The "OTA" updates is such a HUGE freaking quality of life update. I just wish for crying out loud other people would realize this. I don't understand how my desktop Linux pushes updates in my background and rarely even requires me to reboot but we can get a simple download/update OS update on these systems.
MUOS is my favorite. I see everyone is asking for Bluetooth, and while I really want that, I also want a box scrapper more than anything. It’s so annoying using a box scrapper on a PC.
I don't mind it so much, I honestly prefer doing stuff like that on PC, but having a single manual option for whenever I add in a game or two would be nice, I guess.
I just got MUos today, after two days of ripping my hair out, I would reload everything, nuke it, change to a different update, N64 would run for a few runs then jitter and act like total hammered dogshit. The stock anbernic firmware is so bloated and screwed up, putting REFRIED on it cuts out a few features, but the games run like a dream!
Hi VladNerd, I got to know MuOS thanks to your videos, and I will never stop thanking you for it. MuOS keeps getting better and better. All that's missing is the Bluetooth fix, then it will be almost perfect for me! Even if the update system remains as it is, it's better than having to nuke the SD every time. I don't want to be part of the G7. Haha. Ciao, fratello. EDIT: I just installed Baked Beans on my RG35XX-H, it was super easy, quick and most importantly, all the content remained intact. A standing ovation for the MuOS Team.
Another benefit of the new d-pad/thumbstick swapping feature is that it essentially gives you an extra 4 buttons to map controls to. This can be super handy when playing DOS games, since many DOS games assume you have loads of buttons to spare as you would normally have a keyboard.
My entire use of that requires an HDMI cord to connect to a TV which I don't have for the device yet, so fortunately it doesn't bother me too much that they're lagging behind on that feature, _but_ hopefully we'll see it soon enough. They're pushing out updates at a pretty excellent rate.
Really looking forward to the day i will be able to use some bt earphones with my HH, but i can see as well how a pair of wired ones adds to the retro experience 😂
Actually before headphones they should implement external Bluetooth controllers support (flawless on stock fw). Having a perfectly working video out is kinda useless without external controllers (I guess wired controllers or wifi controllers work through otg? In any case it's not the same)
How does the battery offset setting work? My RG35XXSP charges up to 89% 4.07V and the charging light stays on so I'm not sure if it's overcharging. Should I change the offset to 11 or is there something else that I should be doing?
I used the SFTP function on the RG35XX Plus to transfer the update to the device wirelessly... even CLOSER to an OTA update. I didn't even have to eject my card. Just transfer, install, and reboot. Super easy!
I’ve got muos and knulli on cards that I have been bouncing back and forth to see what I like. Updated muos last night and still having trouble with final burn stuff. Knulli has been pretty rock solid for me and I will most likely stick with that. All that being said, I love being able to bounce between different os’s and tinker with this thing in addition to gaming.
So glad that so much has gone into this OS for the RG35 line of handhelds. When and if I ever upgrade from my MM+ I will definitely pickup a 35xxh again
Bluetooth controllers with the hdmi will make my H perfect. I always like Batocera’s presentation but MuOS won me over with the performance and features
Hey Vlad As a new to retro should I go for 35xx-H or 40xx-H ? I feel I won't understand the screen difference since I'm new to this but is the hardware upgrade worth it? cus m concerned about the 40xx-H heating issue.
As much as thumbsticks would be amazing, I don't think its doable in a clamshell unless you want shallow ones like thr psp go. Otherwise you need to thicken the top part and recess the screen for the sticks to have room when closing.
I feel like it's just me but I feel like MuOS never works with SMB and Syncthing. I got it hooked up to the internet, made sure the services is enabled and I can't connect. Tried it at two different locations. I was able to ping the device but whenever I try to connect to Syncthing via a browser or to the SD Card via File Explorer on Windows 10, it just doesnt work. It works 100% fine on Batocera/Knulli but I can't get it working on MuOS which sucks. I'd love to have them both set up so I can swap between the two without much hassle.
Great video. Its 100 degrees here in Tennessee in the US. I have a question though. Is it just me or is anyone else that is using the scraper to add box art having an issue with certain systems not showing box art after skraping. I get playstation to show up but cant get nintendo or other systems to show up. Any ideas or help would be great thanks.
Hey man so I have a question about MuOS. Do you need to manually configure which core goes with which systems? I've read the Official site but I just find it a little confusing
When they input a ftp server I will install MuOS. Don't want to retrieve my SD card to transfer my games anymore 😢. By the way I didn't even talked about the Bluetooth for my gamepads
The Lords of the Handheld have answered our prayers here, the installation process was muchhh easier and straightforward with this update. Could you maybe do a video about the management / backup of save files / states and how to keep them between differents systems or emulators, with compatibility issues and so on.. and more generally retroarch options and submenus? I don't think there is a lot of content about that. Thanks dear Nerd. 🙏
You spent a lot of time here mentioning youre glad for none destructive updates, which is fair. Sadly it was confirmed that Banana will actually be a reflash, reason being that it changes core functions that cannot simply be patched. Im confident they will go for the Archive Manager method whenever they actually can though
Vlad, I'm excited to see you share all your precious settings now that I can set everything the way that works best on the RG35XXH without worrying about losing it all when I have to nuke it to update it 🎉🎉🎉
I installed baked beans but after the install my screen goes black every time I exit the configuration screen. Also when I enter and exit advanced settings . And when I turn off and turn on the sp from sleep mode and set startup to resume game. Only way to get my black screen back again was to close the lid and turn it back on. That was annoying. Do U know what could be the problem that causes this on baked beans ?
Okay update I redownloaded bake beans and reflashed card with refried then baked beans. Then rebooted after baked beans and seems to be working I'm in muos nirvana now !
