I think what we all tend to forget is that Kaylee isn’t some character we watch on our screens. She’s a person. A real, living and breathing person just like the rest of us, with daily stresses, bills to pay, issues, and all the rest of it. Just because your job involves a camera does not mean you are automatically the target of ridicule or spite.

Sometimes the hardest decision, is the kindest thing to do.
Unless you keep the horse, you don't really have control over what's going to happen to the horse in the years to come.
Just by watching this video, people can seem legit, then down the line, they reveal their true colors.
So even though you feel safe letting them take over the care, it might not actually be like that.
That's why putting down, is the kindest option. And the option people choose.

    • @Galemor1
      @Galemor1 2 роки тому +1

Yes they can, but the amount of horses who needs professional help, vs people who are able to help them, isn't balanced.
And a dead horse isn't in pain, isn't scared, isn't anything but in peace.

I'm so sorry Kaylee! As someone who's been a horse person my entire life, and an animal lover/enthusiast in general, I commend you for all of the time, energy, and money that you have put into this pony. It breaks my heart to hear you apologize for thinking you've disappointed anyone☹️. Horses are a tremendous amount of work and money when they are in ideal condition and that is not what you received with your horse. Again, good on you for doing all you have done thus far and for what you plan to do to help this Bobby boy rehabilitate.
From my experience in the horse community (in the US) and in exotic animal-keeping communities, I hate to say it but the way you were received by them does not surprise me: nonetheless, I'm very sorry you went through that and I'm sure Ben feels awful as he was just trying to help you out. For some reason I've found that people in these hobbies tend to be pretty snobby and have an arrogance about them to anyone that seeks help and I've never been able to understand it.
I'm not in a financial position to help with your go fund me, but I'm sending all of the positive hopes that others will be able to help you so Bobby can be rehabbed and can hopefully find a new owner who will show him kindness and dedication that every animal deserves.
❤️ A faithful viewer who is not at all disappointed.

@@KayleeEllenOfficial my daughter rehabs abused horses... which is what you have been describing for a while now.
Horses can get PTSD, just like people, if they experience stress and don't have the support to heal from the stress...
As a professional who works with trauma, I hear a loving, kind, caring person who was sold the horse that **needed** to come to you to get the care and opportunity to heal. I doubt that some random person on the internet can tell you something that you don't already know, but maybe it can help you gain a semblance of comfort.
This horse has obviously had something terrifying happen while he was stuck in a stable and it may take him years to heal from this... if he can be paired with a more confident horse who can teach him humans can be trustworthy.
It is a huge testament to your integrity that you recognize that you are not the person who is capable of helping him heal... that is absolutely not something to be ashamed of! In fact, your honesty is refreshing, and your dedication to finding the right home for a horse who could easily live for another 15 to 20 years.
Whatever choices you ultimately make, are obviously choices you make from your heart... and that is admirable.
I hope you are able to recognize what a gift this video is for your viewers to learn what truly responsible horse ownership actually looks like.
      Because this is it.
Anyone can own, take care of, and sell a healthy, happy, well socialized horse.
Very few people have the inner strength to acknowledge that they have a horse that they are not capable of being a responsible steward for, and even fewer will ask for help to do the right thing by the horse.
Try to give your self the grace that you would give anyone else in this situation.

    A word of advice:
    1) Don’t fight the previous owner in court, you won’t win, even if you do this will cost you tens of thousands.
    2) There is no real way to prove the horse has been abused by previous owners, this is why it’s recommended on top of a vet check to bring along an experienced trainer to assess the horse.
    3) This horse is beyond your skill level and will do much better with an experienced handler, this horse also KNOWS you are afraid of him.
    4) Its better for you and the horse to cut losses now and save up your money for another horse, and rehome him to the proper person, even at a loss.
I know it’s a bit of tough love, I can’t imagine what you’re going through but honestly this is the most sane advice anyone is going to give you coming from an experienced horse person. I’ve been in this exact situation, this is coming from experience.

I am a ligation lawyer in the US who practices in an area of law that is extremely conflict based (divorce/family law), so often deal with parties like your opposing party in this situation. Invariably, and unfortunately, when there is a significant disparity between the financial resources available to each of the parties in a legal dispute, the strategy and tactic of the party with the most money is to outspend the other party until they give up. That’s what your lady is going to do. It sucks and is unfair. But that’s just her best strategy. I always try to explain to my clients that there are emotional costs they will incur if they are engaged in protracted litigation that are not as easily calculated, but should factor into their decision-making as to when to just cut their losses and move on. You should identify what that breaking point is for you, before you move forward. If you do elect to move forward with the litigation, I would suggest selling the horse, even at a loss, because at least you will then have demonstrable evidence of your financial loss (I.e., damages as defined in legal terms), not only opinion evidence regarding the diminished value. I’m sorry you are experiencing this unfairness in achieving justice. I wish you all the luck and best possible outcome. hugs.

I got duped just like you!! Bought a great horse. I even rode him. My 1st clue should have been how nervous the owner was when i asked her to ride him 1st. Brought him home and he turned into a nightmare!!!! My friend kept telling me it wasn't my fault, that the seller was a con artist. I still felt that if I just worked hard enough and long enough, he would be like he was when I bought him. Now, I'm sure he had been doped a little that day. It got so bad, my trainer wouldn't even ride him. Finally, we found a buyer who knew all his faults and wanted him anyway. It was a BIG loss financially, but the right decision. My rider friends were so happy, they threw a party. They all thought they would have to attend my funeral. It was a great relief to know I'll never have to try to ride him again, and that he has a good home. I learned valuable lessons from him! 1. Some sellers are unscrupulous. 2. I can't ride and train just any horse and there are too many good horses out there to put my life in danger to prove I could train him.3. Pride isn't worth being injured or killed. 4. Money is just money. I don't say that flippant like. I'm not rich by any means, but it's over now. He's happier and I know I sure am. My story was long, but wanted you to know you're not the only one out there who has experienced this, you're doing right by the horse and there's a place for sellers like you're and mine and it ain't in Heaven. Karma can be a bitch!bit hard!!

I was so sad listening to this. I like to have faith that the majority of people will be supportive and positive and the small percentage of mean, negative people are the ones that will be (unfortunately) most active on Facebook. I was ecstatic to see that your go fund me is almost at 13k, that is amazing and will hopefully alleviate some of your stress.
I live on the east coast of Canada and nearby is an animal sanctuary/farm and the stories of horses they have taken in/rehabilitated and found loving homes for is truly heartwarming. I hope that maybe someone in the UK knows of a place like this that may be willing to take this horse and give him the care he needs to find a good home. All the best, I will be watching for more (hopefully more positive) updates.
    Cheers!

There’s a difference between *legally right* and *realistically practical.* Sometimes even though you could win your case, lawyers (decent ones anyway) understand that it would cost you more than it’s worth. Because at the end of the day this is costing you more than just money-it’s taking a toll on your well-being. You’re already pushing yourself to the brink to run the shop but that investment of time and resources doesn’t feel demoralizing because it’s your passion. But if you split your already busy self to put the same amount of energy into this litigation, you might lose the rest of yourself. And for what? Pride of winning? The ego of being able to put the seller in their place?
Yes, you’re right, seller did you dirty and deserves to pay. But it doesn’t mean you have to be the one to make her. She’ll get her karma from the universe and you’ll keep your sanity AND you’ll know you did right by Bobby and at least tried to fight for him.
Just my take on it (I speak from experience). Wishing you well in whatever path you choose 💚

I want to give you a hug so badly right now. Don't be embarrassed about asking for help, that's what community is for and you've built a great one here on your channel. You provide us with great content we get to watch for free, let those of us who are able repay some of our gratitude for you by contributing to the care and rehabilitation of Bobby.
Regarding the litigation issue, you're not disappointing anyone who matters with whatever decision you decide to take. Rich people are the fucking worst in cases like this because they can do exactly what this gal is doing to you: bleeding your bank account dry until you have to drop the issue. This is a situation that is affecting YOUR life directly, not any of ours, so while we care about Bobby because we care about you, YOU are the one that gets to make the final choice about how to move forward regardless of the opinions of internet randos.
Deciding to not pursue litigation is a decision you still have regardless of what anyone on the internet thinks. Deciding to pursue litigation is a legitimate option as well as long as your stress levels and finances can withstand that decision and you are the only person who knows if they can. A lot of the people who watch your channel know what you're about and see how much you care about this horse so let your GoFundMe do its job; as of me writing this comment you're almost 2/3 of the way to your initial goal! Add the $10k back as a stretch goal and if litigation isn't in the cards throw all that cash at Bobby and make him the best horse he can be. ❤❤❤

I'm not usually person, who comment basically anything, I'm watching regularly your videos for a long time now and today you didn't show any weekness. You showed incredible strenght! It is not easy to put yourself out there and to be vulnerable and I admire you for doing that and I think many others do to. You should be proud on yourself!!!
Also if you decide not to fight anymore, again, I wouldn't see it as dissapointment. You live only once, you have one chance in this life, one health (physical and mental) and sometimes there is no shame in saying "I have enough. I cannot do it anymore". Especially if you standing againts somebody who has nothing to lose. Justice doesn't always wins and we all know it. That's life. You have been dealing with this for such a long time, I cannot imagine the stress and anxiety this must be causing to you and no loss in the money can ever balance that. You had incredible bad luck with this horse (and poor Bobby too with the previous owner) and I'm so sorry for that.

If kept where he is with no training (especially mental training), he will get worse and most likely someone will have him euthanized. I applaud you for putting your horse first, above everything else, just to get him into the right hands that will love him and work with him, so he can feel confident and happy. Bobby deserves that. Keep plugging away, and I truly hope some monies can be raised to help you with this process. All the best to you Kaylee.

I've spent a good bit of time with the horse community and I really think you're doing better by this horse than a large chunk of people I've met. You're right, people do turn out horses like him with issues instead of working on them. I'm incredibly pleased with how you've gone about all this, and even if litigation can't continue, I really do think that you'll be able to rehab the horse and pass him onto an owner who will care for him and give him the life he deserves. Life seems to test us when we're at our lowest, but you've handled things well so far and I've no doubt that you'll continue to do so. Lean on your friends and family, if you can, that's what they're there for. We aren't built to handle everything on our own.
Regardless of how the litigation turns out, I'm really glad you've made it as far as you have. People who have a lot of money like that are used to just buying their way out of problems. And while I hope that you do push forward on that front (obvi I would expect the law to be on your side) I also know it can be very stressful to say the least. Don't forget to take care of yourself, even if it's small. I'd understand completely if you decide to stop litigation-you've got an entire community backing you so at the very least this owner will be judged by the public, whether it's in a courtroom or not.
Everything will work itself out, it just takes time and sometimes that can seem insanely daunting. I have full faith that you'll pull through this and that you'll manage to get Bobby into an ideal situation.

I hope the total on the gofundme raises your spirits this morning ❤️. I'm so pleased you have smashed the target needed for care and this may also help with the litigation fight, when, and if, you are strong enough to deal with that. I really hope to see a video with that sassy Kaylee attitude we all love now you know the horse will be cared for and your finances are more secure 🙂
To be honest im not in the horsey world and never will be, but I know how toxic it can be from friends that are in it so the reaction really doesn't surprise me at all unfortunately 😢. I think the response to the video shows planty people are the best 🥰 so pleased I found this community! I hope after all these comments and the outpouring of love, you can get over the negativity on that group/page and focus on the positives.

So much respect for you right now. You didn't fail anyone. You are doing the right thing for the animal, and for yourself. You tried as long as you could. Things don't always work out, and that's okay. You don't need to prove anything to anyone. Life happens, shit happens, and sometimes things just need to move on. Take care of yourself.

It is totally okay to ask for help in a situation like this! It could be that at some point we all could be in a situation like you are right now. I hope a lot of people have the Ressources to donate. Please don’t let the gofundme comments get to you. You are trying to give Bobby the best care. Those are people that probably have issues with sympathy. Sending you a lot of strength and love ❤❤❤

Such a difficult decision to make. My heart goes out to you. Bobby has been lucky to have crossed paths with you; not many people would put his well being as the most important priority in this situation. I’ve never owned a horse, but have had pets my whole life and respect the folks, who, like you, truly do the best they can for the animals in their care. Hoping things start looking better in the near future for both of you.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I have no experience with horses but I’m a huge animal lover. I loved seeing him swim. It’s so tragic when any animal is abused and then it’s their “fault” when they act out due to the mistrust. I commend you for fighting and advocating for him and not giving up on him. Remember this- every day you feel has been the worst day, you’ve already survived that day. You got this. Your community is behind you. I love all your content ❤
