That is the coolest flaring tool I’ve ever seen!!! I’ve been in the Refrigeration industry for many years. We use 45° flares and I’ve made thousands over the years, but I have never seen anything like that. That tool is awesome. 👏 👏👏 I also have to admit I made many flared ends and forgot to put the flare nut on, lol😉🤦🏻♂️
I love all the neat stuff you are utilizing for your builds, the notch pipe mounts, electronics. I feel like I'm SHOPlifting for my car projects every time I watch your episodes. Kitty bonus! Great video Chris!
Well, thanks! I try and balance showing the work and talking about the work without getting too into the weeds. Great to hear you're enjoying. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I really hope to keep the weekly updates coming. It's a bit of extra work but I really want to document the entire build. Great to hear you're enjoying!
Appreciate how big you’ve stepped up on the engine control and power distribution. I’ve considered rewiring my Fox Mustang but balked at the price tag. Will be watching with renewed interest.
I love your garage. It must be awesome to have a big space to record in 👍 I always feel weird recording outside talking to a camera. That flaring tool is fancy 👀 I love it
I hear you on the "weird talking to the camera". I sometimes get very self conscious, usually at the start of a scene. Hope that doesn't come through too often. Thanks for watching and commenting!
26:50 how often did you forget to slide the nut and the other thing over the tube before flaring the other end ?! Looks like certain connectors.. I did that too often
If only I knew someone who could help... And now that you mention it, what about 3D printed replacements for the aluminum bulkheads? I'd LOVE to do something cooler than folded sheet. I'm a paying customer. Let's talk?
I'm not sure I really know what I'm talking about here but is your bulkhead perhaps a bit too flimsy for the hydraulic lines? Perhaps causing swishy pedal feel if the bulkhead flexes? I'm sure you know what you're doing and have far more experience than me. I was just curious. I love watching these build videos.
The bulkheads don't take any load. They just support the lines. The distance between the master cylinders and slave cylinders is a fixed length (the tubuing doesn't stretch), regardless of applied pressure. So the bulkheads simply support.
Hmm, I got this recommended on my feed this morning and I'm surprised that it doesn't have more views. The good news may be that as it has appeared it may get pushed to other guys like me. I have liked the vid and subscribed, as a UA-cam premium user, hopefully there will be a snowball effect for the Chanel with more guys getting it in front of them because it's being liked and subscribed to- does any of this make sense🤔🙂
Awesome - I really appreciate your support! I have no idea what magic sauce I should be using to drive views. In the end, this channel is about documenting m builds. I don't have the "make money" part turned on, I'm not trying to get sponsored, etc. And if the channel doesn't grow much, that's fine. Of course, I'll do by best to make interesting episodes and we'll see what happens. Again, really appreciate you joing me At The Red Barn!
Fuel lines inside the passenger compartment? Insanity. Absolutely not necessary and utterly to be avoided. To quote you: manufacturers do things for a reason. So there is a reason why fuel lines are external. SAFETY. Having a ruptured line in the passenger compartment is a recipe for disaster. I say this as a former fire fighter.
Understood and I do appreciate your comment. Not sure how well you may know 914s but from the factory, the 914 fuel lines run in the tunnel. I'm pulling the drive train and will likely make the update to run mine there, too.
Got my first 914 when I was 17 and have always loved them. All your process, parts and techniques are such a huge gift. Great shop, great show.
Wow - thanks for the kind words! Great to hear you're enjoying. Thanks for watching and commenting.

That flaring tool supports turrets that do both kinds of flares, plus double bubble. It's pretty cool.
That Haltech stuff is what dreams are made of. Dang! Glad to see the kitties are doing awesome 😎👍🏼
Agree! Haltech is nice stuff. Onto making it actually get this thing running!
Chris: I look forward to Saturday morning when I can see your latest stuff.
Hey Bill - thanks for the kind words. And for taking time to watch and comment. You need to come up and see it in person. I'd love to catch up.

Steal away - I do it all the time!
I am so enjoying this build. Love the detail you provide.

This build is getting exciting! Thanks for the frequent updates!
Yeah 😍 I don't know how he manages to put videos out so fast 😳 It's taking me weeks just to edit.
I really hope to keep the weekly updates coming. It's a bit of extra work but I really want to document the entire build. Great to hear you're enjoying!
Ha! Your content and edits are probably far better than mine!
WOW lots of COOL upgrades!! FANTASTIC!
Thanks Brian. I feel like I'm making some progress!

I hear you! It really is nice. No to make it all work!

Looking forward to the ECU / electrical programing!!
Me too! Early research has me pretty excited.
Fantastic to watch, thanks

Needs more custom 3D printed clips for those hard lines.

One entire episode and the only change of mind was a steel bulkhead changed to aluminum.
You'd think. Then a friend with a 3D printer reached out... Looks like Version 3 is in the works!

Interesting Radlok connectors! Are you also planning to use these on the battery?
Not sure as I haven't gotten to the battery yet. I'll see what's available.

Would have like to see the hard lines in the tunnel rather than on top.
Yep, me too. I may re-do everything once I get the drive train out and have a better idea of what it might take to do that.
😎👍
