First time with both Su-27s in the air at the same time. We tried to fly close together. Thanks to Jason for hand launching and giving us proximity guidance during the flight.

Looks like great fun, formation flying is really difficult to do, especially well.
Lead plane needs to fly super smooth at a healthy & steady throttle setting (not full power as the wingman needs to be able to catch up) making sure the turns are smooth and entered & exited slowly to make them more predictable for the wingman. Corrections need to be small and the wingman needs to use the throttle nudges to maintain position, another thing the full size guys do is to select two points on the lead aircraft to line up so have markers to get that neat 45 degreeline to the rear and the side.
When the planes move around too much you're forever chasing your own tail so to speak.
Anyhow it looks like you both had a lot of fun doing it and you had some nice moments together :)
It's hard to do in FPV but it's fun to do on a cheaper model. You would love the gaming graphics and design world bc I do.

Just got my SU-27 a Couple of days ago. I’ll get some FPV gear in it then we could have a go at 3 in the air at the same time ! Cheers Nick

If reasonable height then not much of a problem but with iNav I could turn on stabilisation

Hey did you build this su-27 rc jet yourself like a diy or did you order it ? How much does it cost ? Also how do you record ? Do you strap a camera to the jet or is the camera built in ?
It's a DJI O3 camera and I'm wearing DJI FPV goggles when I'm flying it. The jet is an XFly Su-27.
