This sounds good, and not just as a Rickenbacker 'homage'. There's a lot of snobbery around pickups, but these Artecs do the job. If I wanted the sound, but couldn't afford 'the real thing', I doubt whether there is anything better.(Certainly far better than the Shaftesbury copy I bought back in the 1970s.)

Always love your reviews - wonderful playing and awesome tone. I wish you would list the signal chain though as your recorded bass tone is stellar. It sounds like there's at least some compression and I wonder if you do anything else post?

Wow, this bass sounds amazing! Great playthrough; thank you for showing such a variety of tones. Was this recorded with the stock strings? And were there any adjustments you made to the bass prior to recording it? I hear a lot of people need to raise the neck pickup.

I just got it yesterday and I actually had to lower the neck pickup just to get it to match the bridge pickup’s output

For me this is a lightweight compared to my HB JB-75 vintage jazz guitar that weighs 6kg....back and shoulders are killing me...

Hey, whats the difference of tones between RB-414 and the classic RB-414CS hollow body, is it different timbres? And which of the two is more similar to the original 4001 / 4003? Thank you!

You have to take the whole pickup and surround off to get to the cover. It’s a lot of work, but it’s completely worth it.

@@AllbeeHivezChristianAllbee There's two screws that hold the cover in, it looks like anyway.
