You forgot to point out that Timeless River Sora in Smash is a bit younger, same clothing but younger, probably due to the fact that they wanted to use KH1 Sora as a base for all of these costumes.
As a die hard fan of the Steamboat Willie cartoon, seeing Sora's P5 costume was like receiving a gift. I also love the fact that Sakurai may decided to include said variant and the Valor and Wisdom forms like a callback to the Disney Trio, like he was saying "Ok, we can't use them... HOWEVER!"
In gameplay the respective party member disappears while Sora is in the corresponding Drive Form. This is the case for the sake of game balance. Lore-wise Sora is just drawing more strength through his connection with that particular ally than is usually the case to access and maintain the Form which has no weird or adverse affect on them. This is clearly shown in the cutscene that introduces Drive Forms 4:23 where Sora enters Valor Form within the scene while nothing happens to Goofy as well as every single scene afterwards where Sora remains in whatever Form he's in throughout the scene if he was in one when the scene started even though the corresponding Party member is present.

I found all Sora costumes so cool, my favorite to use Dream drop distance. I really like how you explain each outfit and Concept Art of Sora which I found it so interesting.
Sora's palette swaps are almost perfect. I'd just have added the yellow Master Form from KH2, the green Blitz Form from KH3, Rage Form from KH3, and Xion's armor from her boss fights in 358/2 Days. As for Timeless River Sora...he might have been added as a reference to the Classic Kingdom minigames in KH3, since those were styled after LCD games, like the Game & Watch games also were, and of course, G&W is in Smash. ...Only reason I can think of since the costume feels out of place as a choice.
I wouldve liked a palette swap based off of Neku from the world ends with you, especially with 3D Sora! since they made a guest appearance in that game!
I would change like this 1 - KH1 Sora 2 - KH2 Sora 3 - DDD Sora 4 - KH3 sora 5 - Timeless River 6 - (based on KH2 Sora) RoXas (All clothing is back, eyes change to RoXas colour and the hair turns blonde) 7 - Keeps the same 8 - KH3 Alt - Riku - The clothing is based on KH3 Riku and the hair turns gray.
And when he does a dash attack holding another sword he spins the keyblade behind him (idk how this is relevant cuz I didn't play KH but ppl always mention it when saying your fact so I thought I'd add it too)
While it would be cool, I could get why they didn’t, as I guess it’d veer too closely into Disney properties territory. The thing that I’m more disappointed about is that the keyblade doesn’t change at all (except for Timeless) from costume to costume. The default costumes can sorta get a pass, but the forms look rather odd when it’s still just the default keyblade being used. Edit: Also, no added KH1 Cloud costume for Cloud. That would have been _so_ fucking cool…
Sora’s costumes are probably my fav of them all. Not a single one I find meh. Really my only nit pick is show they all use the same KH1 hair for Sora and kinda off, but I know modeling that was probably difficult to do, so I understand
Something I noticed in Sosa's timeless river alt is that he isn't using the shoes and gloves from that appearance that looked more classic but instead monochromatic versions from his other alts
Not that sora needs it, but I do have an idea for alternate costumes for him. In Kingdom hearts, Sora’s appearance changes in some worlds (Halloween town, space paranoids, pride lands, monsters inc.) so why not give him outfits to blend with the other series in smash (splatoon make his hair squid tentacles, xenoblade 2.. make his outfit light up like a blade.)

“Kingdom Hearts is a mess” you literally explained it with no effort; I’m sick of this joke that it’s some kind of nightmare lore when it’s pretty clear what’s happening, it just uses alot of weighty terminology and names
Some counter-intuitive terminology too. Take the Heartless, who actually _are_ the hearts of others, and same with the Nobodies with regards to bodies.
The Lore does make sense, yeah...but it has Plot Holes, a lot of filler stuff (No, not just the Disney Worlds) and got way to many "It was all not real/fake all the time and there's a Plot Twist"-Stuff.
Awesome video Aaronitmar! The Mii costumes do give us a little bit of hope that they will be fighters in Smash 6, 7, 8, or etc. depending on whether or not Smash 6 will be a series reboot. Sora’s alternate costume choices are absolutely gorgeous (except for his original KH appearance and KH2 gray form, which aren’t as good as the rest, but are still good costumes imo) and as of right now I cannot pick between any of them. I also wanna thank you very much for this series and I really appreciate the hard work put onto each of these videos. These videos have truly inspired me to start finding 7 more alternate costumes for every other character I really enjoy. (Marvel characters are a notable example)
Its funny to think about, but yeah technically. Donald and Goofy need to be there for Sora to use those forms, so they technically count as Goofy and Donald themed costumes.
Having Roxas as an Echo would disqualify Xion as just a mere alt because the logic there wouldn't be consistent. And in any case, Xion would still be really hard to justify as a clone of Roxas if you gave Roxas his O&O moveset to separate him from Sora anyway, since the only way you could pull that off without just using her "Nobody Sora" form would be to give her just the two blades from said form.

It’s wouldn’t be a stretch to make Roxas a echo fighter with an Xion alt. Just change the down taunt to something a little more edgey and there you go.
everytime i watched this series it is always entertaining, i have a series you can try to do, "victory poses origins" i don't know if a lot people ask you to do that but man that would be cool. PS : I like to play the KH3 outfit for Sora btw

actually, Tetsuya Nomura wanted mickey to be the protagonist but because Disney was worried about the game not selling well they didn't was to risk Mickey's image being tarnished so they wanted donald duck as the protagonist but they eventually came up to have an original character be the protagonist and that let to sora's creation
I feel like having Riku as a mii sword fighter was a missed opportunity but it must have been a legal nightmare to get sora in so I’m happy with what we have
Quick note to add, since it wasn’t stated in the video; The Octoling Wig is specifically a call to the first game, as the goggles it has on it is the same used in that game. ( No, they didn’t use them in Splatoon 2, if you haven’t known. Also yes, it is shown in the lore that Marina gets free from the goggles and escapes, but that’s a sunken scroll, and it has not shown any appearance other than that in Splatoon 2.
You forgot to mention this for the Octoling Wig, but the wig is specifically for the Splatoon 1 version of the Rival Octoling, as in Splatoon 2 the goggles were revised into sunglasses.
I like the blue outfit alot because blue is my favorite color and it definitely looks good, especially for Sora and all the other characters in Smash ^^

The series could probably continue on if you want to explain super smash flash 2 costume origins. Ssf2 gives a lot of characters unique alts and go beyond with the references.
A quick note: Valor and Wisdom forms having Sora "fuse" with Goofy or Donald respectively is strictly a gameplay mechanic implemented for game balance as evidenced by the cutscene that introduces Drive Forms 4:23 as well as every later cutscene where Sora remains in his Form if he was in one when the scene started yet Donald and Goofy are still there. What is actually happening is that Sora is drawing more power then usual from the respective ally's Heart to access and maintain the Form.
Even then, it still counts and that's more of a demonstration of how the drive feature works. Plus chances are Goofy's energy would've been temporarily depleted for the form to work.
Man I wished the valour form was replaced by the master form, ‘cause we have so many red alts for Sora, and a yellow one would have been great. But good vid regardless!
A tiny little detail that you didn't mention about the octoling and Doom Slayer costumes (I'm not trying to insult you or anything like that, please don't get mad). The octoling wig is based on the Splatoon 1 octolings, since they wear diferent shades in Splatoon 2. And while the Slayer costume is based on Doom Eternal's armor, the weapon that comes along is the gun from Doom 2016.
The Doom Slayer costume is the one from Doom Eternal. It has the exposed biceps, the dark grey/brown left shoulder pd, the equipment launcher, and everything else in the Doom Eternal armor. They basically miniaturized the amor to fit on a Mii
Man, the one thing I really, REALLY wished that they would add, should Sora ever actually get into Smash, is Cloud’s clothing* from the first Kingdom Hearts game. That is like by far the coolest clothes (plus bandaged sword) that pre-teen had ever seen. Sigh…talk about a missed opportunity…. Still kinda sorta holding out hope (however small it might be) for an alternate costume DLC pack or echo fighters pack. *(Just, y’know, without the dumb-looking _single_ wing that sometimes gets added to it. Ugh…)
Yeah, a costume pack for fighters is a REALLY huge missed opportunity. They would've made a ton of money with that. Man, it would've been so easy for even some of the Mii Costumes. They did add alternate colors with the Bomberman Mii...but that's it. No Color changes for references like "Quake" Doom Guy, "Mugman" Cuphead or different Numbers on the Vault Jumpsuit etc. And that they didn't add any other Echo Fighters is almost a crime. They really hyped them up and did nothing with them afterwards.

When you think about the selection process of all the characters in Smash, there is a lot to take in. For starters, the main goal of Smash Ultimate was to bring back every character. For base game, we got Snake back, who I heard was difficult to bring back (since Kojima left Konami). The only new third-party characters in base game were the Belmonts and Ken from SF. To be fair, I think Sakurai put Ken in because it was probably easy to add another SF rep, but easier to use Ken then Chun-Li. Most, if not all of the characters in the game are based on the 3DS/Wii U ballot. We all know that none of the characters added to Smash 4 were decided by the ballot, but were a part of it (Cloud and Bayonetta, but were easy. Bayonetta was part-Nintendo. Cloud was just easy from Square, but the content added was bare until they did Sephiroth). Joker could have not been part of it. His game released after. Hero maybe. I think he was more of a response to "put Goku in Smash" and the both use the same designs. Banjo yes, and Microsoft was supportive of it. Terry is unknown, but i can say he definitely was not part of the ballot or any requests, knowing how irrelevant SNK is. Byleth and Min Min were not ballot since they are Switch titles, and directly from Nintendo. FP Vol. 2 was not suppose to have Sora, just the first 5 (I wonder which character Sakurai would have ended with, probably Kazuya without Sora). Steve was a very popular ballot character, and Mojang was working hard to get him in for a long time. Sephiroth was a surprise, but I think it was more of a reason to add FF content. Pyra/Mythra to be fair, were requested since a lot of people wanted Xenoblade 2 rep, but they wanted Rex instead. Kazuya was probably not a ballot request by many, but I'm pretty sure it was Heihachi, since Sakurai did say that before adding Pac Man he wanted to do Tekken, but it was a challenge. Kazuya was just as much of a challenge, but he was a more flexible character. Sora was the most difficult to add, but Disney apparently approached him to add Sora.
Honestly, the most disappointing thing about the final DLC is the Mii costumes. Not that they deconfirm characters, but I wish they could have deconfirmed more characters, flif you know what I mean
It being among the least number of costumes shown in any dlc pack at all was definitely kinda disappointing The lack of a indie character, even if was just Shovel Knight or something, just kinda felt odd given the last 2 in pack 1 had em and Kazuya had it. If Shantae was it... wouldn't it have made more sense to put at the finale with Sora?

I know about the Kingdom Hearts Series. When I first heard about the first Title, I found out it was a collaboration of Square Soft and Disney and curious what the game is gonna be about. And I'm aware about the creation of the main character - Sora.
I'm still shocked that sora got in but even tho i've never played a kingdom hearts game but i've always wanted sora to be in smash but also this might be the final smash game that sakurai will create but overall smash ultimate was and will always be one hell of a ride and i hope in the future we get. The Super Smash Bros Legacy Collection.

actually, Tetsuya Nomura wanted mickey to be the protagonist but because Disney was worried about the game not selling well they didn't was to risk Mickey's image being tarnished so they wanted donald duck as the protagonist but they eventually came up to have an original character be the protagonist and that let to sora's creation

Quick note to add, since it wasn’t stated in the video;
The Octoling Wig is specifically a call to the first game, as the goggles it has on it is the same used in that game. ( No, they didn’t use them in Splatoon 2, if you haven’t known. Also yes, it is shown in the lore that Marina gets free from the goggles and escapes, but that’s a sunken scroll, and it has not shown any appearance other than that in Splatoon 2.
Fun fact: the black and white skin has a slightly bigger head than regular sora

You forgot to mention this for the Octoling Wig, but the wig is specifically for the Splatoon 1 version of the Rival Octoling, as in Splatoon 2 the goggles were revised into sunglasses.
I like the blue outfit alot because blue is my favorite color and it definitely looks good, especially for Sora and all the other characters in Smash ^^

The series could probably continue on if you want to explain super smash flash 2 costume origins. Ssf2 gives a lot of characters unique alts and go beyond with the references.

Anyone ever realize that Sora’s KH 1 outfit is actually a leotard. The belt and jacket give it the illusion of a short and pants
A quick note: Valor and Wisdom forms having Sora "fuse" with Goofy or Donald respectively is strictly a gameplay mechanic implemented for game balance as evidenced by the cutscene that introduces Drive Forms 4:23 as well as every later cutscene where Sora remains in his Form if he was in one when the scene started yet Donald and Goofy are still there. What is actually happening is that Sora is drawing more power then usual from the respective ally's Heart to access and maintain the Form.
Even then, it still counts and that's more of a demonstration of how the drive feature works. Plus chances are Goofy's energy would've been temporarily depleted for the form to work.

A tiny little detail that you didn't mention about the octoling and Doom Slayer costumes (I'm not trying to insult you or anything like that, please don't get mad). The octoling wig is based on the Splatoon 1 octolings, since they wear diferent shades in Splatoon 2. And while the Slayer costume is based on Doom Eternal's armor, the weapon that comes along is the gun from Doom 2016.
The Doom Slayer costume is the one from Doom Eternal. It has the exposed biceps, the dark grey/brown left shoulder pd, the equipment launcher, and everything else in the Doom Eternal armor. They basically miniaturized the amor to fit on a Mii

Man, the one thing I really, REALLY wished that they would add, should Sora ever actually get into Smash, is Cloud’s clothing* from the first Kingdom Hearts game. That is like by far the coolest clothes (plus bandaged sword) that pre-teen had ever seen.
Sigh…talk about a missed opportunity…. Still kinda sorta holding out hope (however small it might be) for an alternate costume DLC pack or echo fighters pack.
*(Just, y’know, without the dumb-looking _single_ wing that sometimes gets added to it. Ugh…)
Yeah, a costume pack for fighters is a REALLY huge missed opportunity. They would've made a ton of money with that. Man, it would've been so easy for even some of the Mii Costumes. They did add alternate colors with the Bomberman Mii...but that's it. No Color changes for references like "Quake" Doom Guy, "Mugman" Cuphead or different Numbers on the Vault Jumpsuit etc. And that they didn't add any other Echo Fighters is almost a crime. They really hyped them up and did nothing with them afterwards.

When you think about the selection process of all the characters in Smash, there is a lot to take in. For starters, the main goal of Smash Ultimate was to bring back every character. For base game, we got Snake back, who I heard was difficult to bring back (since Kojima left Konami). The only new third-party characters in base game were the Belmonts and Ken from SF. To be fair, I think Sakurai put Ken in because it was probably easy to add another SF rep, but easier to use Ken then Chun-Li.
Most, if not all of the characters in the game are based on the 3DS/Wii U ballot. We all know that none of the characters added to Smash 4 were decided by the ballot, but were a part of it (Cloud and Bayonetta, but were easy. Bayonetta was part-Nintendo. Cloud was just easy from Square, but the content added was bare until they did Sephiroth).
Joker could have not been part of it. His game released after. Hero maybe. I think he was more of a response to "put Goku in Smash" and the both use the same designs. Banjo yes, and Microsoft was supportive of it. Terry is unknown, but i can say he definitely was not part of the ballot or any requests, knowing how irrelevant SNK is. Byleth and Min Min were not ballot since they are Switch titles, and directly from Nintendo.
FP Vol. 2 was not suppose to have Sora, just the first 5 (I wonder which character Sakurai would have ended with, probably Kazuya without Sora). Steve was a very popular ballot character, and Mojang was working hard to get him in for a long time. Sephiroth was a surprise, but I think it was more of a reason to add FF content. Pyra/Mythra to be fair, were requested since a lot of people wanted Xenoblade 2 rep, but they wanted Rex instead.
Kazuya was probably not a ballot request by many, but I'm pretty sure it was Heihachi, since Sakurai did say that before adding Pac Man he wanted to do Tekken, but it was a challenge. Kazuya was just as much of a challenge, but he was a more flexible character. Sora was the most difficult to add, but Disney apparently approached him to add Sora.
Final smash origins for fighter pass 2
Honestly, the most disappointing thing about the final DLC is the Mii costumes. Not that they deconfirm characters, but I wish they could have deconfirmed more characters, flif you know what I mean
It being among the least number of costumes shown in any dlc pack at all was definitely kinda disappointing
The lack of a indie character, even if was just Shovel Knight or something, just kinda felt odd given the last 2 in pack 1 had em and Kazuya had it. If Shantae was it... wouldn't it have made more sense to put at the finale with Sora?
I've Played The Games, So I Know Sora's Skins In Smash Bros. Ultimate In And Out. But This Is Still A Good Watch. A Fitting Finale Of A Fitting Era.

I'm still shocked that sora got in but even tho i've never played a kingdom hearts game but i've always wanted sora to be in smash but also this might be the final smash game that sakurai will create but overall smash ultimate was and will always be one hell of a ride and i hope in the future we get.
