Follow along as I make a tool to help mount these huge slicks that are used on a top fuel dragster, and Funnycar. From thought to conception to production in just one week.!
You've never put up a boring video Rob, thanks for making them. Absolutley loved the "lets front end a dragster series" (not sure how many times ive watched it) Would love to see you build a new chassis if your up for it! Thanks again.
Awesome solution Rob. And please, next time bore us with your welding. We like seeing the actual process of your projects as well as the finished product. Mike
For context, an F-15's landing gear max speed is 250kts. So a dragster is traveling faster (for a second or two) than what would potentially damage our landing gear aerodynamically.
i once ran across an F1 rear tyre walking the streets...totally worn down, but since it was also an Eagle this reminded me of it...wanted to make it a table or somesuch, but got rid of it in the end... thanks from germany!
Great video.......very interesting and informative........give us poor plebs that rarely get to enjoy the nitro experience some footage of a 3 second pass instead of just teasing us with the tire torture !!!! LOL
Crewed for a World of Outlaws Sprint Car Team on and of for a year...Mounted and Dismounted a lot of tires...Its a pain but the beads were nothing like these...
If you can throw parts on the table and have them become an amazing tool, why can't you throw down a tire and rim and have it become assembled? Curious minds what to know! Oh yeah, Great tool!
Great video rob, Nice to see your posts again,I know your really busy but its fun to see the innovations you come up with All innovations must pass a simple test Do they benefit man kind and are they unique. You get 100% on all of yours!
Kee in touch as an industrial tool designer I really like the tools you make Its rare to see someone that understands tool design Particularly Edisons First law of inventing The best design is the simplest one that works ! Keep up the great work and stay in touch
330mph+ in a short distance and a short amount of time no less. Just think if there was an open or unlimited class. Run what you brung. Or if the rules weren't so restrictive. No 500 cubic inch limit. Or run any tires. Or be able to use turbos and nitrous.
Those would be great for off road beadlocks too. Is the bar between the different sides of the wheels was adjustable you could fit different diameters of wheels and a bigger market.
Chicken shit😂😂😂, just kidding. Your device is kinda a derivative of what we diesel mechanics call a Gold Bar for doing truck tires. It’s basically a long bar with 2 fingers to pop the tires off a single piece truck rim. You think doing tires on your race car is tuff try off road mining equipment. Like 30 X 33.5, split rim - 5 piece. They go a lot bigger but the same setup is the same exactly just 60 inch dia rim 20ft tire diameter. A 20ft diameter truck tire is 30,000.00 dollars not including mounting and balancing-ha , ha. By the way , have a great day👍 from a old retired gear head😃👍
@@robwendland in my case you’d probably win big time. My body is to busted up from working all those years. The advantage I might have is my threshold for pain 😂😂🤪but I try to avoid that to🤔🤔
Yeah using front end loaders to get enough force on the bead to break it loose. Then wrap chains cuz the tire too heavy to even lift one side of it. Some of those big wheels can be a real party! Looks like Rob has this job figured out pretty good though. I love those bead locks.
The speed doesn’t amaze me, it’s the torque the tires and wheels handle and you never see a failure. Incredible.
Racing fabricators always come up with the coolest sh!t.
I've been a Drag Racing fan my entire life, and I love these videos with inside information. That's an amazing tool, and I hope you sell tons of them!
For sure, Your videos are never boring Rob
Sure, appreciate that !

Rob, you are a freaking genius!!
Appreciate it!

Thank you bud!
look who's back :)
Thanks from England + I could have watched a bunch of welding.
I will get back at it!
VERY COOL TOOL...
That’s one awesome table… you just drop stuff on it and it welds/paints everything together. Where can I buy one?
SO SO GTSY ROB..GREAT IDEA..STAY AWESOME..
Love it!
Can’t say I miss the ‘full manual’ way vs the mounting jig JFR has (had?) lol :)
#TeamMallet here lol.
man thats clever

Will do!
NitroRacer - Rolling Thunder Motorsports ... Rob, great idea. Good to see another video Brother, its been a while - Hutch
You bet man I got lots of contact just gotta get my butt going
@@robwendland Damn straight
Awesome tool. Seems like you should next make a good stand to raise the tire and wheel up to a more comfortable height to work on.
Nice order dude. You're going to sell a bunch of those
Where ya been Rob?! Good seeing ya! On to the video.......
👍🏾
You are so Amazing and Awesome. I am so Lucky ❤️❤️
No I am!

keep those gears turning. Thanks
Lol the struggle is real

It slides in the middle for different wheel sizes!

Nice solution, what do the boys at the Goodyear trailer use at the track ?
They do NOT mount bead locks!
They just sell them to you. If you're LUCKY, they MAY bring them to your pit, but usually you have to go to them lol.
I'm guessing this will work on a Sanders wheel too?
YEP have to change the two small wheels which comes with the tool.
How did polishing the cessna go?
Really well! I will get you a video going!
Rob, I need one! How do I get on the list? I just went through this deal. What a pain!

Would a sharp as in new blade on a deburring tool remove the crap on the inner bead lip?
It tends to dig in too far! It’s going to be more like a wood planner!
@@robwendland see what your saying. On the wood plane theme, what about a spoke shave?
I need one ! My sanders wheels we have on the super comp car are even more of a bitch then my deltas
Can do! Just change the wheels on the one side. Onetracksolution@gmail.com
Nah man show us the welding and how it works!!
would have been more efficient if you’re body weight applied the pressure. Maybe have a bar and cushion that extends too your chest??
It’s really not that bad!
The language you use... do know Tim Wudarszyke?
Sure do! Burned up some of the same asphalt with him. 🤣
@@robwendland I really like you're video's Rob, I would like to do some myself. Proud of the Lawrence boy. Good job.
An out of round tire is annoying at high way speeds I’d hate to feel that at 250-300 mph
Right?!

Can I borrow that table? I just want to toss my car on it and it be done.
Come on over!
Tires on the Mulsanne will do 230 plus for how many laps? Road racing will always be more impressive than going fast in a straight line.
