The last known Velaryon male was Monterreys Velaryon (after the Game of Thrones). Yeah, they had lost Driftmark, they had lost some money, and they had lost their High position in the Royal Court. They had served as Master of Ships for many generations. Lord Corlys had been the Lord of the Tides. The Velaryons stayed always near the water and maritime traditions. As Baela told her grandsire, Lord Corlys, "You are salt and smoke ". After the House of the Dragon, Alyn (of Hull nee) Valaryon married the grand daughter of Lord Corlys, Baela. It is through their line the continued generations of Velaryons family members continued and survived.

I think the House Velaryon should have definitely been involved and been on the side of the Blacks and Rhanynera". Why? She was the true king and one must take a stand. It's always honor that gets people killed wouldn't you agree? just look at the Ned Starks beheaded for all the seven kingdoms to see. For the greater good we should all copy Tywin Lannister he doesn't care about honor just the survival of his family name.

@@thronetalk1 I totally agree with you. I was soooo hurt when Eddard "Ned" Stark was beheaded. He was a man of honor. He was a man of truth. He was a man who you can count on. The North still remembers!!!
@@thronetalk1 Yes, you can share with others. I feel honored. Be blessed. Just to share with you, I am an adult Barbie and Ken doll collector. I am 70. I decided to make some of the characters from "House of the Dragon". I made Lord Corlyss Velaryon with an AA buff Ken. To make his white dread locks I took a human wig of white dreads and glued them in his hair. I made his outfit to look like when he is in his castle. I got his hippocampus seahorse on his shirt. He looks good!!! To make his wife, Princess Rhaneys, I used a Barbie with platinum blonde long hair. To get her outfit, I ordered one of Mattel's Medieval dresses for her in blue. (Blue for the sea.) For Daemon Targareyen I used a Mattel blonde warrior dressed in Medieval clothes, and he is holding a bow. (I am looking for a dark sword to be his "Dark Sister".) For Queen Rhanerya Targareyen I used a Mattel Barbie with long platinum hair and dressed her in a white Medieval dress with a red cloak that has dragons on it. I ordered her father's crown from an Etsy shop. She looks like a queen!!! (Trying to find AA people with platinum hair was really hard, so I found an Etsy shop that does what you want, but they charge you.) So, I had created by the Etsy shop a Velaryon AA female with platinum hair. She was created from a Mattel "Simone" Barbie Looks doll. I had her dressed in red. She is absolutely beautiful! And she is the last "living" descendant of Lord Corlys Velaryon. I call her Rhaneys Simone Velaryon. I kept with their tradition of naming after those who had come before them. According to my calculations Lord Corlyss and Princess Rhaneys are her 36th grandparents. I even built a small Driftmark. All paintings in my Driftmak Castle are from the internet of B/W photos from the show to look like "authentic paintings of her ancestors". All the furniture in it is made of wood because I wanted it to look like furniture from Medieval days. I put lots of sigils in it of the Velaryons and Targareyen as the two families are cousins. I also put some dragon eggs in it, because as Baela Targareyen said, " Rhaneys flew to Rooks Rest of her own will, in defense of her kin. I have the blood of my grandmother. I want to live as she lived. I want to die as she died and she died as she would have wished to die. With honor. In dragon fire. The way I myself wish to meet my end. I carry this grandmother with me. I am blood and fire." For this reason, my Rhaneys is a scientist who has successfully grew small dragons!!! " I will continue working on a couple of Velaryon AA men with the white hair to further my HOTD world.

I swear velaryon, is pronounced differently by each character that has ever uttered that word.
According to George RR Martin he does care about how you pronounce his character names and does offer any guide like Lord of the rings
at 04:30 , its the sigil of house blackfyre on the right. Targaryen sigil is red dragons in the field of black.

he can't really stay neutral. They are really one family. He is married to a Targaryen, his daughter was married to a Targaryen, his children are cousins and his grand children and cousins to the Targaryens. And they are most closely related to Rhenerya.
