*Thank you* for the teaching of colors It helps me to visualize the images as night (black) into day (white) and then, day into night. Sunrise or dawn, would be red and yellow. Sunset, dusk, cyan and blue. White into white, magenta. Black into black, green.
P.s. As an excerise. At 6:41 match the left side of the lower right image to the right side of the upper right image. And, also, the right side of the lower image to the left side of the upper right image to give a straight line of the in between colors.
For a supposed "classic in the field" it's very odd that three of the four volumes have never been published in English, even in Goethe's collected works. It would be great if you could do something about that!
A new explanation on how light gives birth to colors (based on Goethe's work). newtheories.info/community/light-and-colors/ or www.quora.com/How-does-light-make-colors-appear/answer/Mitko-Gorgiev
May I ask what is the Goethe theory of colour. To me this should be called “Goethe observations of colour” . Where is the theory? This is called approach in the title. What does it mean? How do you transform this to a thesis that can be falsified? Thus a scientific theory?
You are right. Problem is, there is no english word for "Lehre" -- The titel "Goethe's Theory of Colours" was given already to Eastlake's translation in 1840. I would say "Farbenlehre" is more of "Teaching about colour". One may of course have theories about specific phenomena, e.g. the reddening of the setting sun. Or the blue shadows sometimes seen on the white snow.
at 8:25, on the first frame of 8:25 actually, their is a unique slide, which only appears on this one frame. it says "an outline of a theory of colours 1810" kinda strange but whatever it is their. Edit: it is the same slide that starts on 9:01

I wish the German minds were still leading the world. The Anglo obsession with empiricism is holding everyone back.
At least they're leading in music technology
Thank you for this absolute gem Sir.
