I rolled down my window and said love your show. he said "I love your car, it's one of the best looking cars out on the road" really made my day to get a compliment like that from Jay.

The sweet spot in the Giulia lineup is the Ti Sport. I've had mine for 30K miles and the sport seats, cold aluminum paddles, LSD and adaptive suspension are all magical. It's been very reliable despite being driven in anger and still looks new inside and out. 100 percent buying out my lease. Will be a very good value on the used market.

@@davideroncari6267 It lacks the feel of a great full manual system, but only takes a day or two to get used to smooth operation in traffic. The brakes themselves are plenty powerful and always deliver as asked so hard to complain too bad when the rest of the car is as sweet. Mopar extended warranties for the Giulia are very reasonably priced, which is the way I will be going. Doing your own maint will also save a lot of money.

I adds a two year lease with the same TI with all options including the adaptive cruise control. Miles better than the BMW Mercedes or Audi. Only issue is the dealership experience and getting it serviced at Dodge keep dealerships, it needs to be serviced at Maserati dealerships or else it will never win. It feels like it’s just one interior upgrade away from being the best of all. Unfortunately it probably will die due to poor sales

'23 Giulia Estrema here. LSD, carbon trim and adaptive suspension in Alfa Rosso. I cross shopped with the M340i, S4 and C43. Still went with the 4 cylinder. I took my car in for regular maintenance yesterday and booked some test drives with neighouring BMW, Lexus and Audi dealers, as my lease will be up next year. Test drove an M440i (no M340i available), Audi S5 and RCF coupe just to see what the V8 was like.
The M440i felt very fast, much faster than the Alfa. But I didn't feel like I was really interacting or engaged with the car at the same level. The RCF was just hilarious, big and heavy, but the V8 sounded amazing. The Audi had the best interior, and was also fast but driving was meh.
So in the end I drove a few hours back home, on a beautiful country road and am still very happy with my choice. The Alfa mechanic said it best, "It's like that perfect pair of jeans that just fits right."

I have driven all three cars - not for hours but for several days. I have a manual E90 330i (sport package). I had to pass up on the F30 340i, G20 330i/M340i due to lack luster handling. The G70 Genesis drives more like at GT car than a sports sedan(too much body roll in the corners). The Alfa Romeo Giulia is the reincarnation of the E90 and is my next car.

I think the results of this test shows Todd and Paul's individual preferences. I found the G20 330i capable but it is completely true what Todd said about it doing its own thing and not involving you. You can turn it in and it hangs in very well but you don't feel anything from the steering or the chassis much. I haven't driven the other two but the BMW left me cold, it also sounds very synthesized now

    • @1970borntorun
      @1970borntorun 3 роки тому +22

Please !! BMW hasn't made a "special" 3 Series since the E90 era! From the F30 era forward, Bimmer has completely ruined the steering/road feel by moving to an Electric Rack ( much like Infinity did with the Q50 ) and the Chassis dynamics are not buttoned down like like the E90, or better yet, the E46. And not to nitpick, but the interior bits are plasticky and like something you'd find on a KIA Forte. And this is coming from a (former) BMW enthusiast. BMW obviously cares more about Marketing and making $ than the Driving experience.

I got the blue G70 and love it. Yes, it felt like a bit of a gamble going with the new kid on the block, especially from a resale value perspective. But I'm confident that issue will dissipate over the next few years as the brand gains awareness, and I see Genesis doing the right things in that regard (e.g., sponsoring fancy golf tournaments). They won me over with head-turning design & performance, a really long warranty and service offer and 0.9% financing. The only other trade-off I'd mention is the dealership experience. Instead of having dedicated showrooms, like most luxury brands, Genesis cars are sold at Hyundai dealerships, at least in my area. Where I bought mine, they set up a Genesis "desk" in the corner of the regular Hyundai showroom. So the Genesis shopping experience felt rather shoestring compared to the white-glove bubbles of its rivals. Here too, I think that things will improve quickly. It seems clear now that the brand has gotten off the ground in the US market, so I expect dealers will quickly invest in separate brick and mortar and the viruous cycle can continue.

Here, in Cherry Hill, NJ, Our local dealer is setting up their own showroom. But, ther true dealer experience for me, was getting the car at a good price and then discovering that all the desired packages were baked in to that price. No surprises. And the concierge experience is amazing. Add that to the warranty, price and a fantastic car in the G70, it's no wonder I am in my second: Just got a great trade for my 2019 G70 because of the low (pandemic) miles and got a 2022 G70 premium sport with all the bells and whistles for only $50 more per month. Looking at the 330i in here, I suspect it has the Sports Package for one. It used to be that that extending part on the front of the bottom seat cushion was the giveaway clue for sport seats. Add in some luxury packs or conveience packs and it starts to climb. I think you even pay more for colors other than a few basic non-metallic. Not trying to be critical of the brand. No dipstic and the sensor can be unreliable. This engine burns oil. Not much but you have to top it up here and there.
Engine is thirsty. May not be an issue in USA but here in Europe prices are mental.

@@375Cheytac it better, considering the Alfa is using tech from 2015(when it was released), while the Genesis is a brand new generational platform released in 2021. Putting gadgets aside, the alfa destroys the genesis in every other category that matters to people that care about the driving dynamics of a proper sports saloon. Hyundai has no clue on how to compete in this segment and they really don't need to since more people are gravitating towards convenience in this area. Kia's best sports platform used on the The stinger and this car are a joke compared to the Giorgio platform. Most people today desire a luxury car with sporty performance sprinkled on top, hence why the BMW's are popular.

Do you think Hyundai just picked up the rear wheel drive architecture from some kind of an automotive mega store? lol Hyundai is not a struggling company like Fiat and has one of the biggest muscles in develeloping new cars with the legendary designers and engineers from all over the world. It's funny how you talk about lagging behind in techology is something to brag about for Giulia rofl. FYI, the G70 was first introduced in 2016 but made many improvements over its lifespan as well as a refresh to stay current and relevant. What about Alfa? Being lazy is not a very good virtue anymore. To sum it up, G70 is one of the most dynamic sports sedan in the world, bar none, featuring ultra high strength steel for strength and light-weight. There is a reason why it has won the car of the year and accolades all over the planet. Drive one, and then talk.

@@mapletree4283 It's as if instead of actually understanding what I previously typed you choose instead t have taken things personally and that has clouded your judgment. Also you know next to nothing about the modern automotive industry. Oh and I have driven stinger's and the G80 and 2019 G70. The real question is have you driven a proper modern sport's saloon(trick question because very few that a true saloon exist today and instead we get G70's, Pseudo BMW's that have strayed so far away from their original mission statement, etc..). See I ask this because based on your comments it's rather evident you lack experience. Besides you don't even want a true Saloon. You want Luxury with above average sport(nothing wrong with that). The problem here is you and I belong to two different demographic's. I own the 85K Quadrifoglio and Kia has nothing that can even remotely touch such an advanced platform and yet you call ALFA lazy. In fact the Giorgio platform is considered by many enthusiast's and journalists in the industry to be one of the best platform's ever made in the past 10 years under 100K. The Giulia TI is a severely cut down version of the Quadrifoglio in order to make it affordable and does not represent it's true capabilities and even then it's still the absolute best in class for driving dynamics and even KIA's most advanced platform that isn't even a year old still falls short of FIAT's 6 year platform.
You understand FIAT since the 60's has owned and operated Ferrari. That this Platform and Car was designed by Ferrari's top engineers. The Giorgio Platform cost a Whooping $4 billion to develop and they did all this in 2.5 years. Platform as advanced as this usually take 4-5 years such as BMW, Audi and Merc. That is a monumental achievement but then again it did cost $4 billion and they had take away for 2 years some of the most talented engineers at Ferrari for this. Yet you claim FIAT lags behind KIA who can't even touch a 6 year old platform. Even BMW publicly congratulated ALFA for there Gorgio platform and said they will easily get 10 years before even considering designing a new one. That was how impressed BMW was when the Giulia was unveiled.
We won't even get into engines since we all know KIA is outclassed easily. You call Alfa lazy and yet they have one of the best V6 biTurbo engines ever made. It outclasses AMG's engine(was even 5 years ahead) and it better since it's a Ferrari 154 derived engine(meaning the base foundation so it's design was built on the 154 architecture) with an additional $200,000,000 in development to further refine the engine for it's design goal. Oh and why is it that large majority of Stinger owners have debadge their vehicle. They're ashamed of the brand name. Now this may be shocking to you but I love KIA/Hyundai as a brand. I just take issue when you think that they are ahead when it comes to building a proper sport's saloon. The German's and Italians dominate that segment and if FIAT didn't have ownership/Control(public now) than the Italians wouldn't have a top tier sports saloon. If my budget was $50k tops I would go with KIA over all the German brands and ALFA. The TI is a great vehicle but it's not the original design and intention of what the engineers built which is the Quadrifoglio. The KIA IMHO is the better buy for the average consumer since they favor interior comfort and modern gadget over performance. However when one has more money to play with KIA is no longer an option for me

I got a Giulia Sprint 2021MY. it is supposed to be the "base", but with a couple of nice options is absolutely a blast. I traded my Stinger GT2 for the Giulia !! Stinger 365hp was unable to do what this 280hp Giulia can do. Although it was AWD and had all the electronic, I never felt "safe" driving close to the limit. Stinger platform is not Alfa Romeo Giorgio. Genesis is the same story.
Yes, I do not have shift pads BUT I feel a great retro feeling when I manually shift with the shift "stick". I drove sticks all my life, so for me moving my hand to the stick to operate comes normal. Pads are beautiful, are not game changers. IMPORTANT: the gearbox in the Giulia is a TRUE manual - you shift and you hit the limiter. Can't talk for the BMW, but the gearbox in the Genesis is like the Stinger, it will upshift or downshift for you or negate you to do so, it's a "fake" manual mode.
Bottom line? once you drive a Giulia, you will never go back... and.. then you will trade your Giulia in the future for a used .... QUADRIFOGLIO :)

I own a Genesis G70 2020 3.3 twin turbo. I love it. For the $ you will have a hard time beating the value. It’s fully loaded. The 2 things that would take this car over the top would be upping the HP to more like 450. Then the exhaust note need more of a burble and could use dynamic baffles so you could open and close them when you want. Thanks!

Got my G70 3 months ago after comparing these 3 (and a few others), no regrets. 3.3L twin-turbo, AWD w/ rear limited-slip. Feels a little heavy (all-season tires don't help) but more grip than expected, tons of power and just a great cruiser. Beautiful white interior that feels much more special than the others. And buttons! Plus got it for much cheaper than the other options and reliability has shown these to be above average. Plus maintenance costs are closer to Kia than BMW, so even better! So sad it's not selling well...

Maybe I just have a weirdly shaped ass, but I never understood why people thought BMW had "the best seats in class." I always thought they were super stiff and uncomfortable, being only marginally better than the TLX's.
Regardless, for me it's the Giulia Ti Sport, no contest. Superbly comfortable seats coupled with the best handling car I've driven this side of Porsche.

Bought a Giulia Veloce as a daily for my wife a year ago. We were looking for something that was readily available, no wait, etc., at a modest price, to replace her m235i. Took it around the city and for long drives and quite enjoyed it. Ended up ordering another Giulia Veloce for myself, the purpose being a daily I’d enjoy driving, ticked all the boxes when ordering. Barely touched my BMW M2C for weeks on end since having the Alfa, and then only to make sure the BMW wouldn’t rust sitting there. Sold M2C and kept the Alfa for being an excellent daily. Love it. No, it’s not as fast. But fast enough. Yes, the service is sketchy. Yes, extras and parts may be a PIA to get. Still beats those 2 BMWs as a daily in enjoyment department. Basically, sold 2 very driver-focused BMWs, very good ones in their own right, and got 2 Alfas because I liked them more.

If they brought the Giulia Ti Sport with the upgraded seats, paddle shifters, Q2 pack it would be #1 for both. Sucks they got a base press car instead. The only thing the BMW does better than the Alfa based on my test drives was it had better tech inside and it seemed to me for my driving position that it had better backseat room. I ended up getting the Alfa for most of the reasons they laid out. The driving experience is just better and you can tell immediately.

It makes the same power as the Genesis and makes it much more enjoyable to drive. You can get the paddles for $200 and install it yourself. I have a bit of insight on this one since I have a 2020 330i and my wife has a 2021 G70 AWD 3.3T Sport. They're both great cars, make no mistake. The comment about the BMW riding worse than the G70 is because the 330i in the video has the M-Sport package which stiffens the suspension significantly. My wife's G70 is the Sport trim like the one in this video which has the upgraded suspension and lower profile tires and it rides much more firm and stiff than my 330i that does not have the M-Sport package. Without the M-Sport package the 330i is quite luxurious and is the better daily driver of the two. For kick you in the pants speed and handling we take out the G70. For runs to dinner and the pet store we take the 330i. Honestly, you can't go wrong with either.

  • @TeeWadeG

The Alfa is for sure the best driving one here. I was on at a Hyundai dealership when Genesis started to break away. I helped run the first Genesis store in my state so I saw the G70 coming.
But a BMW spec’d like the one here is the only one of the three that really blew my expectations out of the water. I have never been a 4-cyl BMW type of guys.
But what BMW achieved with the amount of interior space available in the G20 is nothing short of amazing. The trunk is massive.
The MPG I achieved just blew the EPA out of the water and this engine is no different than many of BMWs as it is underrated.
    Then the hands free driving.
Sadly I can’t find one specd like the one in the video in the used market right now.
