That’s why I wondered about circles particularly since somebody put black mulch In a large circle on the big tree in the front yard in front of the house. I finally got better with the weedeater but it’s just another tool to get out and fool with. You can probably tell I like being indoors more and just look at cutting grass as a form of exercise but I get too much for me being in my 60s now. Thanks for responding with tips

    My boyfriend just bought me one because it's almost Foxtail season and I can't cut them with my reel mower. Thanks for the review. This is the last cutting I can mulch. With Foxtails so heavy I'll hve to bag for the rest of the season. My boyfriend bought me the chainsaw, too. I love mine. Had a rotted mailbox post and an unused fence post sticking out of the grounnd, so I chopped it down to use for the mailbox. Super easy. Mine is only 7 inch I think.

    Sorry for dumb questions, but I bought another brand and had to return it. I'm 71, does the self propelled go slow enough for a guy that can't walk too fast? The one I got (Greenworks) was so fast on the slowest speed that I couldn't handle it.
    The other question, when I have to go to a tree or bush and release the self propelled part, it took 15 seconds for it to release so I can pull it backwards. It doesn't sound that long, but it felt like an eternity lol. I can understand 3 or 4 seconds for a clutch or something to release, but 15 seconds is painful ha ha. I called and they just said it was designed that way. This unit is at my Home Depot, but they won't let me try it with the battery in it. Thanks for a real nice video 👍👍👍👍

    I see my short commentary but not the long so to summarize I was hoping to see the young man using the mower around the big tree And long stone borders because not everything are straight lines, And it has been a long time and since I used a self propelled I was hoping to see you mention whether or not you can reverse and pull back on the more for tight areas. I will I’m not sure if you can move it back-and-forth with the blade spinning or if it only spins when you pull on the yellow things on the handle. I just got the more tonight so will learn more tomorrow but it has been a long time since I used a gas self propelled to Remember how to maneuver it in tight spaces like around tree roots. I was hoping to see that in your demonstration. This replaces my electric push mower which was getting hard for my aging self. I did not like the gas and my shoulder was hurting from pulling the cord even on me self-propelled gas mower that I had years ago

    Electric are more expensive than gas mowers...I got one and the battery went bad so that means I got to spend at least from $179 to $250 to get another battery...almost 75 percent of the cost of a gas mower and with the cost of gas wich is 3.50 at the most per gallon you can mow a lot with a full tank of gas wich is not much...not to mention the cost of the electric mower that cost me over $400...;think about it...its a lot of difference...gas is cheaper to mow than electric in the short and long run...

    I’ve been researching and thinking about this self-propelled mower vs the same 20in Ryobi but the push mower version and two things come to mind:
    Does the push mower last longer on a single charge since the battery is not having to supply power to the self-propelling function?
    And because the mower is so light compared to a gas mower, would the push mower be a big deal?
    My property is 0.4 acres and I’ll probably get an additional 40V battery with the weedwhacker anyways

    • @OuzoLouGarage
      @OuzoLouGarage  2 роки тому

      I would think the push mower battery would last longer. With the push mower being light I think it may be a good choice for you with how much lawn you have to cut. When you go to Home Depot ask to see if you can push the floor model.

    The cameraman's comments are unnecessary / distracting and he sometimes overlaps (steps on) the presenter's words. There should be only one (1) presenter.

      @@OuzoLouGarage appreciated the additional comments in the video, especially when the dad asked his son to show rather than explain how the mower folds up without the bag in addition to the levers being pressed down. Both did a great job, but details matter.
