This guy's playing is the best example demo I can find out of about 8 different players. This guy's no beginner,do wish he'd speak or comment abit though.I purchased one of these basses, based on this video. (Sorry, I couldn't resist putting that in btw). Only difference was I bought the 'Creme coloured bass' for a change & I do honestly prefer the colour. I've owned a Fender active PB bass with maple neck & 4 strings in the same blue colour way back in 1985ish and fancied a change which I traded in an active 4 string G & L Sunburst bass for. And this HB bass blows the Fender & G&L out of the water in every way!!. Especially for the price!. So, these foreign made instruments (Indonesian) are a steal & great bargain for the price. Theirs quality differences, but the bottom line is the overall price sound & playing ability of the instrument. I also own the Harley Benton versions of their take on the Musicman basses too.(Again, I've owned originals).Again Harley Benton knocks them out of the park and further & further away! And I'm an English guy living in the UK. I've played bass and guitar since the 60's. I'm in no way shape or form affiliated to Harley Benton or Thomann. I stumbled upon their website through googling a search for a Les Paul way back in 2015 & now own a substantial amount of Harley Benton guitars & gear because of the great value & quality of their products. I, can't finish without mentioning their (Thomann) aftersales service which is second to none and their incredible delivery service. Happy playing, everyone!
first of all i would like to renew my compliments to you, you have a really nice touch and sound. I have to say that this Harley Benton model is gorgeous, it really makes you hungry. Wow !! 👏
How much setup (intonation, string height, neck relief, etc.) did you have to do after receiving the bass to get it ready for shooting the demo video? Or are you playing it "as received" from the factory?
I'm a little on the fence with this particular bass. I love the way it looks and the features that comes with it. On the other hand I really don't care for the bridge pickup. I'm not really into purchasing at bass guitar to modify it. I still think it's a great price for the looks and features that you're getting.
Bass Bonedo, can you please tell me the measurement of the nut width? I’m seriously planning on getting one of these and it’s very important for me to know this exact measurement for the comfort of my hand
I just got a mj-4eb which cost £280 given the extra import tax and UPS handling. Overall pretty good but like a lot of HBs the frets are protruding a bit which might be a bind to file given they are SS. Tuners are deffo a bit meh and the knobs are pretty tacky. Also it seems the bass and treble are by-passed in passive mode. The bass and tone in active mode are too harsh on max/min but okay +/- 50%. Other than all that it's still a very good bass for the money but if you were to only buy one bass you would be better getting the SIRE V3 from Andertons which would be cheaper post Brexit.
Been listening to at least 30 different basses on this channel... And they all sounded the same... Seriously... With eyes closed can't hear any difference between high end and low end basses...
Very true plus, most amplifiers or pre amps have low and high tone adjustments to make up for the $1000 you saved by buying one of these. I'd also bet that the drunk in the audience who is about to puke down his shirt and smash his vehicle into a police car will not know this is a $300 bass. Just saying. If it stays in tune and plays good, it can be made to sound good for most uses
Brilliant playing, excellent relaxed technique. Bassists could learn a lot just from watching you demo instruments.

That B -string sounds full and killer! 5-string basses at this price range usually sound awful on the b-string...overall greay value for money
Wow. Bin soundmäßig echt beeindruckt. Harley Benton mausert sich ja richtig :)
amazing playing
Beautiful guitar at a great price.
Nicely showcased, thanks for posting.
great review without talking !
That tone for that price? Wow 😮
Fabulous demo. I've seen you did the demo of other Enhanced basses for the Thomann website. What is your favourite? Thanks!
Well done!

At this price range and with excelent quality woods and hardware you can always upgrade the bridge PU without breaking the bank.
Hi there,
Is this instrument a good combo with "cheaper amps" like the line-6 spider 20-watts - a last design flfl speaker or something?
Thanks
This bass sounds great and so does the playing! I'd like to know what brand/model the bass in the background is -- another Harley Benton?
Goes to show you: a good player can always make a cheap instrument sound good.
If you had to choose, would you buy the HB PJ75 Vintage or this one? Thanks!

Cheap Sandberg(?)
How much does it weight frankly?
About 11 pounds!
That is Bass. Bass must be 5 string!
Great appointments on this bass but the pups and preamp are useless.
