Thanks for mentioning the alternative to pork rinds! We’re Muslim, so pork is off the table. Coming from the Midwest, when you remove pork and carbs from your diet, you can pretty much kiss restaurants goodbye. 🤣 Now we live overseas where all the food is halal, but keto options are scarce. Might as well just cook at home and save on carbs AND money. 😉
Keto options exist but it's hard to eat out (in Texas). I just rather cook than hurt for days/weeks from arthritis & inflammation from eating unknown seed oils and hidden sugar. I have to tweak the menu items so much they taste terrible. Hint, most restaurants use fake butter (margarine) and say it's butter and staff have no clue what they serve.
Where are you living now? By your name I’m guessing you are from MN (?) I lived in Minneapolis as a kid (Navy Dad move) I agree to wanting an alternative to pork rinds.
@@arbonneladyTN I’m from the Mankato, MN area but lived in Minneapolis for over 20 years following college there. live in Abu Dhabi now; my husband and I teach here; he physics and me English. He’s Filipino and is from the town where the U.S.S. Narwhal was stationed-is there a better name for a ship?? 😍
Ok, ladies!!! This was one of my fave vids y’all have posted!! Excellent idea doing the chicken recipe roundup!! You oughta do the same with ground (or whatever type) beef and another with shredded pork! I fix a “taco meat” at least every other week that I keep in the fridge for nachos, tacos, rollups, etc. In a huge iron skillet I brown together a pound of ground beef, a tube of chorizo, and a tube of breakfast sausage. It is so good and already seasoned. It also takes marinara sauce really well so Ive even made tortilla pizzas with it. I also cook a pork butt for shredded pork pretty often too, so a roundup of pulled pork recipes would be awesome as well. Maybe its just me that does this every paycheck? Im not a huge fan of cooking so i try to cook whatever I can ahead so I can be lazy and just pull out some pre-cooked whatever for a meal!
One of our favorite chicken dishes is Crack Chicken. I also made pecan pesto the other day, used that on top of 5 chicken breasts seasoned with garlic powder, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, smear softened cream cheese, mozzarella cheese on top in a glass Pyrex 9 x 13 dish @ 350 for 40-45 mins.
You can also use egg whites as a tortilla as long as they are not "whisked" you can break the white so it spreads more and fry on low and let it dry a little. they are tender to a point if you cook them past the tender point they hold up well.
If folks are complaining about cauliflower rice and they aren't putting it in a skillet with butter and cooking it, then shame on them :) We eat cauli rice all the time :) You just have to make it taste great :)
Me too! If we are having curry I throw it in the pan with a little oil for some flavour along with some garlic powder, turmeric and cumin seeds, tastes so like the stuff from the restaurants. I don’t think people are cooking the shelf stable or frozen rice long enough to make it dry and adding seasonings for over the top flavour! One of my favourite side dishes is cauli, such a versatile vegetable!
Great ideas! Our family has always mixed cream cheese and salsa for snacking growing up and today. I mix salsa, cream cheese, quesadilla cheese and chicken. Spread on a low carb tortilla and roll up to make pinwheels. You can add any taco toppings too. We dip in ranch or guacamole. Blessings!
I think the trick with chicken is to use plenty of herbs and spices no matter what you are making. I’m low carb and not keto but keep my carbs below 40, I love using based out chicken breast, coating it with seasonings cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and some turmeric, take some ground almonds flour and put a little on top pat it all in and fry in a small amount of oil either olive or avocado until browned. I don’t need any binder for the seasonings and crumbs to stick, the dampness of the chicken is good enough and when it’s done it’s so so succulent, juicy and flavourful! I love serving it with roasted turmeric cauliflower. Yum yum!
@@joane8651 tumeric is a herb/spice and is extremely good for you. .. I cut up my cauliflower into small/baby potato sized pieces, put it on a roasting tray and smother it in olive oil making sure it’s coated and then use ground tumeric powder to sprinkle over it before putting it into the oven to roast until golden. I turn the cauliflower pieces during roasting to ensure it cooks evenly and all of the pieces get good colour.
I didn't even get to the 2 minute marker, because my jaw dropped at the Keto Xchen Nuggets! I am super excited to try that. I made your keto orange xchen just this past week - however did not 'bread' the xchen. It was a pleasant surprise and quite delicious! I do miss the Asian dishes I used to eat! Thank you, Sarah and Emily for your continued honest, real, and supportive content!
I made the Chicken Florentine Chaffles this week and we LOVED them. I can’t even express what a joy it was to have an actual sandwich, and we used leftover rotisserie chicken which made it even easier. Love your channel - thanks for all the fantastic ideas you share!
Any of the Thai curry chicken dishes are easy to make keto. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The other day, I cut up some deboned chicken thighs into strips, seasoned with salt, garlic and onion powders, and smoked paprika. Added some low carb bbq sauce (I have a HUGE container of Natures Hollow Honey Mustard BBQ sauce)and Truvia Sweet Complete brown sugar. I left it in the fridge for a few hours till dinner time. Then I air fried the strips on 400 for about 13 minutes (till 170 temp). They were so good, and smelled so delicious, that my 12 year old granddaughter came out of the room to investigate. Now she asks me to make it for her. Definitely a new fave.
You know, there is a Keto Twins Recipe Book that is just waiting to go viral. I would sure buy it. Just a thought... Thanks for your inspiration and advice. Cheers.
For years I've been making cheesey chicken enchiladas with cream cheese, salsa and chicken wrapped up in tortillas with a cheese sauce on top. Love them
The absolute best fried chicken breading is using unflavored whey protein powder, season it just like flour and season your meat. It's indistinguishable from regular fried chicken.
So appreciate the recipes you share here and the fact that you try them out first. I have the canned chicken from Costco and was wondering what I could do with it. Love your channel. Thanks!
Try marinating in Italian dressing instead of pickle juice. We even used to do this in Korea where the meat was tough but instead of marinating it for one to two days like we do in the states we would marinate it for 3 to 5 days. also it gives a good flavor.
My brother and I always love your tips and tricks. Thank you so much for sharing. We Tried the LMNT, I found it kind of Meh. But my brother loved it and I think it is going to make a great stocking stuffer. 😊🥰
I did try those cream cheese poppers in the air fryer instead of deep frying. A few blow-outs, but overall good. Thanks for the chicken ideas! Going to do the taquitos next.
What about chicken crust pizza, keto chicken Alfredo, keto chicken pesto with either noodles or as a pizza or wrap filling. Breaded with pork rinds and Parmesan or almond flour and make a buffalo sauce, easy chicken salad keto wrap or sandwiches, soup with chicken, chicken quesadillas, chicken tacos, chicken cauliflower fried rice, keto garlic butter noodles with Parmesan and grilled chicken, grilled chicken salad, chicken stir fry, keto fried chicken and chaffles, stuffed chicken, chicken roulade, chicken cheesesteak filling, and people who use sugar replacements could probably make chicken teriyaki, Mongolian chicken, bbq chicken on a bbq grill…..
Love these recipes. I would ❤️ to see you guys make Pinche Nancy's keto corn tortillas. Give us the taste test and also see how they fry up for nacho options. Thanks!!!
