- who knew cooking a big chicken would be so hard?
Welcome back to Unguided, where I'm trying to complete every quest in old school runescape without using a guide, wiki or plugins. I'll only be using my limited knowledge and in-game learnings. Full rules below.
RULES
- No use of OSRS wiki (or any equivalent) for anything - this includes looking up item spawns, quest guides, boss guides, anything
- No use of any other quest helper sites
- No use of quest helper plugin
- Essentially no use of any outside-game assistance
CAVEATS
- I love OSRS UA-cam, I might inadvertently learn something I don't know by watching my favourite content creators, but I'm not going to stop watching them so that's just a risk I'm willing to take + it's unlikely going to be relevant for me
- I may use some QoL plugins, but only a few. Loot tracker to prove grinds, ground items so I don't miss drops (and to add cool loot beams lol) and left click to use bones. Nothing that will give me info I didn't previously have
- I'm going to try and avoid any spoiler comments. If you can, please try not to help me if there's an episode where I'm stuck on something. I appreciate the sentiment but telling me an item spawn or quest step could spoil the fun :)

Thank you so much for 10k subs 💚I honestly can't put into words how much I appreciate all the support, and reading all the comments of people enjoying the series is driving me to that quest cape!
Very deserved! Just enjoyable content, easy to follow and your nostalgia is palpable and feels so cozy!
I think its crazy that you still haven't really blown up yet, need that YT algorithm to do its work.
This series giving me flashbacks to 2005/6 when I played heavily. Wikis weren't really a widespread thing, and while there were resources for quests... they weren't always the most accurate, or properly translated. Ape Atoll>Recipe for Disaster were goddamn nightmares.
very deserved :)
This is a great channel man pls keep making these
Gotta love how almost everything in that quest is a left-click eat option. That must have caused so much rage over the years
The interlude of discovering you can sit at campfires is really charming in this episode. It's one of my favorite random little tidbits they added.
"They're no longer going to be his children, they are just going to be in the water? Fair dues" man that actually send me reeling. Top notch
'the nut of kings' 🤣 these devs definitely had fun doing the dialogue for this game ahaha
Would have spilled my drink on that one if I had some 😁 I wonder though if it had the same meaning as today?
comes after the knot of kings.
You might be the only person in this game to get feathers and a chisel from Rantz's kids
Nah I did myself as well to not bring any. I'm sure ultimate ironmen did too.
I have a UIM quest cape (alongside an RS3 15 year veteran cape) and never knew that was a thing that you could do.
Iron spit I think came out at the same time as the quest, so it was a new "exciting" item to smith that people had heard of. Some of these old quests are super interesting to watch you play through without the context of the game on release! Great series!
Very interesting! That often seems to be the way with some of these quests, they would have made much more sense on release. Thanks for the kind words
@AlienFoodage perhaps you can allow yourself to read the associated blog post, or allow yourself to research blog posts for the series at they would be still within the spirit of the series?
I decided against it just as it technically is an outside-game resource, even if supplied by Jagex
It didn't - spits were added as a minor addition about a month before this quest. Prior to the existence of spits, people had to cook chompies and rabbits at pre-existing spits. RFD and this subquest were added a month later.
I remember using the iron spit like crazy for more cooking xp while chompy hunting as well as in the elf forests before I got access to Lletya or the port shortcut.
A spit roast with Rantz and Unguided, what a treat! Count me in!
LMAO i fucking love osrs it’s such a fucking shitshow without guides hahahaha this series is fucking mint mate.
A lot of the quests DO give you all the info you need to complete them. Just a handful are way too obtuse though. Like this one lmao
@@ticklordImagine the time before they updated the quest logs and sometimes dialogue. There used to be even less information and less progress tracking in the quest log.
I know it may be hard to believe, but I currently own near 10,000 cooked jubblys. Stay strong king, let's see those bgloves
Broooo ❤️😭 you’re seriously too kind with these donations man. I really appreciate the support and as I’ve said before, words don’t do my gratitude justice. Also, what in the actual hell are you serious that’s insane mate
10,000 Jubblys isn't that many, how is this a brag?
I got you homie
@@aarons6935relax buzzkillington
@aarons6935 did you watch the video? They're fucking annoying to get
The breath I held from you thinking you were going to die on the hot rocks until you realized you just had to be a zombie monkey was the longest minute, I swear to God. Peak UA-cam.
So satifying to see you realize the zombie greegree part. Very clever
haha brutal! Considering a simple “17 smithing” requirement to free skrach would have helped massively or even “iron” spit at all
Found the series last week via another youtuber, who simply mentioned it in passing.
BEST. SERIES. EVER. And I do watch quite a bit of OSRS contect.
Keep up the amazing work, we are all rooting for you! Really hope you persevere and get the quest cape all on your own! It will be an amazing achievement, both for you and ultimately the community that you are building around you.
Best of luck!
Thank you, I really appreciate the kind words and I’m so glad you’re enjoying the series! I’m so motivated right now to carry on going and make it to quest cape, although it’ll be a long journey 😅
Out of interest do you remember the youtuber who mentioned it?
14:21 "The ogre points to a small clearing to da south" why is this the funniest thing
This video makes me feel slightly less embarrassed that this is the *one* part of RFD I had to check a guide for. When the game said Rantz fired an arrow on a "beach near Tai Bwo Wannai", I took that literally and was convinced that the arrow would be in the sand somewhere. Spent hours along the coast going from the top of Karamja to Kharazi jungle looking for that arrow. Must have passed by that tree a dozen times and never noticed the arrow sticking out of it.
*Then*, like you, I spent an eternity looking for a nearby spit, going back and forth between Karamja and Feldip Hills to see if I missed anything. After a couple hours of this, I finally caved and googled "osrs spit roast" and came across the Wiki article for the iron spit. Played this game consistently from 2005 to 2010 and never once heard of that item. Kudos to you for figuring that one out on your own.
The fact that you just happened to check the smithing levels and solve the quest is insane, great job mate.
"I just know I'm gonna fuck things up so I'm just gonna get 2 of everything" 😂😂😂 that made me laugh so much, this series is great and I'm so glad you're continuing with it mate. It absolutely makes my whole day when I see you have a new video out so thank you for persevering with these just to entertain us random people on UA-cam
It’s my absolute pleasure and I really appreciate the kind words!
watching this episode induced a sense of madness within me
Watched the full series start to finish this week. It’s awesome so much fun to watch - keep it up!
no spoilers: theres a runelite plugin to make roofs toggle on and off based on your characters position, makes the world look nicer without the roofs being annoying
Part of the series is no plugins
@echod1929 We can see that he does use some sometimes, though. The drop highlight plug in and the one that tracks loot.
So happy I came across this series properly! I've watched an episode here and there over the past few months but I binged the super cut over the last 24 hours and it was some of the most fun I've had on youtube for a while! Very keen to watch you grow!
Talking to the kids is genius lol who knew they give out the stuff you need! Wiki's don't tell you everything xD thanks for another awesome installment
Always fun to watch this series. Especially when it's such a confusing quest and you're trying to decipher ogre speak
I have been absolutely binging this series! It's so good! Thank you!
This is my favourite series and it deserves wayyyy more hype and attention. Keep it up! (And feel free to upload even more often because I’m obsessed with this series) ❤
I absolutely BINGED this series yesterday, you have such a chill voice even when you're frustrated, it's great. Keep up the good work! ❤
Yay! Another one from my favorite series! Loving the content! ❤
I have not played this game in 7 years. I feel like now I'm far too stupid to complete anything or really get any enjoyment out of completing tasks.
However when I watch this video it inspires me, but I'm really not sure if I will be putting the effort into it again... It's alot more fun to play with friends too, which I don't have
I just love this series. Thx for making these man!
Love the videos, definitely my new favorite series.
Can’t believe this is your first attempt at making videos.
I commend your dedication sir. I am experiencing members quests for the first time and would be totally lost without RuneLite guides and the wiki.
Another week another unguided episode! Loving it 😊
Thanks for the upload
Every new episode is a gift! Best series on UA-cam rn
When a segment of the video is named "murdering the locals" you know you're in for a good one.
This channel is 100 percent going places. You make great stuff. Keep at it! The series is an awesome idea and I really think your laid back, not over the top style serves it well. Good luck on your unguided journey!
Thanks for the kind words, i really appreciate the support
Great series man, really reignited my love for OSRS - just did SOTE for the first time the other night!
Grats man! And thanks for the kind words
Very entertaining watching the thought process for these quests! I can't wait to see how the later parts of the Elf and Myreque lines get dealt with
I’m looking forward to Mourning’s End part 2 for sure.
My current favorite series on osrs! I cannot WAIT for the unguided quest cape 😂 so many future laughs in store
Loving the series!!! Keep up the amazing work!
Hahahah your editing, the fast forward when you can’t figure the spitroast out. Man your pain is just so relatable and hilarious. This is why we love osrs
best osrs content on UA-cam atm! don't be afraid to ask for help with the algorithm, your videos are such high quality once you get noticed I'm sure you're going to blow up
One of my favorite quests almost entirely for the single line "Sneaky sneaky stick da chompy". Love the series! keep it up!
Love this series. Much respect for doing this with 0 outside help.
Cant wait till you get to Mournings End 2
Love this series. Such a vibe
Another fantastic video! Love your content man, keep it up!
Maybe favorite part of this series is that you have these amazing leaps of logic, then get stuck on the most mundane problems. 😂
This series makes me happy. I hope playing is fun!
Loving the series bro. Keep it up
23:20 "is that a spit roast over there? No its a fire" needed "spit roast" counter for this episode for sure! another great episode! thanks again!
Really awesome and unique series really like the videos keep up the good work bro
Those fetching gorillas with a weirdly large hit box stopping you from moving lead me to think I was just lagging and about to disconnect many times when doing the monkey quest quests.
You're so big brain man. You're in the same lot as those who figured out the solutions to 80s point and click games.
You definitely deserve the 10k and all the rest to come!
This is the best series at the moment, just discovered it and I'm at ep12, so it will take a while before I caught up
Grats on 10k subs 🎉 , great content.
Thank you!
Just watched ep 1-24 in a couple days. flowed very nicely well done
Glad you enjoyed and thanks for the support!
Stumbled onto this and so couldn't help watching & laughing. This is cool ty.
Always hyped to see you upload!
Love your videos! Thanks again.
Perfect timing, this is just what I needed for lunch
Best new OSRS content out rn
Really enjoying again mate!
Back when I first got members I killed a kebbit while trying out hunter and figured out you could make an iron spit to roast it. Watching this made me realize how obscure of an item it is if you don’t know about it
the amount of innuendos is fascinating
Honoured to just gave u ur 1000th like on the vid, keep up the entertainment love it
It doesn't matter how many times you say spit-roast, I am NOT buying the OF.
Love the content, so hyped to be catching up with the whole series!
Im just imagining minecraft steve punching a tree with a chicken repeatedly lol
Another banger of an episode, keep itup. Honestly if you dont get nominated for a golden gnome I dont know what they are playing at.
Thank you for the kind words, I really appreciate it!
Can't wait to see you get the quest cape!
I liked watching you figure out the stuffed snake recipe because I cannot remember doing it in RS2 but then I'm tormented by knowing RS has an iron spit you can create (an item only used in the quest iirc)
I am loving this series favorite one of 2024
Your voice is very relaxing lol, great series!
in hindsight with recent Hunter Skill Changes, the spitroast part must be even more confusing since thats how you prepared bush meat prior to RFD
Doing thesw quests basically how i.did sheep shearer and cooks assistant in 2001 is crazy even those super simple quests werent intuitive at all in most regards.
The quest log they added later probably helps though
what a phenomenal series
Holy shit I can't believe you found the iron spit in the smithing menu. I thought you were gonna have to give up, go elsewhere, and not find out about iron spits until hours later.
Lessgo the best series on youtube just keeps on delivering new content! Loving it as always
Welcome back!
The fact that you cooked two snakes back to back without burning them is insane lol I burned like 4 in a row back in the day
Smh, he didnt realise you need a second person to help you spitroast the bird
gz on 10k subs :)
Thank you!
Can't wait for the next episode honestly one of the most hype series just cause doing this unguided is a pain in the rear.😅
Thank you!
@@AlienFoodage cheers to you man I'd break and go for a guide with a lot of these. Runescape definitely taught life lessons on expecting the unexpected.
Another amazing video, these gloves will be very well deserved!
i feel like every time he says "i feel like i'm in tune with this game now..." he finds out he left something behind and has to go 12 minutes out of his way to get it
❤❤❤❤ big up to this series
Haha, spit roast.
awesome series
This quest is wild. "Harvest the Nut Of Kings."
This is new favourite iron. Best since c engineers hcim but locked to PvP. This series is great!
Don't worry, you'll get better at this. In 5-10 more years things like the existence of the iron spit will just be in your mind at all times
I just noticed the little snort you made when you read "I must spit-roast a chompy bird", fucking dead.
I fucking love this series. You're the best
When you play with the quest helper plugin or quest guides theres a lot of moments where I think "Well how the fuck was anyone supposed to work this out?"
Turns out a lot of the time theres optional NPC dialogue that can gently push you in the right direction. Cool.
best series!
love it dude
Fuck. I accidentally caught up! Been binging and loving the series. Keep at it champ
this is so entertaining to watch. having done these quests and still having no fucking clue what to do XD
Why did these videos stop getting recommended to me... they're so good! I have a lot to catch up on
