It wasn’t spicy really at all! A tiny bit of heat, but I’m a wimp about spicy things, and it was delicious to me! Maybe cut back to 1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon if you’re nervous.

I got overwhelmed with FB and YT (and life!) and stopped notifications and visiting her sites. I had the cookbooks and had done keto forever so I felt like I was all good. When I got curious and went back recently, I saw she had revamped some of her recipes and had a new approach. She also seems to be releasing her new books from her website and/or FB as ebooks...
Made Chef Michaels recipe as I discovered long forgotten bourbon in the liquor cabinet. I recommend making sure the sauce completely reduces down as it made all the difference in the world. Awesome recipe!

I have a funny story about bourbon chicken which I've had once and love. This happened in 2001 at my church. We were having a banquet for the married couples on Valentine's weekend and they were having bourbon chicken and none of these people were drinkers. The assistant pastor's wife always plans these events. They were making a bunch of it and she kept putting bourbon in the chicken thinking there wasn't enough. Everybody loved it, but some of them had a buzz when they went home. I went home early because my head was spinning. 🤣😂

Made this tonight and it was a hit! I made the chef-Michael recipe. Personally I will tone the sugar down next time. 🥰 but it was so easy to make. I had all the ingredients already. A winner!
I made a keto butter beer based off of How to Drink’s butter beer video (which is amazing, go watch): Keep in mind, these are my choice of ingredients for my personal taste, so adjust them to your need and desire. Almond milk (I used unsweetened but use your preferred milk): 500-700ml 3 cloves Nutmeg: 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon: 1/2 teaspoon 2 or more thick slices of unsalted butter along with any other fat/MCT of your choice A stevia/erythritol mix: any amount you desire Boil altogether until all have melted. Whisk an egg or two in a separate bowl until the white is gone and we’ll mixed with the yolk, and using a a table spoon or something bigger, slowly and gently add the boil to the egg, a little enough so that the egg does not cook in the bowl and continually whisk until the egg and the boil are on 1:1 proportions, but to be safe, 1:2 which you can then pour the egg:boil mix into the saucepan, and continue to cook, the egg should not scramble at this point, nor should any eggy formations. If for some reason you don’t have egg, or want to play it safe, double cream is a good substitute. If done correctly, you’ll have a decadent butter drink that feels like a milkshake. In theory, you can add any flavouring besides cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon, and it is recommended this be saved for winter, but if you want a summer drink, try a fruity flavour or experiment with flavours, just replace the cinnamon and cloves and the nutmeg respectively with flavouring of your choice, you can have them warm or cold. I realise it’s not beer because there’s no ale in it, but alcohol is not keto, so it’s more like a keto milkshake. Any input would be nice

I've made Maria's with swerve but wasn't in love with the cooling effect. Guess I will try these both with allouse. Thank you Wes! Chicken thighs are on sale at my local Kroger.
@@robertedson2374 The sweetener erythritol (one brand name is Swerve) causes most people to taste a minty "cooling" effect. Have you ever chewed mint gum or eaten candy mints that then would make your mouth feel cool when you inhale? It's kind of like that. A minty cool may be OK in desserts, but not in savory food like chicken. If you have any erythritol sweetener, eat a big spoonful straight and you'll see what we mean. Larger amounts used in recipes make it more noticeable.
I watched the enchilada swiss video and then this one. I noticed in older videos you had a more relaxed pace and it truly felt like a chatty, old fashioned cooking show (i loved it) In more recent videos you’re going a lot faster (feels like you’re in a rush to get done). Could you go back 😀

I tried this and it really was delicious. I mixed the recipe ingredients based on my pantry contents and went with the quicker marinade and cook version. Very similar to Australian sweet n sour chicken from my childhood. I halved the sweentner and will again next time as it's way too sweet for an Australian keto palette. I added capsicum mushroom carrot and brocolini half way for a complete meal

My absolute fave is Buffalo Trace. Second would be Maker’s Mark. (I like “wheated” bourbons for their vanilla and caramel flavors instead of the spicy “rye” based bourbons.)

I’m more of the glass of Champagne for Christmas and New Year’s and a gin and tonic twice a summer with a couple of glasses of wine at Easter and Thanksgiving kind of drinker. 🤣 But I love cooking with wine and spirits and I’m a firm believer of cooking with what you’d drink. The trouble comes when you don’t know what’s good to drink! I think you’ve solved my problem!
It is funny that you mentioned that the second chicken bowl was a clean one; because it did cross my mind. But, I had faith that you would not cross-contaminate! LOL
I just made Marie recipe. It’s good but I’ll buy low sodium broth and tomato sauce next time. And drain the liquid after cooking the chicken - it took a while for the sauce to thicken.

Saves me a ton of trial and error and I can tell by the look on your face when your 'burnin' yer face off' which one is for me. A little tough with the bourbon chicken since they both sound great. Hope to see more savoury recipes because frankly I just make a quick mug cake or something if I REALLY need something sweet. I don't like having a whole batch of anything sweet calling my name from the kitchen. Maybe that's just me but making a satisfying, wonderful entree is more suitable to my needs. Hello, thank you for another great video. Yours is my favourite keto cooking channel. I have been wondering though, will you at some point make a keto pasta battle? I suppose the sheer number of recipes might be off-putting or it just might not interest you. But if that's not the case and you just haven't gotten around to it, then please please please do. I'm sure a lot of us would find it extremely useful. I haven't made any keto pasta yet, because I'm worried it will just be a waste of ingredients. That being said, no pressure, just make whatever you are inspired to make. We appreciate the work you put into these. Thank you so much. You inspired dinner! Bourbon chicken for the whole family. I used what I had on hand so I combined the recipes. Mostly Maria's recipe but with G Hughes ketchup and Allulose. So freakin' good!! 😋 Added fried cauli-rice and broccoli florets. The whole family wants this on rotation. Thank you for sharing these recipes from websites I had not seen before! Love & hugs to you.

I made this at home for my wife and kids, they loved it with a side of broccoli! I used scotch, and it tasted great.

Made this tonight and it was a hit! I made the chef-Michael recipe. Personally I will tone the sugar down next time. 🥰 but it was so easy to make. I had all the ingredients already. A winner!
I made a keto butter beer based off of How to Drink’s butter beer video (which is amazing, go watch):
Keep in mind, these are my choice of ingredients for my personal taste, so adjust them to your need and desire.
Almond milk (I used unsweetened but use your preferred milk): 500-700ml
3 cloves
Nutmeg: 1/4 teaspoon
Cinnamon: 1/2 teaspoon
2 or more thick slices of unsalted butter along with any other fat/MCT of your choice
A stevia/erythritol mix: any amount you desire
Boil altogether until all have melted.
Whisk an egg or two in a separate bowl until the white is gone and we’ll mixed with the yolk, and using a a table spoon or something bigger, slowly and gently add the boil to the egg, a little enough so that the egg does not cook in the bowl and continually whisk until the egg and the boil are on 1:1 proportions, but to be safe, 1:2 which you can then pour the egg:boil mix into the saucepan, and continue to cook, the egg should not scramble at this point, nor should any eggy formations. If for some reason you don’t have egg, or want to play it safe, double cream is a good substitute.
If done correctly, you’ll have a decadent butter drink that feels like a milkshake.
In theory, you can add any flavouring besides cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon, and it is recommended this be saved for winter, but if you want a summer drink, try a fruity flavour or experiment with flavours, just replace the cinnamon and cloves and the nutmeg respectively with flavouring of your choice, you can have them warm or cold. I realise it’s not beer because there’s no ale in it, but alcohol is not keto, so it’s more like a keto milkshake. Any input would be nice

@@robertedson2374 The sweetener erythritol (one brand name is Swerve) causes most people to taste a minty "cooling" effect. Have you ever chewed mint gum or eaten candy mints that then would make your mouth feel cool when you inhale? It's kind of like that. A minty cool may be OK in desserts, but not in savory food like chicken. If you have any erythritol sweetener, eat a big spoonful straight and you'll see what we mean. Larger amounts used in recipes make it more noticeable.

I watched the enchilada swiss video and then this one. I noticed in older videos you had a more relaxed pace and it truly felt like a chatty, old fashioned cooking show (i loved it) In more recent videos you’re going a lot faster (feels like you’re in a rush to get done). Could you go back 😀

I tried this and it really was delicious. I mixed the recipe ingredients based on my pantry contents and went with the quicker marinade and cook version. Very similar to Australian sweet n sour chicken from my childhood. I halved the sweentner and will again next time as it's way too sweet for an Australian keto palette. I added capsicum mushroom carrot and brocolini half way for a complete meal

My absolute fave is Buffalo Trace. Second would be Maker’s Mark. (I like “wheated” bourbons for their vanilla and caramel flavors instead of the spicy “rye” based bourbons.)

I’m more of the glass of Champagne for Christmas and New Year’s and a gin and tonic twice a summer with a couple of glasses of wine at Easter and Thanksgiving kind of drinker. 🤣 But I love cooking with wine and spirits and I’m a firm believer of cooking with what you’d drink. The trouble comes when you don’t know what’s good to drink! I think you’ve solved my problem!

I just made Marie recipe. It’s good but I’ll buy low sodium broth and tomato sauce next time. And drain the liquid after cooking the chicken - it took a while for the sauce to thicken.

Saves me a ton of trial and error and I can tell by the look on your face when your 'burnin' yer face off' which one is for me. A little tough with the bourbon chicken since they both sound great. Hope to see more savoury recipes because frankly I just make a quick mug cake or something if I REALLY need something sweet. I don't like having a whole batch of anything sweet calling my name from the kitchen. Maybe that's just me but making a satisfying, wonderful entree is more suitable to my needs. I have been wondering though, will you at some point make a keto pasta battle? I suppose the sheer number of recipes might be off-putting or it just might not interest you. But if that's not the case and you just haven't gotten around to it, then please please please do.
I'm sure a lot of us would find it extremely useful. I haven't made any keto pasta yet, because I'm worried it will just be a waste of ingredients.
That being said, no pressure, just make whatever you are inspired to make. We appreciate the work you put into these. Thank you so much.

You inspired dinner! Bourbon chicken for the whole family. I used what I had on hand so I combined the recipes. Mostly Maria's recipe but with G Hughes ketchup and Allulose. So freakin' good!! 😋 Added fried cauli-rice and broccoli florets. The whole family wants this on rotation. Thank you for sharing these recipes from websites I had not seen before! Love & hugs to you.
