- McDonald's Global Sales Decline for the First Time in Over 3 Years | Vantage with Palki Sharma
McDonald's has reported a surprising drop in global sales, marking the first decline in 13 quarters. As persistent inflation impacts consumer spending habits, many are opting for more affordable food options at home, leading to a shift away from higher-priced menu items like Big Macs. This trend has also affected other fast food giants like Burger King, Wendy's, and Taco Bell, which are now leaning on value meals to attract customers.

Great news to people's health! 💖👏🏾
Agree! Finnaly i hope more people eat more fruits and veggies
people will move to cheap street food so not completely true
The average cost per person of McDonald’s is $13-$17..You DAMN right it’s a “Luxury Item”
That price for 2 pieces of bun with vegetables/meat and cheese in middle is too high ,U can eat a lot in most Indian restaurants for that money
@@113uineoIndianisation of the west sucks there is quality of life too
Its $3-4 in India ;)
@@sanchit7089 yes but income is how much that way ? 1000 dollars that too if u r on a good portfolio
should not be more than 3-5 $ though.
It used to be called fast food because it was quick and cheap. Now the thoughts of eating it make me want to fast.
Service is terrible, no matter you eat from
So now it's a proper fast food.
Takes over 20 minutes to get your food fasting seems to be a better option 😂
Luxuriously priced and processed to the point of toxic.
One Reason is Health Concerns across the world.
Im from Indonesia, Ive been boycotting McD and KFC for a year... I feel way healthier now, and my acne skin gets better
McDonald's yes, but KFC? Can't live w/o it, in moderation that is meaning twice or _maybe_ thrice a year.
@YouCantHandleTheTruth jai hind.
Speak to yourself...worst country indeed, cigarette allowed everywhere without restriction for minor age, children having Chronic Kidney Disease...
Well done! Refuse to put rubbish in your mouth however well salted and spiced it's disguised!
@@johnson6684 where did you get that informations from? Haha... Come and see for yourself... Try smoke in public or restricted areas...
They are changing high prices but the taste is not good enough.
But worse still! -! You could end up wanting a hip or knee replacement and you still only in your sixties or younger! Eat fresh healthy home cooked food
Not because it’s too expensive. We’re more health conscious as a society. McDonalds & Cocacola and all other junk food has ruined out health in the states.
people don't have so much money to spend these days. even in the UK, so many people were living on 1 meal a day. food inflation around the world is not lost upon us either.
As someone who works in Middle East being expensive is the main reason to think I’m not a regular customer like in 2023 I think I had been to KFC let’s say 3 times only? This year maybe once? Everything has gone up. We all know they are not healthy choices, but it WAS nice that they were affordable when we need a quick fix.
americans are more health conscious as a society? today is not 1st april.
If you're more 'health conscious' as you say, then how come Indians continue to consume so much sugar? India has the highest rates of diabetes in the world, and the amount of deep-fried food that Indians eat causes cancer due to the release of aldehydes from cheap cooking oils!
You are wrong. Subtance abuse ruined USA 🙄. no wondee it is no. 1 in homicide rate of the world 😏
It's SAD when you can eat in a nice Hotel Restaurant for cheaper than McDonalds! The GREED is real!
Apparently stale/cold food, poor customer service, and high prices are not a recipe for success.
And that's before you get to the fact that Indian McDonalds put TRIPLE the amounts of salt, sugar, and transfats in their Indian products as would be allowed in the equivalent products in Europe and the US.
Not to forget
Funding genocide and war crimes apartheid
Sorry but this is a western problem, mc Donald in countries where they cook, is just a treat. Also with inflation, people need to go back to certain practice of the past, which are healthier, eat at home, cook, don’t eat for leisure, let it be a treat instead. Might increase their health overall
Good point. I’m fasting more often now as an American.
You don’t think it’s a treat to us? You people can’t be that slow!! People are not buying the treats!! That’s what they saying!! You people take everything out of context and act like you got the answer! They don’t have the answer and it’s the y business
You sound like you from a 3rd world country!! This the USA 🇺🇸
R u out of ur mind ?
Agree. This is a first world country problem. In developing countries, fast foods have always been expensive and most of the time, a treat, or consumed for special occasions.
Such a clever way to present the news. They are not in loss. They just didn't make as much profit this time😂
It’s not just the price of the burger but the service sucks. If you order at the drive thru, 60% of the time you end up waiting in the parking lot.
Thats good. i went there the other day and found out that they charge for bags now. I couldnt believe it. If you dont pay for a bag and you're in the drive thru they'll just put your food on plastic tray and tell you to grab it. I wont be going there again.
Jai hind
Last time I ate at this place was in 2010 or 2011 and never went back.
At least it's good for the general health
Really pleased! Well done. Keep avoiding that place! This month was my 20th anniversary of avoiding eating there. I used to eat there 5 times a week until 2004 July
There were days, we used to get Burger or Burger meal within Rs 100-150. It’s almost double now & ppl definitely see alternative as it’s not pocket friendly. They market saying, they have offers on Veg burgers but when asked they say it’s not available. Poor strategy
Mcdonald's made 14.6 billion dollars in profit in 2023. 1% drop in sales equals about 11 million dollars.
So give me a break they are far from hurting.
Your still way better off cooking at home.
Be well...
Bro your math is off. 1% is 146 million which is quite substantial
@@YYLiow Thanks, my math never was that good.
You need a hard stomach for McDonalds. I've been cooking my own meals for years, recently had a McDonald's because my kids were nagging, and that crap went straight through me.
The Americans subcontracted their kitchen to McDonalds and other entities of their ilk. During the pandemic, they had to stand in food queues. Now, they are discovering the virtues of their own kitchens. Go on! It is healthy.
Direct result of corporate greed.
Went to McDonald's with a family of four and spent close to $80!!! Never again.
Blessing in disguise. Health metrics will see instant improvement.
interesting
Part of it....is they raised minimal wage. Its no longer cheap. Its $15.00 for an average meal. Andvits $15.00 an hour for employee's.
It's high time an indian company builds an indian healthy food brand which can become the next big global brand
India and Pakistan and Sri Lanka have McDonald’s not Bangladesh due to poor infrastructure and lack of education and investment.
They have shrunk the meat patties down so much that you're basically paying for over priced bread.
Good.
Yes, GOOD! The food is so unhealthy. Maybe the obesity rates will now begin to drop.
i love this news channel
Good thing the cost of goods hasn't gone up over time. Like the cost of fuel to transport goods, or the cost of raw ingredients, or even minimum wage. I think its outrageous that we cant buy a big mac at the same price as 20 years ago. It all comes down to corporate greed.
Thank goodness I have various IN-N-OUT nearby where I live here in SoCal..
Very good news..this shows how people are struggling
Zero nutritious food shouldn't cost this much, road side boile eggs and boiled chickpease has much more nutrition
Great
In UK, there used to be ‘pound saver’ now the same items are 4x more… even child meal is now same price as what adult meal was around £5
Did anyone think leaving the russian market might reflect on sales 🤔
MAGA
McDonalds is a luxury now. Prices are ridiculous now. Why buy McDonalds when prices are almost like chick fille, for example, or other real food places.
MaDonald's gives you little to eat and you pay a lot. It is a Reap Off
But it's v tasty
Reason is Boycott. Keep it up, people.
Dollar for dollar, it's cheaper and healthier to cook your own burgers, fries, and make your own drinks at home. Bison, beef, turkey, or chicken is a better choice, air fryer fries, and homemade sodas, tea, or water.
they pulled out Russia now they got the reality check
Make veggie macdonald with fresh recipe. Change the menu . For competitive price.
It's expensive in my country at 10 bucks and above. Finally!!! Get to see pp boycotting it
And what must they eat?
Inequalities are rising
I really didn't mean too....😂😂😂😂 My friend monitors inflation through Big Mac Prices(Too much commodities to give a clear indication) and I monitor it through Donut (Wheat and Dough, Oil and Sugar prices) prices
#ShhhhSecrets
People are more health conscious now. It's just that, check the fast growth of protein powder sales, gym memberships should be all time high.
Great news but we are hardly affected because this is a western problem 🎉
First, they are expensive. Second: they always mess up simple orders. Prices are up, quality and service is down and people are struggling with much higher cost of living when salaries aren't following. People are becoming wiser with their earnings.
When will the dollar crash
MAGA
It would be absolutely wonderful for the numbers awaiting in the hospital waiting lists if fewer people are eating nasty oily fast food and buying healthy options.. Heart attacks and obesity will fall!
good news ...
Thanks to food vloggers, people learned to eat right and buy right. McDo really need to reel again its customers by lowering their prices.
Whatever happend to the large size Big Mac meal priced at $5.95
I remember a combo being 4.75$
As for India McDonald was always in slightly expensive side was a luxury not fast food.
It's not quick and it's not cheap anymore
Feels like post pandemic inflation, let it come down things might change
Tasty's in Russia has tried to replace McDonalds, but Russia has one thing that McDonalds does not have. It is quite a difference between Tasty's and McDonalds and that is that a State run fast foods does not have to make a profit and in capitalist economy the Business entity must make a profit or they have to cut costs or even close their stores. So, in the US the consumer is also in a pinch financially, but going to McDonalds can be a cost savings. You have to value the convenience of getting food that you did not have to make, and that is a value of not going to the grocery store and making lunch or dinner. So there is value in that. Covid19 was the culprit to the struggling fast food industry. Even now Covid of some mutation is circulating in the US, just ask Biden. But we brave the risk for some fast convenient food. Which fast foods will survive? The ones that can rekindle consumer demand. I make an effort to support the best fast food brands, but some brands will fail, too many now with a shrinking population due to covid and the dying off of the baby boomers. Birth rate does not support a future need of so many Fast food services.
as a hardcore mc d guy from hyd i can surely say one thing ... those guys def reduced quality and quantity a bit
Not only McD, in many restaurants food prices were doubled.. and crying why sales declining..
How rare, corporate greed BENIFITING the people. 🤔
Burgers and Fries are expensive snacks at this point, proper food is cheaper and more healthy plus people on the Internet are also promoting self made meals at home so yeah Mc Donalds will have to recalibrate
not price, but price to quality is the issue, for me atleast
Unhealthy, size diminishing, price skyrocketing……no worries, just avoid them
Wow 😮😮😮
It doesn’t matter about nutrition but what people want.
Its not the price. They are leaving McDonalds becuase they listened when Handcock said "Yeah... Well You Need To Sue McDonalds Cause They "F'd" You Up" to the over-weight guy. They left and went to WhataBurger instead. You can eat a WhataBurger Hamburger and have a salad left over from the burger. Just shows how much ACTUAL vegetables they put on their burgers. Combo meal at WhataBurger 8 bucks
Soon McDonalds will be surpassed by Jollibee from Philippines.
Taking out a second mortgage for a burger 🍔 is a luxury move.
McD’s should ask for special dividend from Pharmaceutical companies!!!! 😂
I can see why they lose customers. They raise their prices I think it's ridiculous this for a hamburger is Three dollars
Cant even remember the last time I ate at McDonalds
Too many better options out there when it comes to fast food. Eating McDonald’s and Burger King food is like eating carpet. On top of that they brought in automated menus and took the human factor completely out, which was completely stupid because people go to restaurants to be served not standardize menu and pick what you want and have some robot take the order. Why go to a restaurant if you are not being served.
The executives at McDonald’s need to be replaced as their thought process is stuck in the 1980s and 1990s as they prioritize big box retailers standardized business models and the executive also been drinking way too much of the Elon Musk Kool-Aid when it comes to robots and automation
Mc Donald's in India is losing to burger King who has better capture Indian market.
Mc burgers don't fill you up. Compare mc spicy to bk whopper same price double quantity. It's an easy pick .
I could easily afford to buy mcdonalds everyday, I just don't want to. There far more tastier and healthier option out there and if I am ever in the mood for burgers there are FAR better options.
Fast food should be fast and not expensive. Thank God I don’t eat it. Ridiculous
The food is usually cold service sucks can't even say thank you very unhealthy now expensive? Sales are down duh!
Them loosing the Russian market which accounted for 5% of global sales would hit the bottom line. Go figure.
I think healthy food is a luxury and more expensive compared to the fast food
They should b boycotted and it's actually illegal to b doin what they r doin among other fast food chains as well price hiking and supply n demand is ridiculous and they know better come on 40 bucks for 2 meals and if use a delivery service for mcds no can make more money if go back to original prices like was 20 yrs ago the way it made it n USA when they first opened for a a decent meal a good fair price for families not ripping families off so stop supporting them they've got greedy n vanity not what they say they r like used to b shame on mcds
It doesnt even taste good. Its convenient & at the current price point it's no longer convenient.
I cook, they didnt get much from me, nor is it something that affects my life.
They told their employees to stay away from fast food right😂
No longer fast food....and extreme poor quality
Killer food .keep it
There are a dozen much better burger places than McDonalds/Burger King in my area. There's cut throat competition from local brands.
Listen, McDonald's of the past was a fast and cheap option, but as for food quality, it was probably the last fast food place I would eat if money was no object. As 15 years ago my family of four could eat for roughly $20 bucks. Now I'm lucky if two of us can eat for that, but it's still the same crap food, with the high pricing of every place else. That being said, every place is over charging, and why I rarely eat out anymore, as it's just not worth it.
Comeon it's resource control
They’re the ones who introduced fatty foods in the first place. Get rid of Maccies!
McDonald facing recession mainly due to Haza war
Good news, I have never had a mc donalds
3:36
Why should I want to eat mc when I could get more quality food with lesser price?
it's not that it's a luxury item, it's that the world has become poorer.
Not when the health problems mc donalds food causes threaten yer life
Totally evil and resource control
Not Fast food but i dont really understand western food,Western food is most boring, lazy food they don't know meaning of cooked food not much process goes into it like salads, burgers, pizza, milk shakes etc ,There is no full fledged process like it is done in Indian subcontinent countries, Japanese, Middle eastern food etc West is not much developed in food issue and i dont why people eat pizza very much i ate eat 3 times in my life 2 times from local bakers and once from dominnos i expected it would be like shown in ads cheesy etc it was simply a dry bread with toppings not even spicy.curry pufs ,Samosa,Kachori lot better than pizza
Samosa can't be tastier wake up this is resource control we just keep on getting worse in india due to permanent job, ops PPL
Am a vegetarian, never ate at yak MC DONALD'S or any western food brand outlets. Dumb food makes people dumb 😂😂😂
Vegetarians are weak, And suffer from stunted growth. On average they live shorter lives and suffer from weaker immune systems and and weaker bones, slower rate of cell regeneration etc. Don’t promote your nonsensical unscientific diet. Consuming eggs and meat is required for healthier stronger and taller body, this is the reason why asians on average have been shorter and weaker than europeans. Many asian countries like japan have gone from pure veg diets to full meat diets because of this, its time we change and adapt meat as well.
Orange juice with 3 pancakes 11 dollars lol
Food wasn't suppose to be luxury. For me Mcdonalds, dominos are all luxury brands since childhood.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
