G’day, Roger. I'm 67 and I’ve estuary-fished all my life, after being taught by my late grandfather. Now, thanks primarily to your brilliant videos, I’m now expanding my horizons into beach fishing-while also refining my rigging and baiting techniques. Plenty of beautiful beaches here in far-south Tasmania!
Great insight in Rock Fishing Roger! You definitely make one of, if not THE BEST fishing tutorials/tips and tricks. Makes my day when i see your vids pop up in my notification!
Glad ya mentioned rock spikes shoes,,,I've seen and used barefeet, wellingtons, non-slip work boots, joggers and all not good on slimey and/or mossy rocks... Spikes give ya the confidence to move round like mountain goats
Hi Roger. Just wanted to let you know I enjoy your videos and adore the conditions that you fish in. From South Africa and our shore fishing is not nearly as lively as yours. Learned a lot about the traces you use and I cant wait to try them out (living inland and only get one opportunity per annum). I also want to try the beach worm bait to see if we have them here as well. If at all possible can you include a snapshot of a map where you fish so it makes a little more sense for us non-Ausies. Thanks again for the nice vids.
Hi Roger and greetings from Hawaii. I love your videos and am learning a lot from you. If possible, I would love a video on slide fishing. It is a popular form of fishing for Trevally here in Hawaii Thank you!
Roger we still have big swells in sydney.i was watching waves throw themselves 30m or more up in the air when they hit north head in sydney.most waves pounding the cliffs were in the 6-7m range.powerful stuff
Awesome one Roger, maybe you should put up a link on those Thai Fishcakes you always talk about.its blue fish season here in South Africa, so I might keep a few and try these fish cakes😀😀😀
Good video. Amazing the calm conditions there, considering the huge swells we had. Places like that are best fished at dead low tide, no doubt. Enjoyed the fishing action. Cheers 😀
Hi there Rodger , just wondering if by any chance you could share your Thai fish cake recipe that you use with your salmon , love to try it . Awesome fishing session there mate , well done , love your videos as always 👍
Good vid Roger l’ve only fished in fresh water the salt was to far away about a 4-5 hour drive l lived in Ivanhoe N S W . Now lam living near the coast one question what size rod do I need for surf, and estuary fishing, l’ve tried fly in the estuary but it’s touch and go.
Another nice video Thank you so much for the video . Roger your best master learned so much from you Wher is hier you are fishing in this video? I like it
Hey Roger if your ever in the US you should come to North Carolina. The outer banks in NC are famous for there surf fishing. Big Bull Reds in the 35 to 40 pound range are common with striped bass the same size. This are also produces large trout spots and whiting. You will find that our whiting look considerably different from yours. They are more of a wider fish and as you said about the whiting you catch they have the most delicious white flakey meat. Man getting hungry just talking about them. You ever head this way shoot me me a message and we'll check it out.
Hey Roger..love the vids 🤙 But please keep your feet planted in those spikes. Lifting your leg to avoid getting wet WILL increase your chances of going down..🤙
Thanks mate really appriciate u always for the honest rply...been learn a lot in ur movie..do i have a chance to come and fish u in the beach willing to pay so i can learn actual if it is ok..
Why do you OZ fishermen think that a Kahiwhai (NZ) has anything to do with Salmon? I get it, your taking the piss. The Australian Salmon, "poor man's Salmon". Huge scales, white and bloody red meat. Fantastic marinaded in Lemon juice and sweet basil
*Kahawai = Australian Salmon, that’s why… they are the same fish lol. How is he taking the piss? He’s said so many times in multiple videos how he loves eating them

Hi Roger got a question does it really matter what time of the day you go fishing 🎣 😀
I wanted to ask you what you think of the knocker-rig ?
Can I use it on the beach and on the rocks ?
Thanks again.🙋♂️

Hi Roger, I've noticed that none of the fisherman use a bucket to rest the end of your rod in while fishing?
