Anselm's dictum: Credo ut intelligam I believe that i may understand.Goethe was a contemplative. Hence he was able to discern spiritual things, which is an intuitive intelligence. Newton and Einstein were very very clever at proving things mathematically, things that Lao Tse and Goethe saw intuitively that would late be proven by physics and maths. You present this theory in a most enjoyable and instructive way sir. many thanks indeed. i am v grateful that you placed the text on line; i will now try to go through each diagram and paint the experiments as a prelude to further work. Gratia.
I'm sorry I haven't read it lately. Nor perhaps embarrasingly Schopenhauer's 'On Vision* and Colour', which I guess Goethe condisdered too* Idealistic. *tired typos.
Yes, Heisenberg has written and lectured on Goethe, Newton an modern physics, as has also Walter Heitler. The specific issue of ideal colours was most prominetly treated by erwin Schrödinger in 1920.
It is such a relief to hear that the Theory's of Newton and Goethe are both parts of a whole light system. For many years this has perplexed me. I have used clear Quartz Crystal points to create another natural spectrum using sunlight. The quartz crystal creates a spectrum containing the purple plus two greens due to the 60 degree angle of the hexagonal crystal structure.

this is very interesting - great examination of both light & dark spectra in relation to wavelength theory. thxu for this. 🙏 🌈
I have been looking for something like this for years

I remember (I'm sorry to say not latey, or specifically) Werner Heisenberg covers this in 'Philosopical Problems of Quantum Physics'
