Anyone who has done an engine transplant such as yours appreciates the knowledge and level of detail you share with us. Every Saturday morning, I can’t wait to grab a cup of coffee and watch your latest.
I actually look forward to Saturday mornings when you drop a new episode no matter how boring, 😂 lol. The wiring is very exciting to me and all the new tools that you show are awesome.
I have to admit, wiring makes my brain freeze. I am glad Chris makes these videos as the more I see the less my brain freezes when seeing car wiring. :)
Clean job. I like the details. I will start a LT transplant 914. I wish you had this level of detail on your other 914. I appreciate the detail of craftsmanship also.
I just found your channel looks interesting!! I have owned 2 914s when I was in my teens. Love these cars. Now we are rebuilding a salvage 458 spider. So your content screams to me. Our channel is new and ya kinda struggling but again our content will document the build for a future buyer. Cant wait to see project done. I just subscribed.
Welcome! I just subscribbed to your channel - so I'll get the opportunity to watch someone else dealing with all the Ferrari stuff! Best of luck with your build.
Still watching and your videos are informative. Just thinking about this and your intro my YT viewership is kind of like the conversation in the movie "The Aviator" where Hughes and his inlaws or girlfriends friends? are discussing what thet're reading and Hughes starts talking about Popular Mechanics and technical papers. Kind of sums up my YT watchlist.
Regarding the shielded wires, your way of dealing with the shielding at the connector means the signal wire is unshielded entering the connector. If this was a through connector, for example going through your firewall, you have the possibility of cross-talk on the signal wire even if you route the shielded portion through the connector on a different pin and reconnect it on the other side. So that begs the question, are there any connectors out there that allow you to route shielded wires through them and keep the shield integrity? Sort of like a miniature version of BNC connectors?
Fair point. There are other short sections of the shielded cables that are "unshielded" (a few inches at the ECU and at the sensors) and in talking with Haltech, as well as how the HPA wiring courses recommend doing it, the approach I'm using isn't a risk.
Watched til the end, but unfortunately can't hit the like button cause I don't want YT to put more wiring in my feed. Hope you understand. Kitty update might help with the numbers.

Hey Bill! You're too kind. Glad to hear you're enjoying the show. Hope to see you soon.

Great stuff. Like it. Stop apologising for what you do and show. Do your thing, we watchers like this.
OK, ok... Thanks for your support and encouragment. I'll take all I can get!

Hey Michael -It's like I said: Once you have a little experience, it's really not that bad. Glad to hear you're still enjoying the build!
I'm digging the wiring vids , because I have to do this as well soon. Thanks for the awesome tips!
Great tutorial. I’m going to redo some splices asap.
I'm impressed. Genius at work!
staggered splices is a pro tip, glad you called it out
And it so easy to forget to do it! Ask me how I know... 😜

Wow, an LT will be crazy! If you post your build, let me know where - I'd love to follow along.

I'm with you, my friend: Nerds and geeks unite! 😜

I think I speak for lots of car builders starting out like myself , Fuck that 😂.

Because laying in the wiring is so complex, would it not be wise to spray your color on the interior and fire wall?
I like to get my builds running and sorted, then pull them all apart for paint. "Make it work then make it pretty."
