    Never stop, all of your info will be watched for decades. No one else actually shows people this small details. I am sick of dudes in big boats just putting on techno music showing off reeling in fish with no tips and tricks.

    Used to fish with shrimp using a wine cork for a float. Ludrick really loved them. Same with squirt worms.

    Awesome video Roger! Green nippers or clickers are another bait that is gathered in the weed beds or by turning over rocks in the estuary. I have heard of a technique to get black crabs and that is to jam an ice cream container or small bucket in amongst the rocks on places like a break wall and cable tie a small piece of mullet into the bottom - crabs find it and fall in and can't get out , i have heard of a few that use this system to get sand crabs on the beach also. Oysters? well one for the fish three for me🤤🤤🤤

    Another great video, but the octopus trap should be a bit of a no no in my books .. it's to easy for the birds to get caught in the line that has been left out , and your tin comming off couldn't be good for waterways , keep up the great videos you have got a like and subscribe off me 👍

    The hole you drilled in the tin (for octopus )more than likely had a sharp edge, which cut your line???

    You have asked for tips so here goes.
    Instead of dragging a small net through the strap weed get a couple of the small folding traps. The 10 inch square ones with fine mesh are great. I just bait them with pilchards or chook pellets. You should get about 50 to 100 shrimp per hour.

    • @ZeffAU
      @ZeffAU 6 місяців тому

      Just check your local rules on this one .. in qld we're not allowed to use fine mesh or bait pots in tidal waters

    • @dalelatter1103
      @dalelatter1103 6 місяців тому

      @@ZeffAU I had a look at qld regs and I can't find where it states you can't use fine mesh traps. Can you point me in the right direction please?

    • @ZeffAU
      @ZeffAU 6 місяців тому

      @@dalelatter1103 oooh this is so interesting, it used to very explicitly say it.. What I did find is under Funnel and Round traps on www.qld.gov.au/recreation/activities/boating-fishing/rec-fishing/rules/equipment "Funnel and round traps with a maximum rigid opening size of 10cm can only be used in fresh waters west of a line following..." though there's not a listed minimum mesh size on the other trap types anymore. Someone is saying the absence of round and funnel traps in the tidal section indicates they're not allowed however they're not specifically excluded in the exclusion at top anymore. I might actually need to call fisheries about this one

    in NSW, if im not mistaken, there are rules against filleting a fish before you leave the beach? not sure if the rule is enforced...

    • @Traveller-nu4ne
      @Traveller-nu4ne 3 дні тому

      Really? That’s interesting, why would such a rule come about?

    Pay to check zones . watch what fresh waters your in. one could get chewed. any rock near salt watch were ya fingers go blue ringed puss could be there. dams creeks rivers in croc country do not swim watch were ya camp. best of luck.

    I just don't like buying bait. It seems wrong to me to buy fish to catch fish. I can't do it. Much prefer to catch bait.
