- When you’re travelling from one celestial body to another within the 100 billion or so stars that make up our galaxy, which itself is one of 100 billion galaxies within the observable universe, it’s nice to have something to remember your place amongst it all. Interstellar hitchhiker Arthur Dent had his towel to remind him of home; perhaps if he’d had £220,000 to spend, he could have had this instead: the Patek Philippe 6102R.

If 220000 of us gave a pound each, we could all take turns wearing the watch
There'd be more complications than Patek's entire back catalogue.
lefroy1 id probably die before i got my turn haha
Yep, but then we’ve got to pay for servicing!
If £1 bought us the watch for one hour, we would have to wait 9,166.66 days or over 25 years for our turn to come round - and that's assuming 100% efficiency so it would have to work like clockwork...
We might be able to afford it, but there is a 25 year waiting list
I could sell my house and get one of these to look up at the sky from my new home in a park.
That’s what this video did to me.
Greeting from the Park, while wearing a nice time piece 🙃
Do it! 👍😎
LOL
@@ilove_dividend lol
The price is too astronomically high
Yes officer, this is the pun.
The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy was very satirical
What is astonishing to me is not only this man’s knowledge of the watches he presents, but of the incredibly detailed information during these presentations. This must require quite a bit of research for each video, and the channel keeps them coming on a regular basis. Bravo!
Video starts at 4:25
How the hell did patek research 25,000,000,000 gear ratios?
Incredible work of art
Patek really is the king
one of the most soothing videos
It would look unreal if the dial was covered in Vantablack. Would truly look like a window into the night sky
the red paint at 0:24 hasn't been applied properly, this would drive me mad if I spent 220K on a watch
Well the fact that it's imperfect is what makes it so perfect😏😏. Btw the small mistake is because the appliance of the paint was done by hand.
Lol bro, you seriously saying you could see that with your naked eyes?
muchas gracias I’m sure you can but that doesn’t matter. For the price of a house I expect the red tip to look as nice as my Hamilton. Seriously though, this watch is still absolutely beautiful.
@@muchasgracias6976 Won't you check these high-end level watches with a loupe??
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. Unacceptable at this price point.
For this price, this watch is nothing but the Name !
Maybe the best channel on UA-cam
I came for the watch I stayed for the poetry
Stunning creation.
This is still one of your best videos. 👏
4:20 is when he starts talking about the watch.
Ridicoulous.. but beautiful & mindblowing at the same time
This is art.
Video start at 4:50
You know a watch is expensive when you don't wind it for the video.
i missed the part where he said why the watch Costs £220,000...
Patek is made by a human and at its best. Rolex use machines to make their watches.
Straight up artwork.
How many stars do you want to have on your watch?
Patek Philippe: Yes
I'll take it.
Now that' a watch!
I don't understand.. painting a night sky on the dial with a average caliber... makes it $250,000?
Or - you could just Google the Watch and print out a circular face to size on clear sticky back plastic and "Hey Presto" whats the difference.
Rick - "I'll pay 22 pounds and that's me taking a risk here."
When you can't justify the price of a product, weave a emotional story around it.
You dont have to justify shit for the type of people that buy those
has to be one of the most boring reviews for an otherwise exciting watch even though the complication is useless
Never sells logic but sells emotion
You hit the nail on the head.

G-SHOCK GWG1000 can tell the time in all major cities and adjusts automatically with the atomic clock so it’s super precise and it can also tell you the temperature/Barometric pressure/Altitude and can also be a compass and is mudproof and waterproof for up to 200 meters and all for a fraction of the price of a Patek👌🏽
It's worth every penny
Needs a complication that jumps randomly to the number 42. That would be a watch worthy of 220K pounds.
They say that the one who owns this watch owns the stars as well...
next vid : PP 6102R full strip for servicing
Excellent video 📹
Another amazing watch ⌚ 👌
I want one for each wrist.
all right Sagan, but you didn´t explain how it works...
A fucking serious description and best one.
Great video!
If Rolls Royce was a watch
It's on my lottery list.
One of the most beautiful and innovative timepieces ever existed. Worth every penny.
I would like to see a jacet droiz palaine gold turbillion
just WOW!
The best Brand. Just that.
So lovely to hear Adam's words spoken so eloquently.
A work of art in every way.
The stars over the dark patch on that moon really bothers me🙄
Watches like this represent the epitome of mechanical art
His microphone is compressed as hell
£220,000?! Couldn't you just ask someone the time?
Something wrong with the sound?. A bit distorted.
0:24 Equation of time, perpetual calendars, minute repeaters, gyrotourbillon, astonish finish techniques...Obviously, the use of red paint in watchmaking is a technique that no brand has completely mastered, regardless of its prestige or price. I demand a generous discount!!!
Beautiful watch, by the way.
[Deleted], Lange HAS mastered the use of paint in watchmaking. That is one of the many reasons why Lange> Patek!
@@josephknecht4272 Can you give me a reference, please? :)
Hahahaha bravo!
And then some one will call patek philipe, haute horologie......
Hand made my ass, i watched pateks with finish that bad that citizen would be ashamed of on there watch.
That patek is machine made and hand finished, it is obvious that patek doesent make hands, they out sorce them.
I was scratching at my computer screen for a couple of seconds before I realized it wasn't a hair on my screen, it was your pfp.
@@im_bentongaming4193 Same. Really funny.
I think it is worth more than a million now
Please review Raymond Weil
Never thought I would see the day that Patek Philippe, Watchfinder and the Hitch Hiker's Guide come together. Well played.
Check the complication of Casio protrek moon phase
I never ever would have expected a hitchhikers guide reference on this channel and I'm sure glad I'm around to see it happen! Thanks for all the fish!
Thanks for explaining this so beautifully.
Arthur Dent did have a very expensive watch as described in Mostly Harmless:
---------------------------
Arthur was very fond of it. It was a better one than he would ever
have afforded himself. He had been given it on his twenty`second
birthday by a rich and guilt`ridden godfather who had forgotten every
single birthday he had had up till then, and also his name.
--------------------------
The watch had an annual calendar (at least - if not perpetual) with windows for date, day and month and a moon-phase complications (which makes it either Lange or Patek - it is not specified in the text)
And then this sacramental phrase uttered by Arthur's daughter Random (Frequent Flier Dent):
- Why's it all in hardware?
But if you think of it - isn't "being all in hardware" the whole beauty of a complicated mechanical watch?
And, yes, Patek Philippe 6102R IS a beauty!
My two favourite things- watches and stars in the same story . Wish I could give this more than a thumbs up. Brilliant.
Sweet vid
Review of Farer Oxley please!
Excellent narration and video work, as usual
So long, and thanks for all the facts
The only reason it costs 220k is bc a man convinced you that it does. The only reason for a watch that expensive is for rich people to say my watch costs 220k.
I'd love to see reviewed a Christiaan van de Klaauw whatch
My man just spent half the video rambling about the stars and Douglas Adams...
And then speedruns the specs
breathtaking is a word that best describes this time piece truly a horologist masterpiece
@footballcoreano nonsense... it's worthless
can you review the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Skeleton Double Flying Tourbillon Limited Edition?
And why do I need to pay $220,000 to know what the Milky way looks like on my watch?
excellent, you’ve done Douglas proud. He was way ahead of his time......
Patek Philippe; “eat my dust smartwatches”. This is at the level of the Mona Lisa or any Van Gogh.
Lange & Sohne is a wonderfull watch, a piece of art as well. I can understand your opinion
the story itself costs 219,000
the actual watch 1000
The accuracy is more astounding than the watch itself. No two ways about it.
This is not a timepiece, but it is an incredible feat of human injenuity and mechanical engineering brilliance. A beautiful breath taking piece, and eloquently demonstrated and explained. You have no rivals Mr Watch Finder 👍 Tam.
But... Where was the wrist shot?
Beautiful watch, but that kind of paint job on that moon would be considered unacceptable on even a $100 watch. And the worst part is I noticed it before the close up on the moon. It would continue to annoy and haunt the owner of this watch.
Watching the video Lying on my bed looking out through the window and thinking what a watch and moreover what a view!!!
That some of the stars are "star shaped" (five points) gives the face a somewhat naive look. The face overall has a blobby and imprecise vibe to it. If they put a fraction of the precision from the movement into the face (as they have done with other watches). That said, I like that the effect of having stars at different heights. Overall, cool concept, but the execution is less than I would expect from this brand.
Your narration is on cue everytime. This watch is the ultimate holy grail for any watch enthusiast . Whoever has it on their wrist must be in extasy. Lucky buggers !
whats is the best watch?
Breguet Type XXI 3810TI/H2/TZ9 vs Blancpain Bathyscaphe Chronograph Flyback 5200 1110 70B....
I am from Nicaragua and I admire your work in the world of watches .....
How could anyone thumbs down this????!!!!!!
Sol is not little. Sol is larger than the considerable majority of stars. Evidence suggests Sol is more stable than most of it's kind, which has been of great benefit to humanity.
Bruh I'm 50% in the video and i haven't heard a thing about the watch itself
What a great video. I love you Watchfinder!
That's a flex right there
Guardians of the galaxy team should get this one....
Can you please review a Bovet?
the blue one is mid but this makes me bust, omg its so fucking nice
An excellent piece of micro engineering, worthy of the price being asked. Watches like these are exceptional pieces of mechanical art, and clearly the movement for this watch must have taken ages to research and eventually manufacture. This is one hell of a complication which explains the cost along with the manual construction. This isn’t your average mechanical timepiece, this is something very special. 🙏❤️
But does it tell the date?
Dream watch🤩
As a stargazer this watch is nirvana.
the scripts for these episodes are... well... masterpieces. What a great watch too.
U forgot to tell that E=mc square
Well it's not how I thought I'd spend that amount of money.... But....
