Saw your van around the todos area and then again passing thru Pescadero today as we were out and about. Thanks for sharing a video on your build, lots of great insight and thoughtful design. Great restaurants in Pescadero. I know you like to cook in the van, but don’t miss out on some good eats. This is rv camper dream zone, free camping, great weather, friendly people everywhere. Enjoy
Hey Stanley, thanks for the nice comment. We’re currently in Todos Santos, where we stopped at the hostel to take a shower. If you see us on the road again, stop us or come over to say hello and love to meet you. Thanks again for watching.
Ha! We have abandoned that toilet because, while functional, we are trying to cut down on weight and it was heavy. We are back to the Home Depot bucket toilet which weighs about 1/4 as much. Not as pretty, but lighter.
I have a Yeti Bucket with all the accessories and a removable toilet seat. Nice things about it is the tray insert that holds supplies and has a nice lid that closes tight.
We are really looking forward to the detailed videos of the build. My wife and I have been fulltiming since 2001 in 10 different rigs. Our favorite was our Roadtrek 170, the same length as the 136 Promaster. We just sold the 6x12 cargo trailer we converted last year and are currently looking for a used 136 to convert. I think yours is my favorite design of all the ones I have seen on UA-cam. Again, I can wait for the other videos.
Hey there thanks for watching and for the nice comments. We are currently spending most of our winter down here in Baja and it may take me a few months to get some more videos of the van build up. In the meantime, if you have any questions just make a comment and I’ll answer them for you the best I can. best of luck on your build and hopefully I’ll have some more videos for you soon.
@@CubbyVanLife I am interested in the plumbing and electrical system equally. I will likely be getting the 136 and I love all the storage you've incorporated
When I do my build, I want the kitchen in the back with the sink above a shower pan that goes all the way across the floor from side to side so if there is a leak, the water drains to the gray tank. Your build is great though. I'm impressed with the cabinetry.
He definitely could not stand or sleep in this van. At 6’4” I don’t think he could stand in any van could he? I’m 5’8” the van is 6’ wide and 6’ high with the insulation and interior finishes.
Excellent video. I would love to travel in a Promaster but do not have the skills to build out. Do you think it’s better for me to buy something like the Winnebago pocket? It’s on a Promaster platform and I’ve never done rving before but I would love to try. Or buy a Van and have a company build out? Any feedback appreciated..
@@CubbyVanLife Thx for feedback. Yes the price of the new ones are insane. I always buy my cars 2-3 yrs old so I don’t have a problem with someone else taking the depreciation.😆

Hi, my name is Ariessoultraveller.. I’m also converted my 2014 pro master into a camper. I like to know where did you purchase the black fishnet holder that’s over top of your driver seat?
You mentioned fishing often. Do you have to get a fishing license for each state, or is there some sort of national or regional registration that cover’s multiple states?
This is probably one of the most thoughtful builds on UA-cam. Well done, dude! More clever storage space in this shortie than in most of the longer vans that I've seen. My only concern would be the weight of it all, as you've used thick plywood throughout. Foam and aluminium framing would be a lighter alternative, but would push the price up tremendously. My only negative comment would be the location of the bogg, but that can be easily fixed, I guess. One thing I'd do differently is having a small home fridge-freezer (88cm tall) built into that door-side cabinet; and having some sort of mini-sofa/sitting area instead of that locker-fridge. I'm interested to know what you did in terms of "climate-control"... insulation, heating, air conditioning etc. But overall, I'm very impressed by the practicality and thought of this build! Greetings from across the pond.
Sorry for the late reply. Thanks so much for the comments. You’re correct about the weight, the plywood makes it heavy but that was all that was available to me in the time I had to build it and I didn’t know about foam core plywood until I read your comment. Now I do and I’ll use it in my next build wven though it’s 4x as expensive as what I used, and difficult to get. I’m not sure what a bogg is. Can you explain? We love, love our ICECO cooler. A vertical fridge looses coolness much more quickly than a chest one as the cold begins rolling out as soon as you open the door. The ICECO is perfect seating height as well. To each his own though, both options have benefits I guess. We have no AC, never needed it. Ever. Our insulation is 1/2” XPS foam with 1” airspace between it and the plywood walls. Same on the the floor and ceiling. The windows are double insulated poly carbon and we have a Propex 2500 propane heater. It’s very warm.

A very well done and clever build. I look forward to the future videos detailing the build. The Promaster 1500 appeals to me as a solo traveler, but they don’t seem nearly as popular as the bigger models. What influenced your decision to go with the 1500?
Thanks for the comment. We like as small as possible and this is the samellest highto cargo van. Easy to park, easy to drive. I aslo figured since it has the same engine as the larger models it would get better mileage. We get between 16-18mpg. More than enough room for two of us and a big dog. We traveled for 13 years in a T@B pulled by a subaru forester so this is a big upgrade.

My husband is not camping as much now so I'd like to get a 1500 and do exactly what you have done with this van. I don't have the build skills you have but am hoping to find someone in the Houston area to do this. Are you still traveling in your van? I see the last video was about a year ago. Very inspiring! Oh yeah the trunk lining is awesome insulation. The doors are never cold or hot. Yes 136” WB. Cubby was the nickname of our first dog a yellow lab who traveled tens of thousands of miles with us.
Don’t you have a switch for the water pump when leaving the car? If there could be a leak in the system it is much better to have a switch and only turn on the pump when you are in to use.
