I live in Korea and I see Kodak-wear everywhere on people, including co-workers. But when I mention how cool it is and ask if they're into photography at all, I get blank stares. It's not just web-site stores but actual dedicated brick and mortar yellow-signed Kodak clothing stores (there's one in my city of Daejeon). Went in by accident looking for film and was told "no, it's just a clothing brand" by the employee. Left shaking my head.
In the US, Kodak as a brand has been degraded over the years to practically no value culturally. In some foreign countries, probably including Korea, just being a well known, traditional US brand is a big bump in prestige sales. Put "Kodak" on a $150 down jacket in the US, and you wouldn't need to unpack a second shipping box of product, ever. The branding itself kills perceived value. That's the difference at work here. It's also what you get when Kodak is run remotely by a bunch of hedge fund managers. As for all things photographic, hope that the day doesn't come when the next quarter profit projections for film sales fall below those for T-shirts, because that's going to be the end of Ektar and Portra.
Some brands hit the spot in markets, others do not. Around 25 years ago the Harley Davidson company announced that their profit from clothing with their name and logo had surpassed any profit they made from their actual motorcycles. Once upon a time the Kodak brand was ubiquitous around the world - for their photographic products.. branded clothing and assorted non-photographic goods are always a good gamble for any company that is in a downslope trajectory in their “regular” business.
My late wife was very fashion conscious. Her belief was others from their first impression on how you look. She alway kept my properly “attired”. She passed away four years ago and my clothes are beginning to get well worn as I have nor purchased any other than under garments. I just don’t have the eye for fashion. I wear what’s comfortable and fits the occasion.

photographers are too busy buying film rolls than new clothes. the clothes are generic clothes with a logo slapped onto the fabric. dead giveaway is that the logos are small. easier in mass marketed high production clothes

Missed the point with that, there’s a very stark contrast in quality and variety in products that was surprising more than them not selling here
yeah, that's crazy. I'd imagine the US has to be it's largest market share? Maybe this is a test run for Korea? Who knows.
