- Today we have a build for the Lamb from the Cult of the Lamb in Dungeons & Dragons. If you like combining a random assortment of spells, weapons and manipulation abilities into one build, this is the one build you need for D&D 5e.

"Cults are bad, but unions are good"
That town in Night in the Woods: I'm seeing a bit of a grey area
They're pretty standard as far as unions go. Never encountered a union that wasn't at least moderately fucked up and immoral.
Finally, we create a cult in DnD.
I mean we could before, but now as a little lamb.
Saw the thumbnail and asked: "Is there a sheep based race in D&D?"
Race used: Satyr (albeit Reborn)
ME: "Huh...that works."
Lore accurate. You start the game being executed.
It's actually amazing how well fits with Lamb. The weapon proficiencies, the spells you get, and the flavor of being a pact-bound little killing machine with weapons almost as big as they are. Even the 6th level feature is perfectly on-brand.
Literally just opened the video and saw this comment, and I think I'll take a blind guess to assume Hexblade?.. Though part of me can't help but think that feels... way too obvious so it seems like it has to be something else.
Edit: I see I was half-right
When I read I thought I was going to be another bard lol
And from a lore perspective. The Lamb's power comes from the crown that turns in to a weapon. Not the god you make a contract with.
@@bengonzalez3109 Agreed. The Crown is definitely the important part.
Why would you redact the class name but still say pact-bound? There's literally only one class that has pact features and it's .
For a background that gives you some more followers consider the Knight Background. Knight gives you the Retainer background feature, you get 3 commoners who handle mundane tasks for you, as long as you maintain their respect and not sacrifice them to an evil deity. They will not, however, enter conflict for you.
I have a suggestion. How about Jason Blood/The Demon Etrigan?
I'd be interested in seeing how to build a magician that can turn into a hulking, fire-spewing fiend.
Haven't watched it, but imma guess Tulok makes another amazing build
Every time True Strike is added I reflexively click the like button after hearing the reason.
My original assumption was he was just going to grab Custom Lineage for the lamb, but REBORN SATYR IS SO GOOD FOR IT.
Hexblade actually does fit lorewise. In game and in the trailers, you can see the Red Crown turning into various weapons and tools.
Loved this Build!!! Some folks I know were trying to think through how to build the Lamb, and you really nailed it! Thanks for the awesome video.
Honestly this would make a really interesting character.
Brilliant build for this Lamb. Gets everything flavorful and mechanically awesome.
Personally, to really capture the Lamb’s way, besides a homebrew race that suits best, Warlock/rogue. Just two levels of Rogue for cunning action to give you the roll trick.
Once again Tulok makes a cool build, once again I add the build to my “Must Play” list
I keep hearing about this game, I'm gonna have to try it at this rate
Now, in an attempt to both feed the algorithm and wildly speculate on what builds could possibly come next:
Marvel: Hero: Jessica Jones (A-Force-Ful Defender)
Marvel: Villain: Gor (Butchers Gods)
DC: Hero: Negative Man (Is Positively Glowing)
DC: Villain: Kite Man (Soars Majestically!)
Kingdom Hearts: King Mickey Mouse (Has the Power of Disney)
Smash Bros: Palutena (Has Godly Powers)
Overwatch: Cassidy (Knows What Time it Is)
Mortal Kombat: Sektor (A Ninja-Cyberman)
Dark Souls: Gravelord Nito (Unleashes Death)
Sonic: Dr.Robotnik / Eggman (Mustache for your surrender)
Mass Effect: Kasumi Goto (Steals the Show)
Killer Instinct: Black Orchid (Wins in a Flash)
Sly Cooper: Bently (Uses Brains to Trump Brawn)
Dishonored 2: Emily Kaldwin (Makes Daddy Proud)
Disney: Kim Possible (Anything is Possible)
Dreamworks: Mr Wolf (A Bad Guy, but not a Bad Guy)
Maya and the Three: Princess Maya (Flies Like an Eagle)
The Kingsman: Eggsy (Manners Maketh Man)
Night Vale: Cecil Palmer (The Voice of a Community)
M3Gan: Megan (A Child Friendly Build)
Inuyasha: Miroku (A Monk who is not a Monk)
My Hero Academia: Koji Koda (The Dog Whisperer)
Records of Ragnarok: Lu Bu (Pierces the Sky)
Naruto: Rock Lee (Harnesses the Power of Youth!)
Soul Eater: Maka Albarn (Meister of Death)
So stoked you did this. I'd suggest a poll for which character and/or item run, to use for the game Binding of Isaac.
Dark storyline, definitely right up there with Cult of the Lamb genre theme
I've mixed monk and cleric before, pretty good build depending on what your going with, I think Puffin Forest did that for curse of Strahd, the worst valentine's day story, lol. Also not 100% sure but I think you used that build on this channel before.
Haven't watched these for ages. But the lamb brought me back.
Honestly so many warlock characters needing to take hexblade because most great powers give their followers a powerful item should be worked into the base warlock. Maybe have it be so you can either take eldritch blast or CHA on weapon attacks? The have invocations that let you get the other if you want both, with both being intrinsically given to hexblde.
Let’s gooo I’ve been waiting for this one ☝️
Missed a nice shot to make a Cupid this year
From what though?
Amazing idea!
Sad that you have to explain every time that 1d4+1d6 it`s not a 1d10, even when you always alert "almost like". But one day all those sheep will understand...
The minimum is better though!
THIS WAS UNEXPECTED
Still pulling for Eglentine Price (Bednobs and Broomsticks), Winifred Sanderson (Hocus Pocus), Doctor Dolittle, Councilor Troi (Star Trek: tNG), Mary Poppins, the Reverend Doctor Syn (The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh), and Sir Dragonet King Arthur's jester (le Morte d'Arthur/ Idylls of the King).
Just when I thought I had that soundtrack out of my head, Tulok drops this video.
I have a neat build idea. I would love to see Gregory House. I started thinking about it when I thought of building a thief that used the Healers kit with their bonus. Then it kind of just popped into my head. Inquisitive rogue / knowledge cleric seems like the right path... Except if you've seen the series you know House's dump stat is certainly dex. It seems like a fun challenge that I would love to see you tackle.
Just beat the game today, how convenient!
Stinking Cloud is really amazing if you can combine it with smth like Plant Growth, Spike Growth or Insect Swarm
With the way the game is taking off, I am going to suggest Peppino from Pizza Tower for a future character build.
Also.. Though it seems others are trying not to spoil it, I'll give some argument for your choice of patron. Though it'll require some (minor) CotL spoilers.
In the Lore, The One Who Waits is Death. Like... The CotL World's Grim Reaper / God of Death. However, the Lamb's Power doesn't actually stem from TOWW himself. The Magical Weapons and the Curses come from the Red Crown, a magical artifact which is given to the lamb by their patron deity, and... The Red Crown's power is in fact separate from that of the one who waits, as we see in one of the endings which I will not spoil. So, the Red Crown as a Hexblade works perfectly.
It's really funny that the official Cult of the Lamb twitter account has been active in picking on other IPs within the past couple of weeks, and now we're here.
The holy cow bit got me good
You should create a Mr. Pickles build. He's a good boy.
hoping for chai from hi fi rush in the future. I'm thinking human swords bard/hexblade (he made a deal with vandelay for his dreams to come true and it gave him unfathomable powers and also made performance part of melee combat.) shocking grasp pulls the enemy toward you, not you toward them, but meh, there's your magnet arm to close combat distance. thunderwave for a hibiki, other thunder based spells should absolutely be taken, and anything to whip things around with magnets is perfect. all of your enemies are part of the music video that is your life so hit 'em with otto's irresistable dance from time to time.
warhammer is versatile melee bludgeoning, that's your guitar. you can even use it as a bard spellcasting focus with swords bard. if you run out of things you need hexblade and swords bard for, dip into battle master fighter for some maneuvers to switch up those combos and have a bigger hit die showing up.
Having not watched yet, my prediction is that this is going to be a Hexblade build with some extra sauce.
yes! yes! yes! yes!
I like the flavor of the lock. Hate the having to always use your max spell slot thing.
Has anyone ever played using Tulok's builds? How well do they tend to do? There's a lot of multiclassing which I've heard actually makes most builds worse but Tulok seems like he knows what he's doing and he always makes it sound so viable.
Does anyone have experience with this?
It would be neat to see some of the characters from Invincible? A lot of them are pretty straight forward and the Guardians in particular would be somewhat similar to your JL builds but they'd be fun to watch.
Rituals within Rituals…Ritual-ception!
Hey guys, just to warn you there is a slight mistake in this build. He starts off with 15 Chr and 14 Dex with a +2 Chr and +1 Dex from race. With the ASIs provided we would have a character with 21 Chr and 19 Dex. The simplest way to fix this build is to easy swap the base scores or swap the boosts from the race bonus. You can start off with what is written in the video, but that will cause you to have 1 less AC and only a +2 to Dex checks and 1 less for Dex save until lvl 8 which is completely unnecessary it you start out with 16 Chr and Dex.
Happy Valentine's Day
Tulok, can you attempt Skul for Skul the hero slayer? I think it's a awesome character, and I think it would be a fun build for you
Oh oh maybe for you next one you can do Isaac Clarke from Dead Space?
At the mention of a holy cow made me think of this as a minotaur.
We need adventure time builds
Obscure video game build: Boogerman!
I've always wondered if it's possible to make a character based on The Accelerator from To Aru Majutsu No Index (A Certain Magical Index). Base form would be best as his angel form is essentially god tier power. That and his base is already OP.
Has anyone put this into a character sheet? I would love to use it.
While Tangle the lemur lives in a world filled with violence (which would make a neat build for the adventurers in the TTrpg games, Sir Tulok please?) we sometimes need indiscriminate amounts of gore, and nothing beats Happy tree friends in this niche...wh- this is a new one!? JOY!
As last of it's kind in a world filled with false prophets, a lamb is chosen by "The One Who Waits" to fulfill his commands: wearing the Red crown he will make a cult in it's name and lay waste to the four bishops of the old faith to set free this ambitious god, but maybe there is another one worthy to take the seat of lord of this world...
For another leader with power from a higher power, a magic weapon, and has the favor of at least one god, there's Jesse Faden
Suggestion... Gaston. Stats based on the song about him.
Weird watching this now that Twitter actually died
And here's me hoping for the RE3 / MvC3 Nemesis build. For the player hoping to get their (Jill) Valentine... Maybe.
6:22 foreshadowing?
6:39 😲
I'd have thought you would go far enough into DSS to get Raise dead
Im surprised you didn't go with the aberrant soul sorcerer they get evards black tenticals
I haven't seen it yet, but I'm guessing Warlock and/or Cleric levels. I have no knowledge about Cult of the Lamb
It’s like Hades but cute
@@spencermatthewseams6736 Isn't Hades already cute?
Please, do Gojo Satoru from JJK
maybe an oddball request but here goes. Can we get the characters from Helluva Boss? I wanna see your take on Blitz and Millie.
hexblade monk sound terrible? My friend im playing a hexblade/wildmagic barbarian
I mean Narinder is a god of death, so hexblade fits thematically as well-
Two things. One…. I’m using this in my next game. Two, what would it take to remake the main characters from ganbare goemon?
*slanders monk and then immediately multiclasses into monk*
hmmmm=
40 seconds in and... Gordon Ramsey build when?
Edit: You used Stinking Cloud. EWE!
I second the Gordon Ramsey build
Union Warlock Patron when?
Dat Gorillaz open
The sauce was on the daggers you mean.
"D4 +D6 is actually fractionally better than a D10 (6 vs 5.5 average) plus the minimum is 2 rather than 1...
juuzou suzuya tokyo ghoul
Whats the official tulok stance on unionized cults? Collective barganing should allow you to avoid the worst parts of a cult lol
>Unions are dope
I have a counter argument
The teachers union
And now to crit
The police union
Depends on what they're used for.
I was the thousandth like ^,^
Also gonna be the one to make the obvious angry comment that Monk is a bad move Technically yes it is a way to get a Claw equivalent, but I'd honestly chalk the claw weapons up to some kinda homebrew gauntlet weapon (Which question: WHY ARE THERE NO GAUNTLET OR CESTUS WEAPONS IN 5E). Or, mostly making that nots so obviously because the just generally better option would be to grab your last 4 levels of warlock and get life drinker + better spells. Though I guess at that point it'd be too similar to the hollow knight build
@Aquamarine Rose
actually there ia work around , sort of , that being getting Eldritch Claw Tattoo.
Magical Strikes. While the tattoo is on your skin, your unarmed strikes are considered magical for the purpose of overcoming immunity and resistance to nonmagical attacks, and you gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls with unarmed strikes.
Eldritch Maul. As a bonus action, you can empower the tattoo for 1 minute. For the duration, each of your melee attacks with a weapon or an unarmed strike can reach a target up to 15 feet away from you, as inky tendrils launch toward the target. In addition, your melee attacks deal an extra 1d6 force damage on a hit. Once used, this bonus action can't be used again until the next dawn.
@@chongwillson972 A fair point, that seems to fit the lamb concept pretty well for claws. Though the issue that your hexblade can't use them with hex warrior is annoying
Also an addition, in terms of D8 hit die Dex based Martial classes, I'd personally suggest Rogue over Monk for the Lamb.
Though you lose the Long Death's Temporary Hit Points, you gain in exchange...
- An extra skill (I think?)
- Expertise in 2 of your many social skills. Decide whether you want to rule through Love, Fear, or even Both by going from a Great score to the Best score in the game on either of those skills.
- Cunning Action, which is basically both Step of the Wind and Patient Defense put together into a single class feature.
And then you can choose whether to just stay at the 2 levels, or jump up to 4 and grab Phantom Rogue to grab literally any 1 skill or tool proficiency per day (Helpful in doing all the menial labor you for some reason get into) and a like.. d6 of extra free damage to a second target per turn which acts a LOT like necromantic weapons even moreso than how the others work.
Time for a cult following
I know we have Lara Croft, Indiana Jones, and Rick O'Connell so far.... HOWEVER, I believe it's only fair to now make a Nathan Drake build.
*sees true strike* disgusting
First. This is a new one.
Congrats for having notifications on! Remember to hydrate!
Ay congrats 🍾🎉 you really are first
TULOK PLEASE DO A CUSTOM CLASS OF THE "MUD WIZARD" FROM THAT CRAZY VIDEO, LIKE JUST LOAD HIM UP WITH EARTH AND WATER MAGIC AND SOME WAY TO MAKE THEM BLEND TOGETHER.
And YET ANOTHER comment as I come back to this video again... You joke about playing a Crown paladin, but honestly in terms of making a hexadin, The Lamb would be better off with Conquest or even as an Oathbreaker rather than the crown.
So, shadow blade is a sword of made of psychic energy that is created by magic which was given to you by the magic blood pack you made with the magic sword, and your telling me that sword I just summoned doesn’t count as a pact weapon. Seriously, if you’re DM doesn’t let shadow blade act as your pact weapon tell them to take the stick out of their ass.
Wha...bu...it's a spell!
It's not a weapon at all, really; it's the manifestation of a spell. I don't think it's actually capable of many of the pact weapon features, and would you really want your pact weapon to be unavailable until you cast one of your extremely limited spell slots?
Since you usually base True Strike on weird comments you get, was there really someone trying to argue in favor of cults and against unions in the comments? I wonder how that would even come up.
Possibly someone who was anti-union compared unions to cults, similar to how racists and bigots try to compare the Black Lives Matter movement and the LGBT+ community to terrorists.
@@arcticbanana66 In this comment section though?
🐑 🐑
Am I the only one who has no audio?
Happens sometimes. Back out of the video and go back in
Nope don’t care, any build that includes true strike gets put back on the shelf
I'm willing to bet that when he runs into the OGL wall, we're going to see some repeat characters done in other systems.
Also, it's sad that you piss on Monsters on the Multiverse because of shitty lore that wasn't worth keeping from Volo's due to WizBros proving themselves unable to be trusted with ANYTHING thicker than a tissue paper lore-wise, and the bigoted lore of the past is not worth porting...since "muh lore" is the ONLY conceivable reason you don't use MotM where applicable.
Please PLEASE tell me Bruno Bucciarati is still gonna happen ⚰️⚰️⚰️
