The color is indeed a wow statement… I admire a solid wood piece because the longevity is certainly there. Bleed-thru will be bleed-thru - thank you for showing how to re-do. Trying something new like those half circles really brought the dresser to a different level. It looks amazing! I would’ve gone with a pop of color versus neutral tones… Thank you for sharing the journey, the mishap and the correction. It’s great to have friends in the same field whose expertise you trust. I enjoy watching both named creators as well. 🌷 God bless.
love the buttons and the color! just beautiful. I might have thought about adding round ball feet to add some legs and more interest. But, I still love it!
WOW! I am so surprised at how much I love this piece! I would probably never paint something so large with that bold of a color but it looks stunning! The half circles are such a great addition and surprise I bet this will sell very quickly! Thanks for walking us through the trials you had with this piece. Love the education you bring to each project.
I’m not brave enough to use bright colors so I usually go conservatively. But I sure do love seeing the beautiful furniture that can be created with color. Maybe I’ll get brave enough one day.
Another beauty ❣️ I love the color! You asked what color we would choose… I tend to go neutrals, because I am not adventurous! But the design and color really work for this piece, no surprise, Kara! ❤️- Jill 😘
Another amazing flip. Glad you got through it. Never know what you’re up against until you start a project. Turned out great and love the ball additions. Happy Mothers Day to you.
Hello… I’m curious about the comment that clear shellac will crackle? I’ve never experienced this and was just wondering if it will happen over time, if it always happens, or if it’s circumstantial? Any insight would be great. Thank you
Hi Cara! I love Wanderess colour! Great choice and the piece looks wonderful now. I think I would have chosen drawer krobs a tad larger for this piece. MeanwhileI admire your determination to chage on through despite the setbacks. :-) Great job! MQH
I love the quality of your work and also the style of your creations. That color has just the right amount of sassy. You mentioned an artistic channel you follow. Can you post the name or a link? Thanks again
I used clear shellac on a pine piece to prevent the bleed through from the knots in the wood. This was on a large jewelry box and it crackled…I just went wilth the look like I meant for it to crackle. Now I know why. I wonder why you don’t remove the knobs before you clean. thanks. BTW this updated piece now looks high end! Happy Mothers Day!
My father In law thought me a trick where you can just use a coat of clear shellac to stop bleed through. He was a professional woodworker and furniture maker for years. It’s a great tip.
I typically do not like "painted" furniture, but this was not a fancy chest of drawers to start with. Nothing special about it other than the nice drawer layout. You really gave it a new life and upgraded the original. I can imagine it in several "non-bedroom" spaces.
Hey there. I've watched a few of your videos. I love what you come up with, but it also pains me that such beautiful wood gets covered up. Do you always paint everything, or do you ever show off the wood?
Hi Kara, I have been binge watching some of your older posts. This one takes the cake. Just the height is a challenge to start with, having to climb to paint the top. I loved the half circles, nice effect and the paint colour was what this piece called for - something different. Please check you emails, I don't know any other way to talk with you direct. Thank you and stay safe. Luci H. Clifton Queensland.
I think I saw what happened with the bleed through. Before you painted drawers, there were some spots where it looked like you sanded the primer and the dark stain was showing. Maybe would have helped to hit those spots with primer before the paint?
Hi! To find Kara's community page, tap on her channel's name:Lemon to Lemonade. This will take you to another page. On the new page, scroll down, you'll find a list running from left to right, of stuff like videos, playlists, shorts, etc. Scroll to the left on same list and community will come up. Tap on community and you will see all that is going on there. Good luck!
u r doing all the shellac thing wrong... first shellac...two coats minimum...let it dry in between coats 24 hours..(this is key).then your regular primer... let dry for 12 hours...if bleed thru comes out...apply another coat of shellac ...let it dry for 24 hours and then apply the primer...let it dry 24 hours...no bleed thru showing then paint.
I'm disappointed that you painted such a nice piece. I would have rather seen you strip it completely and stain it., or at least stain the drawers. Now that you've painted it, the color is nice but it's missing something. Perhaps the half spheres should have been painted an alternate color? The half spheres should have also been carried onto the bottom. And I would have liked a different drawer pull. Not liking the knobs. They are just too small. It's just a lot of that color and it needs to be broken up.
I'm sorry, but I started reading the comments as soon as I started watching the video. From the comments I know you painted it. Then I saw you take off those trim pieces. While I like a lot of the pieces you do I can't watch this one.
Happy Mothers Day weekend! What did you all think of the paint color?? Would you have chose this or gone neutral ?
Happy Mother's Day to you too!
Loved color!!!!
I think with more people adding color back into their homes that this was a great choice!
I loved the color, it was the half spheres I was stuck on. Good job
Love love love the half circles!!!! I am an originalist and hate to see the original history of a piece lost but it turned out just stunningly!
Gorgeous i love the color and then you added those half balls. I see why everyone wants your pieces they're so unique. Thanks for sharing
Thanks so much 😊
A carefully crafted and beautiful redo of a sad looking piece. Love the color!
Thank you so much!

Aww thank you Julie! Appreciate your comment
Neutral!! Love the neutral colors!
The trim is fantastic!
Love to see the amazing transformations. Always WOWS . Learn alot from you too.
I lean towards naturals.
But beautiful color.
Thank you so much!
Very pretty! Kudos for playing the long game on the bleed through problem.
Thank you!
I want those wooden half circles!
Modern Jenny Lind, I love it!❤
love the buttons and the color! just beautiful. I might have thought about adding round ball feet to add some legs and more interest. But, I still love it!
Agree about the ball feet

Thank you so much Jill :)
Love that color, I'm getting ready to paint a tall dresser that color. Thanks for the tips on painting, so helpful! Happy Mother's Day!💐💐
You are so welcome! thank you!
Nice color choice. A bold color v.s. the usual beige, gray, or white
TFS!
Another amazing flip. Glad you got through it. Never know what you’re up against until you start a project. Turned out great and love the ball additions. Happy Mothers Day to you.
Thanks so much!
My favorite color-almost matches my bedroom walls!
Would love to see you do an entire bedroom suite sometime :)
Happy Day!
Also, I’m a tech idiot…where do I find what you sold this for?
I. Love it. I did notice though where you sanded primer on the drawers, you didn’t go over it again with primer before painting colour. X
I love it. Nice unique piece of furniture. I’m sorry it didn’t behave for you. At least you had decent weather. Happy Mother’s Day!
I know this one was a pain in the @$$ but I think it’s my favourite Lemons Flip yet! The beads and that green are perfection.
She’s waiting for you my love, head south and come get her!! Lol P.S. im literally watching yours now!
Hello… I’m curious about the comment that clear shellac will crackle? I’ve never experienced this and was just wondering if it will happen over time, if it always happens, or if it’s circumstantial? Any insight would be great. Thank you
It’s just this particular paint on top of the clear shellac. I don’t have the issue with other brands.
Nice color , I love that green ! good job !
LOVE the color!! Everything turned out great! Very pretty! Happy Mother’s Day!
Thank you! You too!
very nice touch with the detail.
Love it!
Thanks!!
Love the color and the brass knobs. Good job
I love the color on this. I think it would have been cool to carry the circles down to the bottom of the dresser as well. Happy Mothers Day.
I love the color! The new details are super cute.
Thank you so much!
Hi from France ! And thanks for the beautiful flipping and the tips ☺️👍
Hello!! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for being so honest with the process.!

Love the finished look Kara! A great idea using the buttons! I’m going to have to try those on one of my plain dressers! Happy Mothers Day! 🥰🥰
All the prep you did, turned out amazing.

So beautiful 😍
Thank you! Cheers!
Love the color
I hate when I get bleed through. I prefer a white or light blue . It turned out great. Prayers and Love ❤️ From Oklahoma
I love the color!!!
Happy Mothers Day to you.
Sorry about all the bleed thru but it turned out beautiful. Good color.
Thanks Donna!
So, did you just prime the drawers again with the same shellac? Or did you use another kind? Beautiful and Happy Mothers Day! ❤
I love the quality of your work and also the style of your creations. That color has just the right amount of sassy. You mentioned an artistic channel you follow. Can you post the name or a link? Thanks again
Just linked it! Sorry I forgot to before!

Sometime I leave them on if the drawers are a little sticky and I think they will be hard to get out. If im not filming ill take them off and clean.
I’m working on a real similar piece
My father In law thought me a trick where you can just use a coat of clear shellac to stop bleed through. He was a professional woodworker and furniture maker for years. It’s a great tip.
Yes that is what I used in the spray can but was told that it would crackle under the paint I chose. So back to the white primer.
Do you know why it would crackle?
It’s just this paint that has the issue
Turned out gorgeous love the color! ❤.. You didn't put Courtney's steel birch studio in the link, I can't find it.. Thank you
Added! Thanks
I love the color. But I've used clear shellac lots of times and never had it crackle.
It’s the paint I’m using on the top. It doesn’t mix well.
How many coats of primer did you originally do? 2 or 3? Thank you
2
It is very pretty as it is, but I wondered if you had considered putting a base on it to lift it up off the floor? I wondered how that would look.
I typically do not like "painted" furniture, but this was not a fancy chest of drawers to start with. Nothing special about it other than the nice drawer layout. You really gave it a new life and upgraded the original. I can imagine it in several "non-bedroom" spaces.

Do you ever talk about the sprayer you use?
How does anything bleed through three layers of shellac 😮😱?!
And does shellac always crackle?
I heard it was the shellac and type of paint not being compatible!
I think I saw what happened with the bleed through. Before you painted drawers, there were some spots where it looked like you sanded the primer and the dark stain was showing. Maybe would have helped to hit those spots with primer before the paint?
I noticed that too.
It might be mahogany -which bleeds and bleeds. Looks nice at the end, though!
And bleeds and bleeds… lol
@@LemonstoLemonadeFurniture Yup!
Love the color! Not a fan of the doo dahs.
Sometimes you mention your community page. Where can I find that? I don’t know what a community page is.

can somebody please explain to me if you're going to be sending off everything what's the point of cleaning it before
If there is any grease or oil (finger prints/heavy polish) you will grind it into your finish.
u r doing all the shellac thing wrong... first shellac...two coats minimum...let it dry in between coats 24 hours..(this is key).then your regular primer... let dry for 12 hours...if bleed thru comes out...apply another coat of shellac ...let it dry for 24 hours and then apply the primer...let it dry 24 hours...no bleed thru showing then paint.
Yes, I’ve tried that in the past but it crackles
Did she mean “highboy?”
Why not remove ALL THE DRAWERS???
What does that mean?
I'm disappointed that you painted such a nice piece. I would have rather seen you strip it completely and stain it., or at least stain the drawers.

No worries! See you next time!
Pet peeve, please look at the camera not yourself.
I’m looking at a full screen on my phone. I don’t know exactly where the lens is.
Love the colour!
Thanks Cliff!
