The Kia Stinger is such an underrated and overlooked car and mainly because of badge snobs. I fell in love with the Stinger at first sight, spent 2 months researching and comparing, test driving and now I can say I'm a fulfilled man. I love my Kia Stinger GT Limited.
me too, i got RED, i see your in Canada. Its a steal in Canada. MSRP is the same in US as in Canada. So its like 20-25k cheaper than S5 sportback or 4 series Grand Coupe
I was supposed to sign the papers on a 2020 Stinger GT2 on Thursday. Got to the dealership and they were closing because someone who had been in that day called to tell them they'd tested positive for Covid-19. They let me take it home as a loaner with the intention of finishing the deal today. But they didn't open back up today, so the plan is to do it on Monday now. I'm in the weird limbo of driving around in my new car, but it's not actually mine yet. I absolutely love it. It's Ceramic Silver with the red leather interior.
I have the 2019 GT2 AWD in Ceramic Silver w Red Interior. If you aren't aware, you can get the stingers for like $10k off sticker with proper negotiation and lease cash (you can buy out the lease within the first month). I highly recommend going this route if you are in a state that has friendly lease buyout tax laws. I paid $44k (including tax) for my GT2 in January 2019. Apparently the lease cash offers are even better now. Just do a search on youtube.
Yeah, a lot of reviewers become performance snobs. Unless a car is a high revving, track devouring, beast with a million buff horses under the hood they just crap all over them. But there are a million lifestyles with a million different needs. If someone needs a work truck, or a family hauler, or just a fuel efficient commuter, that type of reviewer is basically shaming them for not owning a Lambo or such. These guys don't do that. They have their preferences, but they have an open mind and fair judgement.
Sold my Audi S5 for a Kia Stinger GT. This is an awesome car, don't be fooled by the badge. BTW, great comparison review. Finally, someone did this right without bias and brand snobbery or comparing it to cars that are in completely different price range, although the Stinger can hold its own with cars that are 15K - 20K USD higher.
You all prolly dont give a damn but does any of you know a way to log back into an instagram account..? I was dumb lost my password. I would love any tricks you can give me!
@@mattiasthenotoriousnilsson7375 The car was subject to the service bulletin for the rear hatch rattle, other than that it's been great. I got the car on lease from the dealer due to a big factory rebate, so I always had the option to return it when that was up. I ended up purchasing at the end of lease. Still love this car.
I’ll take the Stinger all day. Previous gen 3/4 Series really didn’t do it for me, and brand prestige doesn’t mean jack shit to me. You get wayyyyyyyyy more car with the Stinger for similar money and likely better reliability. Kudos to you guys for keeping things purely objective and reviewing the cars, not the brands.
KIA Stinger has aluminum inter cooler charge pipes with a rubberized coating for heat and sound insulation. BMW uses plastic charge pipes. Edit: Just to be clear, I like BMW's and used to own a 2013 335i xDrive. The Stinger is just an amazing car in everyway. Put a BMW batch on it and people would think it was the nicest BMW they have ever seen/driven.
Bugumir KIA knocked it out of the park with the stinger. There is so much attention to detail and refinement in the car. The fit and finish is excellent. Another example is the KIA splash guards; they fit perfect. It is the first time I did not have to trim, fit, or force a factory splash guard.
chamade166 they can say what they want about the BMW but what you get from the Germans is a well done interior with great quality control and no creaks and rattles for decades, meanwhile the KIA is rattling off the lot..... I have heard that the G80 is a whole different experience though and much more refined
Simply put...i'm not trying to impress the neighbors..i'd go Kia..it is better looking..and while the quality of materials may be a small step down from the BMW...the Kia will spend less time in the shop and will most likely retain more resale..BMW's as with most German cars not called Porsche plummet .
I have a GT2, I'll say if anything the neighbors end up more impressed. Most people aren't car people and just see a pretty car and don't know what brand it is. I've had folks guess it's a maserati. Just get the car you want, badges are for suckers.
Looks are subjective. I think BMW 3 series is better looking inside and out and as far as driving dynamics BMW wins for me. How do you know KIA will spend less time in the shop over BMW? Do you speak through experience actually owning a BMW or are like others who believe what they hear online? I've owned pre-owned BMW since 2012 and I have no reliability issues with either of them. The average BMW owner drives their BMW hard compared to KIa owners. Lets see how the engine and transmission of the Stinger holds up after 2-3 years of spirited driving.
I clicked on it for the BMW because I have a 430i in red lol. Ya, it's way under powered compared to stinger, less room etc, but I prefer it and enjoy every moment with it, and that's all it matters. As they said in the video, power figures do not tell the story. I currently have a stage 1 tune, catless DP and intake on it and day in day out obliterates my neighbor's Q50S, my tiny little 2L 4 cylinder turbo gaps a 3L 6 cylinder turbo consistently, that to me is worth it.
@@XMG3 hmmmm, what about about a stage 1 tuned, cold intake pipes & catless exhaust Stinger? Again the Stinger will smash the BMW. You really need to compare standard to standard and price against price. That's why I bought the Stinger and not the BMW. Here in Australia the BMW costs twice that of the Stinger for the same performance. Plus you get seven years unlimited warranty. A no brainer for me.
@@XMG3 I mean I could put just as much money into mods on my stinger and I’d gab any 4cyl bmw. Using mods to say that your car is faster isn’t a good argument cause with enough money that 4cyl bmw could probably outrun a stock 570 mclaren
Nice content! Drives me friggin crazy that a guy can slime his lambo or act like a fool and get 2.2million subscribers and these two professionals put out tv quality content and the subscriber count rises at a much slower pace.
unfortunately thats across youtube with all creators - the german youtube trend page i have to look at has so little original high quality content. The biggest channels are all basically just as bad as trash tv. But that comes with the growth of youtube - people just have bad taste and love to waste time :D
Young Black Conservative hi do not understand where are you coming from. He may have bought it today or a long time ago, the fact is the Stinger is being sold at a huge discount. Because it does not sell.
@@IsmaelMartinezPR...or the Stinger is slightly over-priced at the MSRP level to begin with and the discounts are "natural" market corrections. Personally, I believe the Stinger MSRP should start 12-17% lower than where it is, that's every car for me. W/o high msrp, there's little room for discounts or "incentives" to buy; you know, the JCPenny method.
Great review and comparison. I had a similar choice and picked the Kia just over 2 years ago. I haven’t ever regretted the decision. It really is that good. It also turns more heads than any cat I’ve had since the E46 M3. I love that it’s not a BMW or Audi. Add to that it’s one of the most reliable cars I’ve ever owned, has an insanely good warranty, and is going for a steal.
15:00 The suspension in these is amazing. My dad and I are obsessed with the Stinger, and I've heard through him that Kia tested the suspension on Australian roads and used that to improve it, that's one of the reasons why it's so smooth. The Stinger is a beautiful car and it is really underrated, I think the fact it is from Kia, not a "luxury" brand, is better. It doesn't have any old traditions or bigger shoes it has to fill to supersede models of old. It can be different and surprising because it doesn't have anything to prove to a pre existing fan base. They didn't have that pressure of rushing the next model out, they really took the time with it.
Way to go Kia! Great honest review guys! Stinger is expected to get even more power and tech soon and with 10 years warranty and better reliability for the brand it makes it even a better buy with tons of value.
The Stinger Facelift is just around the corner coming with a new 3.5 Twin-Turbo and yet has the best factory warranty offer (7-years in Australia). Who can beat that reliability?
Mitsubishi coming out with 10 years warranty/capped servicing. And unfortunately the 2021 Stinger is retaining its 3.3 TT V6 for time being for some reason.
I'd love to see the data on what cars people owned before a stinger. I imagine a LARGE percentage are guys like you and me who have WRXs and waited for the upscale performance subaru they never made and got fed up. To me, the stinger is the subaru legacy GT STI subaru should be making but never will.
I bought a 2019 Stinger GT 2 September of 2019. I am very well pleased with the performance of the car. It is my 4th Kia that I owned. The others were a 14’ a 15’ & 17’ Kia Optima SXL, all of which were traded in (upgraded) with low mileage & loved the performance. I only have two things I don’t like with my GT. One is mine is black & for $53,000 it should have come with the poly-glow finish coating. Mine is garage kept & I only have 3700 miles on it. I have a number of scratches all over. My other complaint is if I’m not careful, I’ll bang my head when getting in. Overall it is one of the best automobiles I’ve owned, (still young @ heart) a retired Police Officer, and I’m 72 years old
Just got a 2021 GT1 Stinger AWD and took it through some twisty mountain roads and I have to say I am blown away. I've had many great cars from 911's to BMW, Audi's and Mercedes and this car absolutely competes. For 43k you can get a mini Audi A7 experience. Great fit and finish, outstanding performance for a Grand Touring car. People over look it and that's fine with me as I don't see them all over the road. I get more looks in this than any BMW
Good video, guys! Thanks for the fun content. Y'all never disappoint with your knowledge and well-reasoned critiques, and I enjoy your personal dynamic. Take care, and thanks again!
Unbiased, unrivalled review and comparison. Putting the badge aside and just have fun driving and have the feel of every pros and cons of what it's like behind the steering wheel. Good job guys, subscribed straight away after the video.
I've owned my Kia Stinger GT1 AWD for 15 months now - Minus a couple squeeks and rattles it's perfect. Quick to surprise - gets compliments just about EVERY TIME I fill it up with fuel. If I had to do it again I'd get the RWD model w/o the all seasons since i barely drive it now since Covid. If you're on the fence about it... I'd highly recommend it.
Wow ! I thank you BOTH for your unbiased opinions. We purchased the Kia Stinger with the V6 and never looked back. We were considering the Audi and BMW and decided on the Stinger. I am Shocked though as the price we paid was Exactly the same as what you pay in America $52,000 Normally we pay approximately 10 to 20 percent more for the same vehicle. With the exchange rate at 25% vs our Canadian dollar Its a steal. Kia have a great line up of excellent vehicles. Ian Nicholson Ontario , Canada
I live in Scotland and took delivery of my white MSport Gran Coupe' a year ago. I looked at the Kia, as UK gets a 2.2 Diesel and a 2.0 Turbo petrol as well as the 3.3 GT2, the driving experience over Scottish roads lend to the BMW far more, despite being an older platform it drives much smaller than it is, the Kia however felt much more unwieldy. I loved this test on your program, when I watched it last year, and so glad you put it out on UA-cam, as it lets me reach out to feedback to you, as I am so jealous of the roads you have to enjoy these cars as the distances on the roads we have are clogged with slow cars we almost never get a 20 mile stretch or tarmac to truly blast a car down, heck we barely get 2 miles unhindered, so seeing you enjoy these cars is glorious!
I live in Canada. The top spec stinger is 50,495 CAD. That's USD $37,158. I drove a stinger, and I've driven quite a few BMWs. Is the kia as good, no. Is the Kia worth it, 100%, at the Canadian Price. Also keep in mind, in Canada, MSRP is the max price a car can be. at 37k USD, it goes against a BMW 230i, 228i, 330i maybe. Kia/Hyudai pricing is strange in the USA.
Plenty of people can’t get over the badge. I hear it in person and hear it on UA-cam. I’ve owned my Stinger GT for 2 years and absolutely love it. I still get people asking me what it is and who makes it.
I love the fact that the BMW 4 series Gran Coupe has a liftback hatch; unfortunately, the BMW 3 series sedan just has much more usable rear second row space.
I have a 2018 Stinger GT2 AWD and not only does it leave me with a perma-grin on my face while behind the wheel...it's one of those cars that you park, walk away from...and turn around again just to look at it. Badge snobbists just make me laugh and shake my head...I pity their attitudes. Great comparative and unbiased review guys...really enjoyed this. I'll continue pulling alongside BMWs and Audis on the street knowing I made a far superior car choice and purchase. And enjoy seeing their front bumpers in my rearview mirror.
Kia has made HUGE progress over the years. I had a 2015 Optima SX Turbo, and that car was stellar. Only reason I got rid it was because I wanted a motorcycle more. The Stinger is on my dream list.
Good video fellas. I own a 440xi GC with MSport, Track Handling Pack, and the factory performance package (exhaust plus chip), and while this will come as no surprise, it is a completely different car from the 430 you featured in the video. True, it sets you back in the mid-60's, but it takes it completely out of the Kia's league. If you ever have a chance, it's worth driving the Bimmer spec'ed that way. It will blow your mind.
Very happy with my Stinger. I added a K&N cold air intake, that added a little more power & made the sound a lot better without a loud / expensive exhaust upgrade.
Several years later..I still REALLY like the look of the Stinger. It's a classy design that will age well imo. I'm a BMW fan, but agree, as a family hauler, the Kia is an excellent value proposition.. Excellent review!
Man I just have to say the production quality and content is fantastic. Really got me paying attention. After I’m done I feel like I really get to “know” the car even though I may never drive one. Great work!
Excellent content and information. Your hard work and dedication really makes a big difference to the quality of the reviews. You produce the best car reviews.
I think this was the best car review ever. No corny presentation. No useless side comments. Simply valuable info from knowledgeable men. I have been thinking about the Stinger for some time. My favorite car is Toyota Avalon/Lexus ES 350 but those don't seem to compare with the Stinger (I will never say Kia). I think this review sold me on the Stinger.
Which is a good thing and is exactly what I predicted 2 years ago when it launched. It means it's a damn good car and people want it (myself included but I can't see myself not going EV in the near future)
I take the Kia Stinger definetly. It's more car for the price. BMW's are is 4 cylinder and is not cost effective. Kia has better performace, better interior and cheao to mantain.
@@terrencesoltz8943 i did not say fuel efficient but cost effective. I have owned bmw, they are efficient on fuel but too expensive to mantain (parts are expensive compared to Kia).
They are reviewing the cars by the models, not the badges. I love that! Great video, thanks! BTW, I'm a proud owner of a Genesis G70. 😃 No badge snob here.
You have to go for the diesel version of the 4-series, the 430d! Wonderful straight 6 cylinder, endless torque, very efficient and relatively cheap to ensure. It's literally the best you can get for normal daily driving.
I know. I drive the 335d: 320 hp and 470 fout-pound of torque. I drive it on Swiss mountain roads every day and the way that thing launches itself out of a hairpin curve is just eye-watering. Sounds great too. Americans don't know what they're missing.
I purchased this episode in 2018 when I was looking for a new company car. Finally, I got my first taste of petrol & RWD with a 430i GC M-Sport in - Todd's gonna like this - Snapper Rocks Blue. I like the Stinger, best KIA yet, but sadly the lease rates here in Germany are comically higher (50% or more) compared to Ze Germans. I was surprised how much the character of the car changes with the different modes. In Sport mode it feels more torquey like a bigger displacement whereas in Comfort & transmission in Sport it goes for higher revs similar to a N/A engine. It may be just a 4 banger, but revving the engine to its 7.000-7.500 RPM redline is an utter joy and makes me grin every time. No more diesels for me, thanks. After having driven an A4 TDI S-Line and a MK7.5 GTI in the past I really appreciate the superiority of BMW sport seats and the thickness and soft leather of the M-steering wheel. The HUD has spoiled me for life. Is it perfect? No. The interior cant compete with Audi (but you did know that already, didn't you?) and the B&O sound system is on another level compared to H&K. Still, I don't care, because it makes me smile more than any car before. I would choose a four-door coupe over a SUV or wagon every day, just on design alone. Now if they would only sell one with a V8 - it would be all the car I would ever need. Who doesn't like the rumble of a V8? Much more pleasing than any V6, certainly. Anyway, where to next? I had hopes for Ford releasing a four-door Mustang GT. Sacrilege? Think about it, what would you want as a dad with family and kids? V8, four doors, fun, affordable and reliable - something most modern German V8's cannot do. Chevy SS isn't an option (neither sold nor anywhere to find) here in Europe. Instead Ford went for an E-crossover, yikes. So, where to next?
Thank you for the non biased review despite the badge on the car. With Peter Schereyer (former Audi designer that did the original Audi TT) and Albert Biermann (former BMW M chief engineer) in charge, people need to take a good look at what Hyundai/Genesis/Kia are doing.
I'm a long-time MotorTrend TV aficionado (showing my age at well over 50) but, frankly, Mr. Schmucker and Mr. Deeken are the most likeable, professional, personable, easy to watch and listen to co-stars of the top automotive online content, imho. Their camaraderie is truly genuine and their love for all things automotive, superb expertise, and honest opinions shine above all the rest (esp. those unfortunate new money rich kids and their "oh let's see how many speeding tickets we can all get today in our 'exotics' wannabes). I find myself watching every UA-cam episode regardless of what vehicles they're evaluating just because it's so refreshing and upbeat.... simply addictive and I can't get enough. Good-bye NetFlix; I'm moving over to Amazon and Vimeo so I can enjoy all the EDD films and episodes that I can binge watch to keep my spirits up during these difficult times! Keep up the great work gentlemen; you two are simply the best (and kudos to your fantastic crew/videographers/editors and everyone else who helps make your show even that much better - not to mention your beautiful locations for shooting in Utah and Colorful Colorado!). You have no idea how happy you've made me during my wasted time in Covid "lockdown"; God bless you both.
The 4 series is an ancient platform now, though. The BMW F-series debuted in 2011 as 2012 models. The new G series are much improved on nearly every level.
Kia will probably be more reliable than BMW. Got 3 lexus's, 93 300zx TT, and 2012 kia sedona with 250k fwy miles on it. Kia has been like 'lexus reliable'.
I have a Kia Stinger GT and love it, I have surprised some people with it, lol, lovely daily driver, fully loaded ,stereo system is amazing, just love the car.
I've had my 2019 Stinger GTS AWD since September and love its overall performance and value. From my humble ownerships it's like a mashup of my 1986 951 and 2007 335i...but so much better! Been to 2 autocrosses, it can power the rear to rotate.
My mom had a 520 in the 80s, such a beautiful car, that 6-cylinder engine was so good. Then she got a 518i, the salesman convinced her that it was better driving, more efficient and effective. And it was. But it wasn’t the same and she gladly jumped into a 730i after 2 years in the 4-cylinder. BMW is slowly fading away getting rid of its milky 6s and rearwheel drive.
Kia first impressed me with the Genesis Coupe. I had considered getting one back when they first came out. Honestly I should have. Instead I picked up a Mazdaspeed 3 which turned out to be a gigantic piece of shit and i'm glad that it's long gone from my driveway. A few months ago I looked back on Genesis Coupe prices and was very surprised (although perhaps I shouldn't have been) to see how well those cars have held their value. I'm willing to bet that the Stinger will do the same although only time will tell of course. At times I have looked back at getting into a 3 series BMW and have been floored not only at how horribly they depreciate but also the laundry list of "common issues". I know the BMW fanboys are all defensive and butthurt but they have reason to be. Kia stormed into their living room and is kicking their ass on their own game console.
Excellent review and comparison between two great cars. Unfortunately in Australia we don't get the 4WD Stinger which I would have bought in a heartbeat as I loved my Subaru's which had 4 WD. I did get the GT in the Night Sky edition here in Oz. What an amazing car and I am not sure what beats it when you add up the performance, standard features, price and the 7 year warranty we get here in Australia. It is easily the best car I have ever owned and I have had some fantastic cars. It is extremely comfortable on long trips, has immense power when needed and holds the road like a bride holding her husband's wedding tackle on their wedding night. If it had a German badge, it would costs tens of thousands more as I discovered when I did price checks against equivalent German cars with similar features here in Australia. Brilliant job Kia.
You can enjoy the beauty of a Stinger w/o breaking the bank. I bought a 2018 Stinger Premium 4 cylinder turbo (255hp) for $33,600 out the door. Plenty of power and superb fuel mileage. I average over 30mpg in my rural area. And yes, I am secure enough (and rich enough) to NOT be a badge snob.
Bought a 2023 Stinger GT2 RWD in October 2022. Just hit 8k miles in October 2024. No issues and any car at a light was only visible in the rear view mirror. Scatpacks can't keep up , says 4.5 seconds 0-60 that's low ball. More like 4 seconds. Have the Snow White paint and Burgundy Napa leather. Best handling and responsive car I've driven. BMW, Mustang, Camaro, Audi none compare for the price.
Would love to see you guys do a review, of the 2020 Dodge Charger Widebody Scat Pack. To see if it's a better buy than the Hellcat, would like your thoughts. Thanks
Used to own a 19 GT RWD trim and I terribly missing it... Beautiful and unique car on the road and turns heads wherever you go.. Sold it coz I couldn't enjoy it enough as it sits in the garage collecting dust since I work from home.. but now that I switched to in-office posture, I NEED IT BACK! lol
Best review ever about cars. Original, and professional. Protecting always the end user. I have my second Blue Stinger GT2. I love it. Luxury brands need to re-think their products. Nowadays with a Luxury badge you are waisting 15k to 20k more vs Kia. Also warranty on Kias is 5 years vs 3 o 4 from the Luxury. Awesome review!.
Have a 2015 435iGC. I have used the storage to help move more boxes than some small SUV's, solid daily driver driving 100 miles/day (N55 is extremely reliable), and finally with no more than a set of track wheels/tires it's been a great time at the track (Buttonwillow and Streets of Willow). Amazing car and a HUGE value when you buy a lightly used model like I did!
I like the suggestion to consider this type of vehicle instead of a small SUV. From a quick search around the internet, it doesn't look like towing is recommended by the manufacturer. I realize that doesn't mean it isn't capable, but I'm not interested in ruining the warranty or the vehicle. I need some light towing (1500-2000 lbs) capability, and ability to car top kayaks. Not ready to shop for a few years, so we'll see what evolves. Nice review, Todd and Paul. The fact that the prices are within 1K made this especially interesting. Would be interesting to see how maintenance costs stack up for longer term ownership.
After driving Acura's for years, I jumped ship this year and bought a brand new 2020 Kia Stinger GT2 AWD and the car kicks ass. Build quality is just so impressive when compared to the Japanese makes. A ton of value for the dollar here.
Congrats. The stinger is better than the TLX in every way and feels more luxurious inside as well. It could easily fool anybody as a premium German sedan let alone a premium Japanese sedan.
I bought the 2019 KIA GT2 AWD over luxury brands. Mine is Ceramic Silver and I get looks and compliments all the time. I’ve changed out the KIA logo to the Korean E on their Stingers and made a few other changes. KIA has the BMW M series team now working for them, so my ego is strong enough I don’t need a BMW that will sell for 20k within three or four years. Compare the 0-60 and quarter mile in the Stinger compared to the Stinger. I have no idea where these guys are getting these BMW’s. I haven’t seen any pricing for that same BMW for under 60k. Also, KIA’s working on a redesign for 2022 that will upscale the cabin, offer more hp and torque, add a piano roof, new rim offers, and exhaust options the dealers will install. Some dealers are already offering these exhaust options.
Steve Wise I don’t think Kia will redesign, likely going to stop production, the car is just not selling. I was curious as well and got an offer for $35k for a 2020 model. Doug DeMuro got $37k I think.
The refreshed Stinger will be even better, more power, refreshed front and back end, new infotainment and 3d instrument cluster and variable exhaust like the Veloster N.
I'd have the Stinger just any and every day of the week, even if we compared it with similar powered BMW. I have to confess there isn't anything I can put my finger on besides the price/power ratio and the looks - I do think the Stinger looks A LOT better - , but I'd just go for it. Thanks for another excellent video, guys!
Got mine in March. Some fit and finish issues but great car for Car Dads. Loaded up a road trip and the cargo capacity is the same as the wife's Lexus NX but I get the power, stance, and crazy modding headroom.

Awesome choice. I have the Stingers cousin, the G70
Ceramic Silver is the best color. Nice pick up!
That's the exact color I wanted to get before I started hearing rumors of the 2021 refresh. Impatiently waiting.
Johnbosco Okpala you sure about that? I heard the Stinger was a one time production run and that’s it.
I really love that you all are not badge snobs and just review the cars for what they are and how they feel.

Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for watching!

Have you traveled in it ?
@@Eccentric1999 Furthest I have gone is a four hour road trip. Very comfortable and enjoyable on the highways.
Update on the stinger?
Now, you see, that is the type of detail that should matter in a review. Thanks.
Bugumir KIA knocked it out of the park with the stinger. There is so much attention to detail and refinement in the car. The fit and finish is excellent. Another example is the KIA splash guards; they fit perfect. It is the first time I did not have to trim, fit, or force a factory splash guard.
"German Engineering" 🤣
Noone cares, KIA can’t give these away as no one other than Korean nationalists will pay 55k for one 😂
chamade166 they can say what they want about the BMW but what you get from the Germans is a well done interior with great quality control and no creaks and rattles for decades, meanwhile the KIA is rattling off the lot..... I have heard that the G80 is a whole different experience though and much more refined
I'm a BMW fan but the Kia sounds pretty good ...and it's more rare to see a Stinger than a 4 series !! Ty for the vid....
Simply put...i'm not trying to impress the neighbors..i'd go Kia..it is better looking..and while the quality of materials may be a small step down from the BMW...the Kia will spend less time in the shop and will most likely retain more resale..BMW's as with most German cars not called Porsche plummet .
Yup, buy the car for you. I dont understand why people would choose a vehicle they like less just because they want impress strangers.
I went with Kia. Love it.
I have a GT2, I'll say if anything the neighbors end up more impressed. Most people aren't car people and just see a pretty car and don't know what brand it is. I've had folks guess it's a maserati. Just get the car you want, badges are for suckers.
@@wanyien80 ownership experience
Looks are subjective. I think BMW 3 series is better looking inside and out and as far as driving dynamics BMW wins for me. How do you know KIA will spend less time in the shop over BMW? Do you speak through experience actually owning a BMW or are like others who believe what they hear online? I've owned pre-owned BMW since 2012 and I have no reliability issues with either of them. The average BMW owner drives their BMW hard compared to KIa owners. Lets see how the engine and transmission of the Stinger holds up after 2-3 years of spirited driving.
As a Pearl Snow White Stinger GT AWD owner I appreciate a channel focusing on the actually vehicle instead of a badge.
Let's be honest, most of us clicked on the video for the Stinger not the unremarkable BMW
Using mods to say that your car is faster isn’t a good argument cause with enough money that 4cyl bmw could probably outrun a stock 570 mclaren
v6 over lawnmower v4 anyDay no matter how hard the presenters try to justify.
@@XMG3 The reason you tuned the BMW is because it was an overpriced piece of rubbish in the first place from the factory. End of story.
Nice content! Drives me friggin crazy that a guy can slime his lambo or act like a fool and get 2.2million subscribers and these two professionals put out tv quality content and the subscriber count rises at a much slower pace.
We appreciate you saying this. Glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
That's because most UA-cam viewers are teens to early twenties.
unfortunately thats across youtube with all creators - the german youtube trend page i have to look at has so little original high quality content.
The biggest channels are all basically just as bad as trash tv.
But that comes with the growth of youtube - people just have bad taste and love to waste time :D
Could not agree more, these two come over as the nicest people you could ever wish to meet!
@@DerekMc64 They are!
My last 3 cars were BMW's, last one an M240i, traded it on a Stinger and I'm loving it
M240i should disappear from a Stinger. But they are different cars.
How do you feel about the fact that Kia is still selling 2018 GT2 at $20k less than sticker. After you bought yours.
Young Black Conservative 2018
I own a GT1 Stinger because it excelled with features, performance, looks, and warranty. It competes well from A5 to Scatpack
SOLD! Looks like I am buying a Stinger GT.
That bmw probably broke down after the shoot
I have 2019 Stinger...Absolutely impressed...
Am Australian. Can confirm that the roads here aren't flash
Way to go Kia! Great honest review guys! Stinger is expected to get even more power and tech soon and with 10 years warranty and better reliability for the brand it makes it even a better buy with tons of value.
My first dealership purchase was my blue stinger GT awd, it's great, lots of fun, turns a lot of heads when I'm driving.
Picking up my 22GT on Thursday in Micro Blue..... Two test drives and I was blown away with it.
The Stinger Facelift is just around the corner coming with a new 3.5 Twin-Turbo and yet has the best factory warranty offer (7-years in Australia). Who can beat that reliability?
10 years in USA.
Pretty sure they’re killing the Stinger.
Mitsubishi coming out with 10 years warranty/capped servicing. And unfortunately the 2021 Stinger is retaining its 3.3 TT V6 for time being for some reason.
Hyundai
I just drove a GT1 and I am incredibly impressed. I may be trading my WRX in for soon.
I'd love to see the data on what cars people owned before a stinger. I imagine a LARGE percentage are guys like you and me who have WRXs and waited for the upscale performance subaru they never made and got fed up. To me, the stinger is the subaru legacy GT STI subaru should be making but never will.
@@BrandoDrum absolutely. Also the Kia's value in terms of performance, warranty, maintenance etc blows the European competition out of the water.

Traded in my 2012 VW Golf R and 2006 Volvo S60 R for Stinger GT Limited
@@nikolayvishnyakov6730 How Does Either Of Your Previous Cars Compare To The Stinger?
I took a mate's rwd GT for a drive through the NSW hinterland and was massively impressed. Plus it has all the gadgetry of a lexus.
Just bought the 2020 GT2 for 44k out the door and I love it!
Overall it is one of the best automobiles I’ve owned, (still young @ heart) a retired Police Officer, and I’m 72 years old
I went for the Stinger - price/package + design.

I'm really glad someone finally makes a car review on the Gran coupe. It's an amazing machine!
Every time i park my Stinger I break my neck looking back at it while walking away. Oh yeah and the driving experience is amazing
I do that with mine, too!

I am Shocked though as the price we paid was Exactly the same as what you pay in America $52,000
Normally we pay approximately 10 to 20 percent more for the same vehicle.
With the exchange rate at 25% vs our Canadian dollar Its a steal.
Kia have a great line up of excellent vehicles.

love your reviews, it's pretty much what a normal person really cares about, even a regular enthusiast cares about.
I love my Stinger! I have the “E” badges and get confused looks all the time when I tell people it’s a Kia when they ask.
DUDE SAME I LOVE THAT FEELING!!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching and taking time to comment!
I love the Stinger and in all honesty it's probably my next car.
Love this episode, you are finally doing a review on my car!
Website to buy it? Need it for my stinger 😭
@@gianmichaelrivera6427 not sure .... Was on my stinger when I got it , but look on stinger forum site for more expert info

Several years later..I still REALLY like the look of the Stinger. It's a classy design that will age well imo. I'm a BMW fan, but agree, as a family hauler, the Kia is an excellent value proposition.. Excellent review!
Good job guys....finally a proper stinger comparison

Excellent content and information. Your hard work and dedication really makes a big difference to the quality of the reviews. You produce the best car reviews.
Stinger all day... I own 2 GT Stingers always full of power and looks... No comment needed!
Thank you for the compliments. Glad to have you with us. Thanks for watching!
In Australia the Stinger GT is $69,000 and the 430i M Sport is $94,000. I think I want a Stinger GT.
No one is laughing at KIA anymore
I have one and i love it. 😊
Bought a 2023 Stinger GT2 RWD October 2022 ... ceramic silver with red interior ... Adro carbon fiber kit on it ... the MOST fun car I have ever had.
The Stinger is Amazing
My only gripe w/ the KIA is that it's not as inexpensive as I thought it would be on the used car market.
Which is a good thing and is exactly what I predicted 2 years ago when it launched. It means it's a damn good car and people want it (myself included but I can't see myself not going EV in the near future)
Check Doug demuro
Well it's gonna take some time for something like this to go down in price.
So you’re pissed it retains its value...right
You can buy the used BMW...Im sure it'll drop much faster then the kia. lol
Amazing stinger! I feel like buying this stinger right now.
I take the Kia Stinger definetly. It's more car for the price. BMW's are is 4 cylinder and is not cost effective. Kia has better performace, better interior and cheao to mantain.
Hahahahahahahahaha
Paulo Feliciano Saningo , ты абсолютно прав, bro))
That four cylinder sounds wimpy.
I’m not sure what you mean about a four cylinder not being cost effective. The BMW gets 23/33/27 mpg rating vs Kia’s 17/25/20.
Too heavy
Love my Kia Stinger GT2 AWD.
What an amazing car.
Great review guys.
Audi’s former designer, and BMW’s former M division engineer both designed this car. It’s an amazing machine.
If you guys love the Stinger, I'd highly recommend driving the Veloster N. Goes toe to toe with a Type R.

The 4 series is an ancient platform now, though. The BMW F-series debuted in 2011 as 2012 models. The new G series are much improved on nearly every level.
Too bad the upcoming G22 4 series is so ugly.
@Samuel Wu omg you weren't lying what an abortion!
Except looks, I thought the f series was ugly but gee golly it's like they are trying to get the bad press with their designs.
Genesis is Hyundai, wake up
Excellent review and comparison between two great cars.
I totally agree. Nothing says quality too me then a nice solid door. When you shut it, it makes that solid sound.
Great review, but m sport doesn't change anything besides the bumpers, side skirts, and steering wheel.
Love the stinger, I just wish I was in the market for one right now
Would love to see you guys do a review, of the 2020 Dodge Charger Widebody Scat Pack.
Big compliments, thank you. We’re glad you like your Stinger... great cars. Thanks for watching!
I really love my stinger
Got a 2019 Kia Stinger and it’s the best daily driver I’ve had. Add a few performance upgrades and it’s a great car.
I own a Civic Si. 25k and I love driving it and the practicality is excellent too.
Had my Stinger GT AWD for 2 years now and don't regret the decision.
The refreshed Stinger will be even better, more power, refreshed front and back end, new infotainment and 3d instrument cluster and variable exhaust like the Veloster N.
Subscribed. What a great review. Very entertaining, went into the most interesting details, great shots and content!
Glad to have you with us. Thank you!
Loaded up a road trip and the cargo capacity is the same as the wife's Lexus NX but I get the power, stance, and crazy modding headroom.
can't believe what is going on this world. and very surprising. wow. thanks for your efforts. 고맙습니다.
